Beautiful, historic 120-year-old renovated farmhouse on private acres with an amazing view! Two story, 2750 sq ft home features 4 bedrooms, 3 full baths, spacious living room with fireplace and a dining room that comfortably seats 8. A large game room with board games, a pool table, poker table, and 50" TV with PlayStation 4 will satisfy all family fun and gaming needs! The house also offers a large deck to gather for the great view as well as a charcoal grill for barbecuing, a hot tub for relaxing, a spacious outdoor shower and a fire pit for roasting marshmallows!
The small creek on the property offers the opportunity to try your luck at bass fishing (bring your own fishing gear or ask about rentals) as well as the ability to launch a kayak for short paddle to explore the creek . Walking trails along the creek and around the property offer the ability to get some exercise and take in the clean Virginia air.
While we are known as a great place to get away from the busy life and simply relax and enjoy the peace and quiet, there are plenty of activities and adventures well within reach. James River State Park is a quick 5 minutes away for those that are interested in river kayaking, canoeing, tubing, fishing, hiking and exploring (kayak, tubes and canoe rentals offered at the park). Popular day trips within 30 minutes to an hour include attractions such as the Appomattox Court House, Holliday Lake State Park, South Pedlar ATV trails for ATV enthusiasts, several Golf Courses, Wineries and Breweries (check out Amherst!). In addition we are an hour or less from some of the most prestigious schools on the east coast including University of Virginia, Lynchburg University, Liberty University, Hampden-Sydney College, Randolph, Sweet Briar College and Longwood University. We are just slightly over an hour the Blue Ridge Parkway, Natural Bridge, Virginia Safari Park, Patrick Henry's Red Hill Estate, Liberty Mountain Snowflex (year-round skiing, snowboarding and tubing regardless of temperature or weather) and Wintergreen Ski Resort (a scenic drive of only 1 hour and 15 minutes). Other activities could include taking in a live performance at Wolfbane Productions in Appomattox, just 12 miles away or taking some adult beverage tasting at any of the dozens of wineries, breweries, and distilleries. Local farm markets are another past time with many options on the weekends. Saunders Brothers is a local favorite open weekdays featuring house made ice cream and local pasture raised meats.
