Welcome to the elegant and luxurious Buddha House at Mauna Lani

THE BUDDHA HOUSE
This 3BR/3.5 Bath duplex at The Villages at Mauna Lani is luxuriously decorated, offering a peaceful and elegant oasis for you to relax in style. As our guest, you will also have access to the Mauna Lani Residents Beach Club and their private parking lot above the beach, and Napua restaurant. The Villages is located near Foodland Farms, which offers a gourmet selection of meat, fish, baked goods, liquor and wine.

THE SPACE
Our 2174 sq. foot duplex townhouse has a Primary Bedroom with a Tempur-pedic Cal King bed with a remote-controlled adjustable power base. The downstairs Guest Bedroom has a King sized bed, and the upstairs Office has an Queen-size Italian Murphy Bed which is very comfortable. All bedrooms have "en suite" bathrooms with Toto wash-lets and walk-in showers. You may park up to two cars outside in our private driveway.

OUR HOME IS YOUR HOME
This is our primary residence, and we only rent it out if we are traveling. We have furnished our home to make it both relaxing and elegant, with comfortable furniture from Restoration Hardware, Design Within Reach, and Room and Board. We have a large collection of original artwork, including oil paintings by renowned local artists Peter Hayward and Daryl Hill, photographs of David Bowie by Gavin Evans and Fernando Aceves, a pair of antique hammered tin ponies from Chiang Mai, which were a gift from the King of Thailand to the British Ambassador, numerous hand-woven silk tapestries from Luang Prabang, Laos and, of course, the magnificent 600 lb. giant buddha head from Cambodia, gracing our living room. We are happy to share our house with you for a memorable and unique experience in Hawai`i. Please be good stewards of this property and treat it like your own.

MAUNA LANI RESIDENTS BEACH CLUB
Guests will also have a Beach Access Card which allows them to park one vehicle in the private lot at the Mauna Lani Residents Beach Club - making going to the beach most convenient. As our guest you are welcome to use the chaise lounges and cabanas on the beach, and to have lunch and dinner at Napua restaurant overlooking Makaiwa Bay. Reservations highly suggested for dinner. The beach has easy entry with great snorkeling.

THE SHOPS AT MAUNA LANI
Foodland Farms, Tommy Bahamas and other stores are also about a 5 minute walk away at the Shops at Mauna Lani. Foodland Farms has an excellent wine and liquor selection, prosciutto di Parma and other delicacies, and imported cheeses and pates. They also also offer a good selection of prepared foods, deli sandwiches and fresh sushi, and the fish and meat counter makes excellent poke every day. All of this is within easy walking distance from our home at the Villages.

Snorkel Bob's is also a great place to rent snorkeling gear for your stay. We do have some snorkel gear in the garage - but we strongly recommend that you let Snorkel Bob's properly fit your mask and fins. There is nothing worse than a leaky mask, and fins that are too tight or too loose. They will set you up with high quality gear that fits well so you have a great experience in the ocean.

PLEASE NOTE THAT OUR STAND-UP PADDLE BOARDS and our SCUBA EQUIPMENT ARE NOT FOR USE BY GUESTS. You are welcome to use the snorkel gear, Boogie boards, beach chairs, and beach umbrellas.

PLEASE ALSO NOTE - We have a 2025 GEM E4 electric cart, which comfortably seats 4, available for rent at an additional cost. This is great way to get to the Beach Club, Foodland Farms and the rest of the resort. (This GEM cart has replaced the "Moke" which is mentioned in some reviews.)
