On the balcony, we have a angry 8 foot, plastic alligator who looks like he may have just eaten "Florida Man!" There is a 16" golden alligator door pull, a three foot golden alligator in front of the fireplace, and cute stuffed alligators throughout as well as alligator children story books. Oh did, we mention, the alligator downspouts?
-Each room exhibits a painting by legendary local artist A.E. "Bean" Backus (American, 1906-1990), a largely self-taught artist who created iconic images of the timeless beauty of the Florida landscape. Whether in the glades, the beaches, the rivers, the savannas, or the Florida back country, his paintings capture a unique sense of place that is instantly recognizable and beloved. There is also a museum dedicated to his work in Fort Pierce that's worth the trip.
-You are also literally a few minutes from I-95 and the main traffic artery in the area, Okeechobee Road. The property offers outstanding spoke and wheel access to the entire area.

History:
-This historical Mission style building was built in 1925 by farmer merchant Charles Leininger Kegerreis and Mary Kegerreis. Charles who were born in 1865 and died in West Palm Beach in 1954. According to the Palm Beach City Historic Preservation Planner, it is a "local example of a Mission apartment building representative of a period of phenomenal growth in West Palm Beach from 1915 - 1930."
The neighborhood:
-The Golden Alligator is located in the Jefferson Terminal District of West Palm Beach and is just a few blocks away from the Grandview Market, a renovated 13,000-square-foot space showcase for area chefs and live entertainment, Steel Tie Spirits Co. is a family-owned craft distillery thar sells locally crafted rum and vodka, and Steam Horse, which brews high-quality, traditional and experimental craft beers with a spacious 6,000 square-foot tap room. Also called the “Warehouse District”, it’s a combination of industrial offices along the main Okeechobee Rd and residential houses in the back . It’s completely safe and quiet and is even more quiet in the weekend. As more people are interested to live in this interesting area, new apartment buildings are built nearby so you’ll frequently see people walking their dogs or taking a stroll.
Getting around:
-Walking: It’s 8 minute walk to the Grand View Public Market food hall and local breweries and 20 minute walk to downtown entrance.
-City Shuttle: From the food hall, you can walk another 6 minutes to city’s “shuttle zone” behind the Howard Park (Lake/Palm Ave) where you can request to be picked up by the city’s electric car.
