My family stayed here for a spring weekend at Lakeside. We really enjoyed this cottage and the location is excellent! A short walk to downtown and very close to the walkway by the lake. Loved and spent a lot of time on the enclosed patio. My family was very comfortable and everyone had their own space to relax. The owners had excellent communication. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone staying at Lakeside and we would definitely return to this place for another stay. Thank you!!
Beautifully furnished cottage ideally located close to the lake and lakefront activities, the Lakeside shopping district and the Lakeside Hotel. Highly recommended!
This beautifully furnished cottage was the perfect retreat for our stay at Lakeside! Just steps away from the serene shores of Lake Erie, the home provided a quiet and relaxing escape. The open and inviting layout made it easy to unwind, and the first-floor master suiteâwith its attached walk-in showerâadded an extra layer of convenience and comfort.Everything about this cottage felt thoughtfully designed, from the cozy furniture to the well-insulated walls that kept outside noise to a minimum, even with construction happening along the street. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring restful nights, and the spacious living areas made it feel like home.Beyond the home itself, the owners were fantasticâresponsive and accommodating, always quick to answer any questions we had. This cottage truly exceeded our expectations, and we can't wait to return!
This home is exactly as described and was perfect for two families (4 adults and 4 children) over Memorial Day Weekend. The location was amazing, and the owner is very helpful and communicative! We loved our time there!
This is a beautiful cottage literally steps away from
Lake Erie. It is decorated with a lake theme and the large kitchen is well stocked with everything you might need. We loved everything about the house and highly recommend it.
Great location..... close to the lake, conveniently located near restaurants and activities, yet quiet and relaxing as it was out of the hustle and bustle. Loved sitting on the front porch with family, catching up and playing games. Owners were very responsive and easy to contact with questions. We plan to be back!!!
This place was so perfect for our family during our stay at Lakeside! It is an amazing location, very clean, great amenities, and overall a 5 star rating. Communication with the owners was easy. We had no issues during our stay. We will definitely be back and would love to rent this wonderful house again. Thank you to the Stahlâs for such a great place!
We were very lucky to be able to rent this last minute and of the dozens of places we've rented at Lakeside over the years, this may be the best. It was perfect for our group. I especially appreciated the first floor master suite and attached walk-in shower for my dad who has significant mobility issues. It made it possible for him to come. You cannot beat this location. Beds were comfortable, AC worked well (not always a guarantee at Lakeside). Kitchen had everything you could want (except a vegetable peeler... so bring your own if it is important to you!) Layout is open and breezy. There is plenty of space for people to eat together. Everything was super clean. We were all so happy we got to stay here.
This home has been beautifully updated. I was a little nervous about the porch and 2nd floor bedrooms having individual split AC systems. I wasnât sure the whole house would feel air conditioned. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the home felt as if it had central air.
Our multigenerational family of 11 shared this home & we all loved it and hope to rent it again next year! The extra half bath off the living/dining area was key. All 3 bathrooms are very new, the open kitchen is ideal, and the first floor master with en-suite puts this rental home above so many others in the Lakeside community. The washer, dryer, outdoor side patio with tables & grill, plus the 3 bikes are all huge bonuses. Itâs really neat to stay in a house that dates back to 1878, but wonderfully, the interior finishes make it hard to believe that the home is almost 150 years old!
Clean and Well Supplied - This One Was Perfect for Our Family!
We loved our stay at this lovely house and were so grateful for all of the extras that the owners provided for us! From a fully stocked kitchen to including hand soaps in the bathrooms this one was definitely THE best rental we have had in Lakeside. It was nice to have dishes that all matched and that were in great shape.
The location was also perfect for us --close to the lake and dock, close to downtown area and quiet while we were there. The furniture and beds were comfy and the addition of the gas grill was a bonus for meal time.
The addition of a couple of mirrors in the upstairs bedrooms would have helped keep the bathroom freed up a little more more but that was really the only suggestion that we had for the owners and that was a minor thing.
Loved our time here and spent a great deal of time on the lovely porch -- A+ rental!
We loved this cottage. The beds were comfortable, the porch was our favorite spot (especially on really hot days we could turn on AC on porch!). We would return for sure. Good wifi too! I worked remotely all week and never had a problem.
This is such a cute house and itâs very close to the lake. It was nicely updated and very clean. Itâs in a great location: we were able to walk to all the restaurants, shops, and parks. The owners were very friendly and got back to us right away with any questions we had. We especially loved the front porch/sunroom. We had our 6 and 3 yr old with us and they really enjoyed it as well. It was a little extra work in packing our own sheets and towels, but with COVID and everything I really didnât mind. We will definitely be back!
Great location within steps to the lakeside walking path and short walk to the shops. Very lovely cottage recently updated. Would definitely reserve this house again
Clean, well appointed , newly updated cottage that was in a terrific location - steps to the Lake and downtown. We loved the front porch and especially the swing. Comfortable open living with ample space for our part of 6.
The house is updated and clean and in my opinion is on the perfect block in Lakeside. A close walk to the center but on a âno outletâ block leading to the lake so itâs nice and quiet with almost no street traffic. We spent our mornings and evenings gathered on the screened porch discussing our plans for the day and catching up on family business. We took long walks on the path along the lake (just at the end of the street), spent our days playing shuffleboard and mini golf as well as renting kayaks, sailboats and paddle boards. The house is quaint but updated and had plenty of room for our family. I would definitely recommend this property for any group looking to enjoy Lakeside. We hope to return either next summer or in 2023!
Karen and Phil Stahl grew up in Bellevue Ohio and currently live in Huntsville Alabama. Karen is a retired 8th grade Family and Consumer Sciences teacher. Phil designs and builds space telescopes for NASA - including the Webb Space Telescope. We have three children and 4 grand-children (hoping for more). We like to travel the world â particularly Europe â yet feel deeply rooted to Ohio. Our families have been here since the 1800s and we and our children attended college here: Wittenberg, Ohio State, Miami, Wittenberg and Denison. When we lived in Connecticut, every summer we took our kids to âFamily Campâ at Camp Quinipet on Shelter Island. Now, we are looking forward to sharing Lakeside with our Grand-Children.
We fell in love with Lakeside several years ago and purchased Blue Jasmine at 140 Jasmine in 2017. When 159 Jasmine came available (across the street), we could not resist. It is very cute, has a great sitting porch. Its first floor bedroom is a convenience. And the first block of Jasmine is the best location in Lakeside - quite location close to the lake; close to Central Park with its play ground, putt-putt, shuffle board and band stand; close to downtown shopping, restaurants, ice cream and Orchestra Hall movie theater. But most important is the Lakeside Chautauqua with its organized activities and programs for all ages. See their website for details.
After buying 159 Jasmine, we completely renovated it. We literally ripped the middle out of the house and rebuilt the kitchen, added an en-suite to the primary bedroom, added a new upstairs bed room and full bath, and created a half bath and laundry.
