Little Red Cabin - King bed, 25 minutes to Dodge Ridge & Pinecrest
Cozy, peaceful cabin in the woods in Twain Harte. Large back deck with beautiful view. 2 bedrooms, main bedroom with king bed and a small sleeper futon/sofa for children. Smaller second semi-private (no door) bedroom has two twin beds, a desk for any work or schoolwork needs. Sleeper sofa in the living room. Open living room, dining area, and kitchen. Close to downtown Twain Harte and all that it has to offer - summer music outdoors, restaurants and shops. Short drive to Pinecrest Lake and Dodge Ridge. Quiet and Peaceful yet close to all the goings on in town. Wood burning stove for winter coziness. There's a large back deck for your enjoyment to take in the view of trees and eat outside under the shade umbrella, or to grill on the gas grill. There are stairs to get down to the house but once inside it is single level. Newly installed AC/Heater mini split in the living room! Fans throughout house. Still, summer months do get hot inside so please be forewarned - No AC in bedrooms.
This was the perfect cabin to stay at for a couple of days skiing/snowboarding in winter. What was also lovely even though we stopped to buy firewood there was plenty on our arrival. We would consider the Little Red Cabin again for future trips!
We enjoyed our stay in Sherwood Forest. Emily warned us it would be hot and it was. We enjoyed walking along the Flume nearby and getting ice cream in Twain Harte. We'd love to stay here again.
Our family enjoyed our stay at this peaceful cabin, especially soaking in the woods on the big deck and making smores in the fireplace. The cabin was also thoughtfully well-stocked with toiletries and kitchen essentials (cooking oil, spices, cookware, etc.). Short drive to Dodge Ridge for some skiing. Thank you and we hope to be back!
We stayed for a weekend at this very cute and cozy cabin with our family of four (2 and 4 year old kids). The cabin was very comfortable and we had fun using the wood stove and making Smores! There is a creek nearby and we could hear a lot of frogs croaking, which our kids thought was great. About 30 min to Dodge Ridge where we took the kiddos skiing, and just a few min to downtain Twain Harte where we had a couple nice dinners. Definitely recommend!
We found Emilyâs cabin very cosy and comfortable. The views from the deck were lovely and we loved the outdoor lights on the deck in the evening. We also enjoyed having the wood burning stove on the chilly mornings.
The kitchen had everything we needed except for a couple of utensils, which I mentioned to the owner.
Overall, it was a great week and we would definitely stay there again!
Emily was a good hostess. she answered all the doubts we had and told us about places we could visit. the only suggestion I have is for the person who clean the cabin to be more careful with the sheets and towels that had a lot of musty smell
We enjoyed our summer 2 day stay at the cozy cabin.
The PROS: the beds were comfy and there were plenty of linens available. The host was apologetic to our letting her know of a wasp nest inside the patio umbrella. The cabin was a short drive to trails for running/hiking.
The CONS: the house was 92 degrees inside when we arrived. It took several hours for it to cool down. Thankfully the AC unit worked.
The pans for cooking were left with sticky gunk on them- unfortunately the house cleaner did not make sure dishes were clean.
The windowsills were filthy and spider webs were abundant- even on the refrigerator. While the house was âcleanâ it had likely not been deep cleaned for quite a while. Even the floors were dirty.
The cleaning fee we were charged upon booking did not seem to cover actual cleaning. We were asked to wash our towels and all dishes. However, there was only 1 Tide pod in the cabinet, which was not helpful for doing our own laundry.
While we enjoyed our time in the mountains, we would not stay here again.
The Cabin was the perfect space for my family in our trip to Dodge Ridge for Skiing. My kids LOVED coming back to the cabin and getting the fire going in the fireplace, curling up on the couch and drinking hot chocolate. It was in such a great a convenient location. We had a great stay here.
Amazing one night stay. The cabin had everything we needed - would have loved to spend more nights.
Itâs a great feeling when a house is stocked with everything you could possibly need and more - extra propane, good grill tools, soap, towels, kitchen tools.
The front deck was perfect for shade during the day, and the back for evening once it cooled off outside.
Water cooled AC unit in the master was very nice.
