Nestled among the trees, steps away from the lake, this classic Split Rock cottage is your getaway in the middle of it all. Built in 1964, the knotty pine interior harkens back to a simpler time. The natural stone fireplace ignites with the touch of a button. A galley kitchen has all of the necessary tools to make a delicious home-cooked meal. The dining area seats six, and the wood deck and screened-in porch are great in warmer weather. Two bedrooms and one full bath complete the package. The space Enjoy the screened-in porch or the sunny deck. There is also a fire pit for a chilly evening by the fire.
Whitney cottage is so charming and cozy! We loved the house and our stay was great. Mark the host was very responsive and helpful. I particularly loved the design and decor, all remaining true to the original style. Really enjoyed all the little touches, and we had everything we needed! Will definitely recommend and book again!
The cottage is located in a quiet, wooded residential area with easy access to Pocono attractions. When a property is described as "classic" I fear that might mean old and run down. That is certainly NOT the case with this cottage. It definitely has a classic, cabin in the woods feel, but is nicely maintained with modern appliances and bathrooms. Cleanliness is a major factor for me when selecting a property. This cottage gets and A. I was visiting with family in the area and hope to stay here again.
We stayed here during a small snowstorm. Every part of the property and its surroundings are amazingly beautiful. Sitting by the fireplace or on the covered deck while the snow kept falling was dreamlike. The streets are plowed quickly and thoroughly, so the snow is not a problem. The host was very responsive and extremely helpful whenever we reached out with questions.
We stayed at Whitney Cottage for about three months in the winter. The cottage is wonderful, and we loved it the moment we arrived. Everything was clean and orderly, and it was well stocked with everything we could possibly need. Mark Peterson, our host, is as delightful as the cottage. We received a warm welcome, and Mark was extremely helpful and responsive throughout our stay. Lake Harmony is central to everywhere we wanted to go. My husband skied at Jack Frost, which is 10 minutes away, almost every day. We highly recommend Whitney Cottage for both short term and long term stays. We literally booked the cottage for next year after our first week there!
Whitney Cottage was the perfect weekend getaway for us. We came for the wine festival at Split Rock, and the house couldn't have been more conveniently located. The cottage offers plenty of space, a grill and a fire pit, and is so cozy. Mark was a great and very hospitable host. I highly recommend staying here for your Lake Harmony getaways!
I first came to Lake Harmony in 1965 when I visited my grandparents. My family moved here in 1971 and I am very familiar with the area. My education and my career took me to Europe, New York and Los Angeles and I returned to the Lake in 2021. I have traveled extensively, with a background as a hotel concierge. I speak Spanish and French and I love to share my knowledge of the area with people.
I have owned this home since 1997 and it is one of the cutest houses on the street. Just steps away from the lake, nestled among mature trees, Whitney Cottage is a great place to get away from it all. Very quiet and not far from most activities.
Most rental properties are owned by people who do not understand the area. My cottage is cozy, comfortable and perfect for a couple or a single person. I care about the people who stay and my cottage and I want everyone to have the best experience possible.
