Enjoy serene lake views at the "Tranquil Tortuga" with accommodations for up to 6 guests (and even pets, with a pet fee!) at our centrally located spot in the heart of Destin! Our place is definitely the perfect spot for your Destin vacation with friends or family, single travelers, or working at "home away from home". Don't hesitate...Come enjoy the local vibes of the "Tranquil Tortuga"!

While you're not beachfront, the driving proximity to everything Destin can't be beat to live like a local! While we understand that our home may not be a good fit for everyone, we go above and beyond for our guest satisfaction!

**We cannot stress enough for all potential guests to read our listing & rules in full detail before booking, to ensure our place is satisfactory for your needs. While we have created a fresh, upbeat space inside, there are some exterior limitations that are beyond our control-our condos were built in the 70's so are not the "prettiest" aesthetically. We understand that our home is not for everyone & want our guests to have the best experience when choosing to book with us**

“Tranquil Tortuga" is a cozy one bedroom condo with accommodations to sleep up to 6 guests. Our bed layout is as follows: King Bed, Queen Sleeper Sofa, and two Twin trundle beds. Read along for a quick layout of our space!

When you arrive, you'll walk right in to the living room that boasts an incredibly comfortable queen sleeper sofa (with a REAL mattress, not one of those "feel the springs through it" type), two accent chairs, & a cozy loveseat for lounging. Even enjoy a little fun turning on the glitter filled lava lamp for some extra ambiance to your stay! Enjoy our large Roku Tv with provided Cox Cable offered for our guests convenience. Guests can feel free to login to their own media (Netflix, etc. while traveling as well!

With a wall of windows encompassing the living room the natural light is incredible! The view from the condo is pretty amazing, overlooking our very own complex wide lake, filled with some "tranquil tortugas" if you take a peek over the bridge!

The kitchen area has an open concept to the living room for enjoying your meals and time together. We've stocked this kitchen with full appliances, dishes, bake ware, pots & pans, silverware, utensils, crockpot, toaster, blender, and a traditional coffee maker & Keurig! If you plan to cook during your trip, we encourage you to bring along any spices, condiments, & oils you may need as we do not provide any perishable or non perishable items. There is a breakfast bar with four barstools to enjoy meals, or a table for 4 to have a lake view while you dine!

As a bonus, right off the living and dining area, there is a half bath for guest use-which is a rare addition to a unit in this complex. It certainly makes it easier for groups traveling to have that extra space to use getting ready, and having the additional toilet & sink!

Directly off the living area you can find our one bedroom with a memory foam King bed with an abundance of pillows for a comfortable nights sleep. Under the King bed are two memory foam twin trundle beds, that easily pull out on either side of the bed. A dresser & ample closet space with hangers is provided so you don't have to live out of your suitcase. The TV in this room also offers Roku with provided Cox Cable & is perfect for relaxing in bed watching your favorite shows at the end of the day.

The bathroom offers a shower & tub to enjoy baths, soft towels, and plenty of space to get ready in. We've designed this space with the comforts of home & not a cramped & cold hotel feel!

Our stackable washer and dryer right between the kitchen and bathroom offers guests the convenience of a full washer and dryer for use during your stay. No need to visit the laundromat!

We have an easy to use high chair, pack and play, plastic silverware, cups, and plastic dishes for our tiny travelers as well! These items are always at the listing, so no need to request them, pay extra to rent them, or pack them along.

You're in the best spot within our gated community for easy access to amenities as well! There are tennis courts right across the bridge, just bring along your gear to play to your heart's content. One of three community pools is located next to the tennis courts & as an added bonus this is the only pool that is seasonally heated! Right behind the condo building you can find our small lake that offers a quaint feel for an evening stroll. Take an opportunity to peek over the bridge at the abundance of turtles that call this space home! Lastly, guests can enjoy charcoal grills throughout the complex for any meals they'd like to grill out.

A few important things to keep in mind:

-This is a second floor unit with no elevators available.
-We supply all linens for your stay (to include beach towels). Our cleaners offer a courtesy supply of LIGHT amenities (a trash bag, roll of toilet paper, paper towels, soap, dish detergent, & laundry soap). If you have a trip longer than 24 hours, or are coming with a larger group please plan ahead & bring any extra items you anticipate needing during your stay.
-Trailer/RV/BoxTruck/Watercraft parking is not permitted at any time in our complex. Towing fees issued from the HOA do apply to any violation of this.
-Extra guests not included in the reservation are not tolerated, please book with accurate guest count for your stay and to ensure we’ve provided enough linens as well.
-Due to this being a residential complex, noise ordinances are at 10pm sharp. We do not permit excessive noise, parties, illegal activity, or disturbances at any time.
-This condo is video monitored outdoors for security purposes at all times.
-This is a condo, so there is a potential for noise. We supply earplugs and a noise machine for your convenience (upon request) but any noise from the other units is beyond our control.
-While we do host groups 25 years or younger at our discretion, we must be notified before your confirmed booking. We do not host one night bookings for ages 25 and younger at any time.
-Any stay that a house trained pet will be included in MUST be disclosed when booking, as a pet fee of $50 is required. We do not accept more than 2 dogs, and pets must be crated when unattended and cleaned up after inside and out. Pets are not permitted on furniture at any time. ADA recognized service animals are not charged a pet fee, but ESA (Emotional Support Animals) are still subject to pet fee. False information regarding a service animal is against the law in our state, so we appreciate your honesty in this matter.
-We are NOT beachfront, you can't see the beach, you can't stick your toes in the sand from the front door, and you do have to get in your vehicle to drive to the PUBLIC beach access that is 3/4 mile from our condo. We do not have a gated or private beach access at this location. We do provide beach towels for our guests to use at the beach, but no other beach items are provided or guaranteed.
-This is a mixed community with residential & short term guests alike. While the gated community itself is a "community in transition" with updates to the exterior being improved steadily, we do not have control over any "look" of the exterior of our condo. We have gone above & beyond to create a cozy space INSIDE for our guests enjoyment!
All guests MUST read our listing description in full before booking. This home is not a good fit for everyone, so we want to ensure you have a great stay.

-Check in time is 4PM CST. We do not allow pre-planned early check ins, or luggage dropoff. Please plan to arrive at 4pm CST or after. Occasionally an early check in may be available, but never guaranteed due to the nature of our business being unpredictable in this matter.
-This complex is a community in transition. While the exterior of some of the buildings can be intimidating & maybe not what you may be expecting within a gated community (they were built in the 70's) please know that this is beyond our control. The grounds are cared for daily by the HOA. We take excellent care of the interior of our place & if you have concerns please contact us ASAP.

Although we have a stellar cleaning crew, mistakes happen, and they are happy to remedy anything that was overlooked.
-Due to this being a residential complex, noise ordinances are at 10pm sharp. We do not permit excessive noise, parties, illegal activity, or disturbances at any time.
-Please note this is a condo in a building with shared walls with other units, so there is a potential for noise. We supply earplugs and a noise machine for your convenience by request, but any noise from other units is beyond our control.
-We do not host student groups/under 25 at any time. If you have questions related to this please contact us.

We enjoyed our stay in this comfortable apartment, it has everything you need to feel at your own 🏝home, everything is clean, the kitchen is equipped with everything you need to cook and the pool is a few steps from the apartment. We loved it and we recommend it, it is safe and clean. Thank you Matthew.

Served our needs well! Centrally located to all Destin offers.
We stayed a full month in Destin, and this second floor condo worked well for us. My husband and I both work remotely, and the internet supported our work without issue. What we paid (as early renters of this unit) seemed a great value compared to other options in Destin. This condo is in a very central location to Destin. We could walk to June White Decker beach park in about 15 mins, and it was only 5 mins there by car. Plenty of restaurants & stores within walking distance. The community seems to be a mix of full-time working class residents, snowbirds, and short-term vacationers. Established in the early 70s, it’s a bit dated and tired looking. While we were there they were making improvements to the landscaping and resurfacing one of the pools. There were no surprises as the listing set our expectations properly. I always felt safe. Overall, the area was quiet. Lots of people have dogs. This unit faces a small lake where you can see ducks and turtles which was a highlight of the property. The unit itself is well-equipped. All of the furniture (minus the dresser in the bedroom) is newer. The countertops, sinks, light fixtures, floors, and ceiling fans are all recently updated. The cabinetry (kitchen and master bath) and master tub are possibly original. Comfy memory foam bed. Cons - sound from neighbors/thin walls & floors, fit and finish a bit shoddy in places, spongy/creaky floor in a couple of spots.
