Historic updated cottage walking distance from the pool!
Space for everyone at The Sleeping Inn on Walnut. First floor master bedroom with on suite. Four bedrooms upstairs with two full bathrooms. Watch movies in the family room, relax with a good book in the sitting room, or enjoy the summer breeze on the screened porch. Large yard for outside play and just a short walk to the pool and wellness center. The perfect home for making Lakeside memories.
This is a wonderful home to stay at. With five adult adults and two toddlers, there was plenty of room for sleeping and a nice amount of space for the little ones to play when we were inside (averaged 90 the week we were there!). There are many modern updates, yet it has the feel of a Lakeside cottage at the same time, which is the perfect balance. The kitchen was well-supplied, and the cleaning was immaculate. It was our second year to stay here, and we hope to come again. The owners are great to work with â the whole process was very easy and welcoming. You will love your stay here!
We had an absolutely amazing stay in this gorgeous home in Lakeside! The owner communicated readily with us. Was prompt in answering questions. The house is clean and very comfortable. It was well stocked with what we needed to stay, including pots, pans, utensils, air fryer. We enjoyed the fire pit in the back yard!! Wish it had a grill. But no complaints!
We really enjoyed our stay in your lovely vacation cottage. Three very small issues: 1. The door knob in the first floor bathroom needs to be tightened. My husband said he would have fixed it if he had an Allen wrench.2. The upstairs main bathroom had a small leak under the sink. Some of your paperwork that was there was soaked. My husband did tighten it for you. 3. The refrigerator door clicks when you open it.We couldnât figure out the source of it but you probably want to check it out. We are interested in staying again. Is the week of July 18th to the 25th of 2026 available?Thank you again. Our family had a really nice family week together.
Seven adults thoroughly enjoyed this clean and comfortable house, which was well-stocked with extra supplies, including laundry detergent, toilet paper, foil, saran wrap, games and puzzles, mints, spices, and condiments. It has large family room with a huge TV, a nice porch to relax in, a living room, and dining room. The beds were comfortable and the bedding upscale. There is a small backyard with enough room to kick around a ball or play the paddle game we found in the shed. The house is quiet and in a great location. It is close to everything - just up the road from Hoover Auditorium, and even closer to the building with art classes. It is a couple of blocks from the pool, exercise facility, and pickleball and tennis courts. We just walked down the street to the shops and Orchestra Hall. There was no need to rent a golf cart.Dennis was responsive and helpful. I would definitely try to rent this home again the next time we come to Lakeside!
We have been going to Lakeside for years and this house was by far the nicest house we have stayed in. Down side it was a little farther from the lake then we would have liked, but we made it work. We definitely would stay here again.
Our stay included 2 grandparents, a daughter, her two small children, and an older granddaughter. When we entered the house, we were immediately pleased with the smell and the cleanliness that greeted us. For a group our size, it was the perfect roomy space, and the more we explored, the happier we became - the amenities they had thoughtfully included were so impressive! If I had to mention anything helpful to future renters, it was quite a lot of extra packing to bring all the bedding and bathroom towels for 5 bedrooms and 4 baths, but doable. Renting them from the local linen service might be a better option. Overall, it was a wonderful week and we hope we will be able to return to this house next year!
We were going to Lakeside for my parentâs 50th anniversary. In the house we had 6 adults and 5 kids. There was plenty of space for all. The room with 2 sets of bunk beds was so fun for the cousins! Walking/biking to restaurants and shops, as well as the pool was do-able even for the littlest cousin (almost 4).
The house was super clean, and the bathrooms were updated and beautiful. When we accidentally locked a bathroom door from the inside, the owner responded immediately to the VRBO app message.
Wonderful stay! Would đŻ stay here again!! :)
We stay every year at Lakeside and this was the perfect property for us to enjoy our week! It is a beautiful home, very clean and plenty of space. We appreciated the opportunity to stay!
The house was spacious and very comfortable for the 11 of us. More than enough bathrooms. Fully equipped kitchen, and nice laundry room. Huge fire pit with chairs. Adequate driveway parking for 3 cars. 2 porchesâ1 screened. Great air conditioning. Conveniently located to lake, swimming pool, art center, farmers market and hiking path. Removed from the more touristy center of townâbut the shops were easy to get to. Quiet and peaceful.
On the negative side, the upstairs bedrooms were on the small side, the beds were a little softer than my liking, and youâll have to provide your own bed linens and towels. But the negatives were not enough to offset the many positive features of this house. I recommend it.
