I want to clarify a few points for future guests who may read this. Water Temperature: The lukewarm shower water was caused by a mechanical issue with the tub handle. The hot‑water stop had snapped, which allowed the handle to turn past the true maximum‑hot position. When rotated fully left, it actually moved into a range where cold water mixed back in, making the hottest setting appear lukewarm even though the home had full hot water available. I discovered this issue in late June and repaired it immediately. Communication: I never received any message from you during your stay regarding water temperature, cleaning concerns, or bedding odor. When guests notify me during their visit, I always respond promptly and address issues in real time. Floors / Barefoot Discoloration: We sweep and mop thoroughly after every checkout. The floors were clean. However, Bona and other wax‑based hardwood products can still discolor bare feet even when the surface is fully clean. This is a characteristic of the finish, not a cleanliness problem. Bedding: I respectfully disagree that the bedding smelled of cigarettes. Without any notification during your stay, I wasn’t able to inspect the linens with you or address the concern while you were on site. I appreciate that this guest felt the property did not meet their personal expectations. However, I do feel that the 4‑star rating was beyond accurate and crossed into vindictive territory, especially given the lack of communication during the stay and the factual context provided above.

The house is well located, well appointed but as you point out it is a little dated, which is reflected in the lower price point.

Twyla, thanks for your stay and thank your husband for the repair. We have been having an issue with the disposal jamming. Its really not meant to grind food into a septic tank. I'd like to just leave the disposal but have it not used but I'll have to replumb it so that people dont put food down the drain.
