Sassy Seahorse is a beautifully designed and well-appointed five-bedroom, five-bathroom pet-friendly home in the heart of Port Aransas. Steps to the beach, minutes to downtown Port A with its amazing shopping, dining, and entertainment, this home is perfectly located.

When you step inside, you’ll find a spacious floor plan with comfortable living room seating, perfect for a movie night with the family. A large game room with a pool table and extra seating is a great place to end the evening. Prepare meals in the modern and upscale kitchen, fully stocked for the chef in your life. The kitchen island features butcher block countertops and can seat a crowd! Upstairs, you’ll find a second living area with a flat-screen TV, kitchenette and a dining area that seats four guests. At Sassy Seahorse, you’ll find bedrooms with modern coastal décor and comfortable bedding. The house has a great layout and the pool area gets lots of sun! The kitchen island is huge! The house clearly has been a favorite place to stay and it is starting to show. The house has a lot of paint, scratches and wall dents. The furniture is well used and could use an upgrade. Additional towels would have been nice but we washed ours so it ended up not being an issue. All in all it was a good house!

Property was clean and tidy. Loved that it was pet friendly as family that normally watches each others little dogs were all down there so having a pet friendly place to stay was excellent. Pool was nice and cool on warm days.

So close to the beach

This was a lovely house, perfect for our group of 12. The amenities are a bit lacking, but overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The back yard was a great space for our dog to stretch his legs, but it hadn’t been mowed recently and was full of stickers. With a few improvements this has the potential to be the perfect beach retreat.

Large size for bigger groups. Private pool a plus. Charges a cleaning fee but home was still dirty. Cleaned ourselves. Picture of dustpan is just the small entry not whole home. Mildew in dishwasher leaving odd smell on dishes when washed. All counter spaces, island, and table in main kitchen sticky to touch. Broken blinds in Master suite. Open Cabinet above kitchen sink had active slow dripping leaking from ceiling area.

Cleanliness a Concern

The house is large and can accommodate large groups. The pool in backyard is good for entertaining kids, however be careful stepping into the grass barefoot as there are sharp stickers everywhere. Cleanliness of home was a major concern. Dishwasher has mildew and rust. All counter spaces and tables were sticky. Couch in pool room is broken. Arcade game advertised in listing does not work and pool cues are in bad condition so you cannot use the table. A/C stopped working on the second night in the left side of the house. There is an active drip in the cabinets above the sink in the kitchen. The place needs some serious TLC.

Overall a super cool place to stay that’s close to the beach. The game room was great for the kids! Loved the floor plan. Only one extra blanket in the entire house so if you need/want more, bring your own or maybe this feedback will be well received. Also, the yard had a ton of stickers which didn’t work well with my dog or with the kiddos so hopefully the property manager can just ensure this gets mowed a little lower or more frequently to make that better. Again, overall this was a GREAT spot and would def book again!

Annual Family Beach Trip

Over all the house was perfect for my family. We had enough room and all the bathrooms were a huge plus. We loved the pool table and all the sitting areas we had to relax and enjoy each other's company. It's a short drive to the beach and the golf cart was a lot of help. I can definitely see us using this house again next year for our family vacation

We had a large group stay the weekend for a bachelorette celebration and this house could not have been more perfect! Plenty of room to entertain but also great areas for people to go off if they wanted privacy. The private pool and included beach cart were amazing added features. The staff also could not have been more pleasant to work with. We had an altercation with a hostile neighbor and management assured us that authorities had been notified and even stopped by a couple days later to make sure we hadn't been bothered again. Couldn't recommend more.

Then only issue we had was communicating accurate codes and passwords. There were no kitchen linens or a broom or dust pan I would highly recommend this home. Big and beautiful for sure!

Large Home & Pool

The home was very large and spacious, with a nice sized back yard area which included a pool. We chose for it to be heated, which made it very comfortable. It was close to the beach and located in a quieter neighborhood. We've rented several homes in Port A, and in comparison to other rentals this home is stocked with just the very basics. Bring your own pool towels and pool toys (we left a few toys in the closet leading to the pool). There were zero kitchen towels or washcloths (we purchased some and left them there). The stove was extremely unlevel and the ice maker was not working upon arrival (we fixed both). The coffee pot was cracked and shattered in the corner, but they did have a Keurig to use instead. Also, beware of the extensive burrs in all grass areas!

Completley Overpriced for what it is.

For this property, I would sum it up in one word: Overpriced. The house is on the market ($1.4 Million--not worth it) and apparently they just don't care about keeping it up. Here's a quick list of things that were wrong: 1. The place was not clean. At all. Bed linen was filthy. Stained and hair everywhere. 2. Floors were extremely sandy and caked on dirt in the corners. 3. Internet was spotty at best. In and out. Main living room TV was basically useless due to the lack of wifi. 4. Sand throughout the pool. 5. Yard was un-mowed and overgrown until the 3rd day when they showed up to cut it. Even then the amount of sticker burs and old dog poop in the yard made it unusable. 6. Keeping the doors closed was difficult unless you physically locked them. They would just pop open due to age and wear and tear. 7. Also, the doors leading out to the pool were installed incorrectly. The hinges are located outside the house! To break in, all you would have to do is remove the three hinge bolts and then remove the door. 8. Pool table is completely trashed. Felt is super old and ripped. The three pool cues there, only one has a tip. 9. The kitchen has minimal cooking pans and utensils. 10. We had rewash all the plates and glasses that we used because they were not clean we arrived. Spend your money somewhere else.

We enjoyed the home. It was very spacious and comfortable. The yard was a complete mess. The grass was very high and full of sticker burrs. I filled a trash can full of the burrs just so our dogs could go potty without having to pull stickers out of their paws and fur. Our Yorker almost disappearedin the high weeds

Everything was great, lots of room! Will Want to stay again but you need to hire a exterminator. Roach droppings when we got to the house in the pantry. And saw large roaches in the pantry later and in the jack and Jill restroom Small roaches in several places around the house. Maybe not in infestation but enough that they were seen several times during our stay.

Perfect Location and Size

My family and I enjoyed this home. Not far at all from the beach. The only thing was I was not able to communicate with the property manager. The golf cart had trouble starting a few times. But those rentals are all over the place so we rented a couple more. Overall we'll hopefully be able to return to this same house. We have rented others near by, but this one was PERFECT!

September 2020

We celebrated our 27th Wedding Anniversary this year with our closest friends and family. We do this every year. It's our Couples Retreat! The house was amazing and better in person than the pictures show. The only issue we had was roaches, beetles and plumbing problems. The management company took over 24 hours to fix the plumbing. I called 4 times. They never sent anyone or called about our concerns with the bugs. They were everywhere especially at night! I should be compensated.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Over all, the stay was very nice. The layout of the house was perfect, location was great! When we walked in, we had to put furniture, chairs and barstools in their place. Same with nightstands. There was not even enough towels, wash cloths or hand towels available but they did deliver some. There was a live silverfish big in one bed, so new sheets were delivered. The floors still had sand on them in some areas which we cleaned before family arrived. The BBQ grill was horrible so we cleaned it before we used it then again when we were done. We picked up some left over trash in the backyard too. The front of the refrigerator and dishwasher was not clean either which we tried to keep clean throughout our stay. The dryer lint trap was dirty which we cleaned and continued to clean as we used it. All the decorative pillows were pretty much in disarray so we put all those in place before we left. All in all, other than towels and sheets, we left the house in better condition both inside and outside, than it was when we first walked in. We even re-arranged the items on the shelves under the kitchen island because everything was just pretty much tossed in there. Same with items on the open shelves in the kitchen.
