Great cabin, comfortable beds and nice hot tub. Pool area looked nice although we did not use it. Justin is a super host. Very quick turnaround time when you send a message. Couldn’t ask for better communication. Our family loves this area. Have visited a few times and I know we will be back.

The cabin was wonderful, I believe you have a better view of the mountains during the fall and winter when trees dont have many leaves, but overall our stay was very pleasant and we enjoyed our stay! Thank you so much to the hosts!

Everything was beautiful. The only thing that was really more annoying than anything else was that the dryer wasn't working. We could wash clothes but had to hang dry them. We were there for a week so had planned on doing laundry once while there.

Thank you for staying at Bear Essentials Lodge and for the 4‑star review. Glad you found everything beautiful. Sorry the dryer wasn’t working and that you had to hang dry your clothes — that’s inconvenient for a week‑long stay. We’ve reported the issue to our maintenance team and are working to resolve it. Appreciate the feedback and hope to host you again.

Very nice cabin! Loved everything about it! Nice views and loved watching the family of bats taking off every evening from top of the cabin. So cool. Hot tub was warm and cozy. The bathtubs in both big bedrooms were awesome! Close to everything but super quiet!

We had a daughter graduating form UT so we stayed with family in the cabin for a long weekend. This cabin is about 35-40 minutes from UT. Was perfect to get away from the chaos of Knoxville that weekend and be close to attractions and dining in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Hosts were super responsive and the place was very clean. The bedroom and bathroom arrangements were perfect to give everyone their own space and privacy while the common areas perfect for everyone to gather. Had a very fun long weekend stay. We will return and would recommend this cabin for a nice family/friends getaway! Few pics of how we decorated for the graduation events.

Unfortunately, we were extremely disappointed with our stay. The property was not cleaned to the standard we would expect from a vacation rental. There were dead bugs on the beds and in the bathtubs, hair on the floors, and bugs on the curtains. These issues made us uncomfortable and gave us the impression that the property had not been properly cleaned before our arrival. We also lost electricity during our stay, which prevented us from being able to prepare food. What made this even more frustrating was the lack of communication. We were messaging the person we were supposed to contact, but we never received a response. At one point, we honestly questioned whether we were communicating with an automated/AI system because there was no actual help when we needed it. We had also communicated that we needed a late checkout, but again, we never received the assistance or response we needed.Another major disappointment was the condition of the windows. They were extremely dirty, to the point that it was difficult to enjoy the beautiful view that was one of the reasons we chose the property in the first place. We have stayed in many vacation rentals and have never experienced something like this. Between the cleanliness issues, loss of electricity, lack of communication, and dirty windows, the overall experience was extremely disappointing. We expected much better, especially considering the cost of staying here.

Everything other than the hot tub looked clean. The seats in the hot tub was covered in some sort of plant material or something falling in from the cover. It was hard to tell.
