Charming farm cottage with mountain views

Enjoy a private wilderness getaway and unwind on a beautiful working farm. Your private cottage is located on Putney Mountain in Brookline VT. This charming dwelling offers an outdoor grill on a large deck with field and forest views. Enjoy watching the cows and sheep in nearby pastures, and the sun setting on nearby mountains. The space is radiant floor heated in the winter and VT cool in the summer. Electric car charging on request is available. This location is perfect for nature lovers, with a local rivers and miles of trails nearby for hiking and mountain biking. Stratton Mt and Mt Snow are only a half hour away and nearby lakes and rivers are perfect for canoeing and kayaking.

Great Stay, Fantastic Host, Fun Ski Trip.

The property was perfect for our family of 4. Comfortable inside and the grounds and view were beautiful. Little town with a great market and restaurants 8 minute away and 40 minutes from 2 great skiing options. Johnny was a great host. He invited us to meet and feed the animals one morning and gave us a tour of his art studio. He could not of been more accommodating and friendly with our family and dog. We hope to go back.

Quiet, peaceful cabin in a lovely location

We enjoyed a lovely Christmas getaway here. Beautiful setting with mountain views and truly spectacular stars at night - there was so little light pollution we could even make out the shape of the milky way! And the silence was absolute - so peaceful! Sara and Johnny were very responsive and helpful hosts!

Such an enjoyable stay!

We really enjoyed our stay here! Sara and Johnny were phenomenal hosts. The house was very clean and comfortable. The area and fall foliage were beautiful! We got to participate in feeding the farm animals in the morning which was so cool to see. Great for any age!

Amazing property with sweeping views

Amazing cozy cottage set in a beautiful agricultural setting. Turn off the paved road, ramble up the mountain and turn into this lovely space with sweeping views and good neighbors (the cows and sheep). Be sure this rural space will help you relax and recharge. Lovely hosts, clean and organized space.

Comfortable and relaxing

Cute cottage in the middle of a working farm. Perfect setting for Vermont. Could use more seating in living room but it was fine for the 2 of us. Overall we enjoyed it and will definitely consider again for next fall.

3 nights in August!

We had a great stay and Johnny was a gracious host. Beautiful view from the deck and lots of great hiking nearby. Bottle feeding the lambs in the evening was an unexpected bonus. We'd definitely return for another stay in the future.

Fantastic little retreat spot

The location is idyllic, the hosts are extremely friendly and helpful and the actual house is really clean, neat and serene. I'll definitely be coming back!

Good retreat

We rented the property for a weekend of skiing. Found it to be a great, quiet retreat. Hosts were great to deal with, and we'd be glad to book again.

Relaxing getaway

This was a perfect, relaxing cottage for our short get away in VT! Everything was clean and inviting and Sara was super friendly and helpful with recommendations. The Mountain View’s were lovely and the cows and sheep made excellent neighbors:)

A lovely little getaway

Johnny and Sara are generous and delightful hosts! The cottage is situated perfectly on their lovely property, offering stunning sunset views and ample peace and quiet. A perfect place to get away from the screens and relax in nature.

Very cute place

The home had a lot of charm. Very comfortable beds, clean, on a cool farm and dog friendly. Johnny was extremely helpful with any info we needed. Would def stay there again. It also had everything we needed to cook our meals. We used it to go to MT Snow which was a quick 25 minute ride.

Fabulous spot

We had a great stay at this charming farm cottage. Great location to explore VT, NH, and MA. Sara and Johnny are great hosts and genuinely nice people. They are very attentive without being intrusive. The view from the back deck is beautiful with amazing sunsets. Being greeted by the cows and sheep in the morning was really fun for us.

Peaceful country stay

We enjoyed the cottage so much. We are city folk and the natural setting, sheep and cows included , was a respite from a long few days of driving. Bed was comfortable, and the place was tidy and clean with interesting art work throughout. Also I had left a valuable item there, and our hosts were gracious about sending it back. Highly recommend this property.

Idyllic Farm Stay

This was such a lovely stay. The cottage is clearly such a labour of love for Johnny and Sara. It's designed to maximise light and air in a small space and you can tell that Johnny is an artist/designer from how beautifully it is laid out and decorated. It's simple but really comfortable. The big sell for us was the incredible deck: we spent a lot of time on that. We and our two year-old really loved seeing the lambs, sheep, and cows. Johnny and Sara were friendly and helpful but not obtrusive. A really relaxing short getaway in a peaceful setting.

Beautiful guest house in excellent location

I had a lovely 2 night stay surrounded by beautiful foliage. The hosts were amazingly gracious, even dropping off an upgraded router for the wifi. The bed was comfortable and there was more than enough space. And, the maple syrup was almost thoughtful! I look forward to returning next year. Thank you for a wonderful weekend!

Outstanding

The farm cottage exceeded our expectations. Johnny is the best host we’ve ever had. He has an amazing property and made us feel welcome. His metal work is top notch and there are many treasures around the property to check out. He recommended a fun hike to a camp with great mountain views. The animals felt like part of our crew. And the maple syrup he gave us hit the spot. He is living his best life and we had a blast getting to enjoy it for a few days. Very clean, comfortable and relaxing.

Snowy getaway

Sara and Johnny were excellent hosts! We were their first guests and they made sure to check in on us to make sure we had everything we needed. The house sits on a beautiful hilltop with gorgeous views. We stayed during a snowstorm and they ensured to have our path plowed out so we could easily get to the mountain. Unlike most homes, the bed was extremely comfortable! Would definitely stay again!

Wonderful winter stay!

We loved our time here! The hosts were very friendly, communicated well and went the extra mile to make sure our stay was special. The property is beautiful- as a New England native, I felt like I was getting a great mini-vacation right in my own backyard. The cabin itself was gorgeous- I loved the rustic feel - the exposed beams and fabulous art. The working farm was a fantastic bonus! I loved watching the animals in the morning. Would suggest this property to anyone looking to really get away from it all. Worth every penny!
