Communications with the host were easy and answers came quickly. Good without being intrusive! Excellent recommendations for enjoying the town and the general area. We (a couple) shared the house (large and comfortable, lots of stairs which is a plus for people who love houses with steps!) with good friends (a couple) - one full bath and a powder room (with shower). Staying in this property in Marblehead was a complete delight.
Marblehead is a small, quiet and historic town. The house is located right across the street from Abbott Hall where the Spirit of 76 Museum is. We had all the comforts of home, like A/C, even though it was an older home ⊠it had great ambience. We spent a lot of time in the dining room at the large family table, catching up and playing board games (many provided). This kitchen had everything you could need to make a large family meal. We went grocery shopping at the quaint Crosbyâs Marketplace the first day, and ate breakfast and most dinners at the house to save money. It felt centrally located. We spent a day at Devereux Beach, and hopped on the Lynn Ferry to go to downtown Boston to experience the Freedom Trail. We also went to Salem for the Witch Trial Museum as well as the Salem Maritime Museum, recommended by John. My high school teacher son loved the Customs House where Nathaniel Hawthorne wrote. We also took in a Red Sox game at Fenway. Thereâs so much to do that I recommend at least 6 days there. John was very responsive and helpful when we were planning our trip, as well as after when we left an item in a rush to leave and catch our flight. I highly recommend staying at his adorable, historical home!
Perfect place for our school reunion. Plenty of room, centrally located. Kitchen was very well stocked. John was very responsive whenever we had a question. Very comfortable place and we would stay there again!
This is such a a cool house right in the heart for Marblehead! You could not ask for a better location. The house was comfortable and clean with all the amenities you would expect. The owner went above and beyond to keep us comfortable during the recent heat wave.
Family trip of 6 enjoyed a great week in Marblehead! The house was perfect for our group. Everyone had their own space and plenty of room in living and dining rooms. The character of the house was perfect for the area! Walkable to cute shops and great restaurants. Close to beach! We even took a bus from town to the train station and spent the day in Boston. John was a great host! He supplied area information and responded quickly to questions.
This vacation home in historic downtown Marblehead MA, is lovely and so charming. It has original beautiful wood-workk throughout and has very comfortable beds and extremely clean with new living room furnitures. The owner, John was very nice to communicate with and shared helpful information. You will be pleased staying in this home which has the most perfect downtown location where you can walk everywhere in the beautiful Marblehead town.
Wonderfully placed in the middle of historic Marblehead, walking distance to practically everything of interest, plus a supermarket and restaurants. Lovely old (well, obviously) house, well-appointed and charming. Still had all the modern amenities as well. Any building of such age is going to have its idiosyncrasies, like banging your head a few times if you're over 6". (And have to mention that being next door to Abbott Hall means being next to Abbott Hall's belltower!) But things that matter, like appliances, water, and heating, were all fine. Television and internet worked fine; furniture was clean and comfortable. Communications with the owner were regular and clear from start to finish. Spectacular place to stay, no question.
Our family was very pleased with the house and the location which is lovely and convenient to stores, restaurants and the coast. John was a great host.
A very nice home in the historic area of Marblehead. Walking dustance to shops and restaurants. A perfect home with plenty of space for our famiky to celebrate Christmas
Great location. We stayed here to attend a wedding in nearby Salem Mass. Amenities were plentiful. TVs had lots of streaming choices as well as local cable TV. Highly rated recommended and great communication with John the owner. Iâm
This listing and the town of Marblehead are stunning. It gave us the fall vibes we were looking for. Got around easy with Uber. John was excellent to work with and help us out with a late check out because of a flight delay. I would recommend this listing to anyone. Margie
The four of us stayed here for the week of Halloween. The close distance to Salem along with the short walk to plenty of shops in downtown Marblehead made it the perfect location.
John was very helpful and made for an easy check in and check out.
The house was amazing, with plenty of room for four people to move around comfortably and well equipped for the breakfasts we cooked and the chicken we grilled.
I would definitely recommend staying here.
Fabulous location, charming historical home. The street parking is generous and you should have no problems finding parking. We had a memorable dinner down the street at Five Corners Kitchen, didnât even have to drive since itâs a five minute walk. Landlord was very friendly and extremely responsive. Wonderful stay!
John is a wonderful host! We loved the house and its location was great. Marblehead is such a beautiful town rich in history. Easy ride from Marblehead to Salem. Beaches are within walking distance as well as several restaurants.
The host was extremely organized and helpful with tons of information. He even called to discuss the details of our stay. His home was charming beyond belief. None of us wanted to leave. I will book this home in Marblehead every time I am in the area! Such a wonderful experience!!
We absolutely loved this place! The house was beautiful and spacious. It had the aestetic of a Victorian, but with conveniences like an updated kitchen, washer/dryer, and a smart TV in the living room. It's also surrounded by colonial homes- some dating back to the early 1700s, which I found to be so cool to see! The location is absolutely perfect. I'm very glad we stayed in Marblehead instead of Salem. Salem brings huge crowds on the weekend, even in September. I liked being able to retreat from the crowds back to Marblehead. The house is less than 15 minutes from Salem, so you get the best of both worlds.
John, the owner, was very kind, accommodating, and always available for any questions. The check-in process was smooth.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was perfect for my wife, our pups, and me. The little fenced-in side yard was super convenient, and the neighborhood is very dog-friendly. The house is cozy and the bed was comfortable. The location is great. It was a short drive to Salem. The commuter rail from Salem to Boston is easy and did not take too long. John is an excellent communicator, and check-in was easy. Would definitely stay again.
I was visiting town with family and have lots of family in town. The house is perfectly situated next to Abbot Hall steps from both old town as well as the downtown shops and restaurants.
Parking was easy, check in was easy and the house had everything we could need. It also had several charming outdoor spaces for coffee or reading.
Thank you John for your kind thoughtful hospitality
