We stayed at the Casa Diamante for Spring Break. Three familes with our senior sons. The place was fantastic. Exceeded all expectations. The views spectacular. We saw every bird, all kinds of monkeys and a sloth from our patios. Pool was excellent. Host was also amazing.
The location, the view, the staff, the manager, I do not know where to start because everything was perfect.
We had monkeys, three toe sloths, birds coming to the house every single day.
Everything about this place will leave me in awe for years. Let me just say, the best staff I have ever seen. They work hands on and daily and made it their mission to keep us the most comfortable and safe for our entire trip.
If that was not enough, the view speaks for itself and is to die for.
We have just returned from a wonderful week at Casa Diamante. The spacious house was perfect for our extended family of 10. It was clean and well furnished. The housekeeper and grounds keeper were great. Alex our concierge was really great. He was always available helping us set up excursions, shuttles, taxis, dinner reservations, etc. The house is in a good location, but it is on a very steep hill, so we would take a shuttle or taxi to various sites. The house has a great view, and we saw macaws, toucans, monkeys, iguanas, and sloths.
Everyone had their own space + plenty of common space. we had teens and elementary age kids, early morning people and late night people. it all worked. we saw sloths in the backyard and walked to the beach. it was a wonderful Costa Rica adventure.
Perfect place to stay in Manuel Antonio!
Walking distance to numerous restaurants and beaches! And an amazing view of Manuel Antonio National Park.
All staff made us feel at home and welcome and were a huge help with any questions we had.
We loved swimming in the pool every day!
Everything was clean and just like the pictures.
We were 14 family members ages 3 to 77 for a week after Christmas. The highlights are the pool and the 3rd floor deck and living room with a gorgeous view of the ocean and forest. Watching the wildlife was fantastic: caracaras came to sit on the railing, toucans and macaws regularly flew by and perched in nearby trees, and howler, capuchino, and squirrel monkeys would come to investigate. The house is huge with plenty of bedrooms and space for everyone to spread out - although we usually congregated around the pool or the large 3rd floor deck and living room. The housekeeper cleaned daily and the groundskeeper kept the pool and outdoor grill pristine. Communication with the manager was fantastic - he arranged a cook for several meals and kayak, zipline, and rafting tours and was available on short notice for questions. For example, the icemaker stopped working and he had two bags of ice delivered very quickly. There were plenty of good quality eating utensils, cups, and glasses in both the 3rd floor kitchen and in the outdoor kitchen by the pool, but - to be picky - the cooking facilities on the upper level could be upgraded for serious foodies. There are plenty of beds including 4 kings, but two small rooms have double beds that -if you have a large group like ours - may not seem as attractive as the king rooms. But, in the end, everyone was happy with their sleeping arrangements. Overall, it was a terrific, no-worry week.
Excellent house and staff in a great area for a good price!
We had an amazing trip! We were told that there was a change of ownership and the switch over was seamless! The nature around the house was mind boggling and the house was convenient to everything. Thanks so much for answering all of my questions and the responses were sent immediately.
property in very poor condition, nonfunctional bathroom, no WiFi, unresponsive management
1. One of the bathrooms had a nonfunctioning toilet. It was obvious it had been leaking for quite a while (there was significant water damage on the floor). Management promised to send a handyman but it was never fixed.
2. The WiFi did not work at any point. We contacted the property manager several times and were given a different explanation/story each time. Again, never fixed. 3. The listing says there is a washer and dryer. Our group was counting on having access to this but were told the machines were for the sole use of housekeeping staff. We would not have booked the property if we had known this.
4. The bottom of the balcony pool had many missing tiles and they were constantly breaking off.
5. Top floor full-length windows were not bolted in and in fact there was a 6-inch gap in the wall when we arrived as the window was not in its proper placement. Very concerning, both for security reasons as well as personal safety.
6. Overall extremely rundown condition.
7. Property manager did not respond promptly and did not keep any promises.
We contacted the property manager several times a day about all of these issues but nothing was ever resolved. We have since been told that the property was sold *during* our stay and due to this gray area neither the previous owner/property manager, the current owner/property manager, or VRBO is willing to accept any responsibility thus far. Stay far away.
Overall a great week in Manuel Antonio. The house was as described and would recommend. I thought the best thing to do was answer some of the questions I had.
1) The walk to the beach is 10-15 minutes down a very steep road. Small children or older adults would struggle with this walk.
2) The beach at the bottom of the road is really long and has several bars, stores, hotels on it. There are plenty of places to have a private beach feel and other places that are more public feeling. The water here can be very rough and there is a rip current at times.
3) The walk to restaurants is very doable up a steep hill, but you have to be comfortable walking on a road with no sidewalk. Drivers are generally on the lookout but there are blind turns.
4) Make sure you research the layout of the house. As mentioned, it is separate units that are all connected via courtyards and outside stairs. It worked well for us with 3 families but the experience would be interesting if you were there with strangers. The views on the top floor are the best and the kitchen up there is the only fully equiped one.
5) Chris the property manager is super nice and did a great job with the surf lessons for the kids, I highly recommend this. He also arranged for a chef for certain nights and mornings for us and that was great.
6) There are housekeepers there every day so it was very clean.
7) You don't need a car and taxis are readily available and not that expensive in the Quepos area.
Great property for a large group or multiple families!
This property is great for a large group or multiple families looking for individual spaces while staying together. The view from the upper floors is beautiful and the location is great - wishing walking distance to everything!
While the property looks great on VRBO, it's even better in person! We were able to walk to beaches, restaurants, and grocery stores (although the house is on a hill, so it's rather strenuous). It could not have been more convenient. And the view! It's what I miss most! Lastly, Chris, the property manager made great recommendations and helped with every inquiry within minutes! I will stay here again if I make it back to Costa Rica!
We booked Casa Diamante to house our family of 10 during our wedding weekend and the property was perfect. The different suite types matched exactly what we were looking for, with the Toucan apartment being a perfect fit for my cousin's family of 4 with 2 kids, the Iguana suites working well for elderly parents who can't take stairs, and the penthouse being a great area to gather for breakfast, which Chris helped us book.
Our family was pleased with the stay and the kids enjoyed how large the pool was. Chris was not there to physically check us in and the bedroom door to the master suite was locked so we had to hunt down one of the staff members, but it was resolved relatively quickly.
We were very thankful to have access to Casa Diamante for our wedding weekend as it allowed our full family to stay about 5 minutes away from our villa property.
Beautiful home in jungle area- best concierge ever!
The first thing that I want to say is that Chris, the concierge is excellent- we felt like we had the best guide in Costa Rica. He is very good at communication and execution of plans, and he is even better at doing tours. We did a thermal pool tour and a waterfall tour , and both were gorgeous, informative, intimate and sweet. He personifies "pura vida" in his genuine excitement for sharing his country and its natural wonders. I feel very fortunate to have spent several days with Chris as our guide.
This house is amazing, and while I have a few minor complaints, overall it was almost perfect. The pools is really lovely- very clean, good size, perfect temperature. As a swimmer, it was a 10. The main living room is gorgeous, as is the main bedroom on that floor. The dining area and deck on that floor are also great. We had 11 people there and felt very comfortable. The one complaint is that the kitchen is not set up very well for real cooking. The pots and pans are small and cheap teflon- it made cooking difficult. This is not unusual for a VRBO, but it kept the overall experience from being a 10.
The remainder of the living spaces were fine- not super special, but very nice. Several of the baths were pretty spectacular. A sign on the deck stating a 500 lb limit was a bit unnerving, sice you are 40 feet from the ground, but we assume it was a liability thing, not a real problem.
The location of the house is pretty perfect, and one could do without a car there, if you are healthy and can walk up the steep hill to the store, and downhill to the beach.
The maid service was also excellent.
Overall I can heartily recommend, Casa Diamante!
An incredible location with a beautiful view, perfect for a large group of friends or multiple families. Accessible to all the adventures Quepos has to offer. A few minor things â house has some wear and tear, some small kitchen basics are missing, and water pressure/heat in showers is not great, but otherwise this house is amazing!
Really nice property that worked for our group of nine
Getting there after dark was difficult with directions from the manager being offa little. The google map location works well but there is no board outside saying you are there so if you overshoot, a challenging drive beyond.
The water pressure and hot water were a problem in many bathrooms
Overall the location was good. The chef cooked meal was superb
This is a family owned home. We love to spend time here in paradise and enjoy!!! We also love to host families and groups at our home. Come stay in our little piece of heaven.
It has the absolute best view and is located in the most luxurious neighborhood in Manuel Antonio!! The house is clean, elegant and very comfortable. We have a 10-15 min direct access walk or 4x4 drive to the nicest beach too! It's all about LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!
Stunning views throughout. Separate hang out sreas for large groups. Amazing suspended jungle jacuzzi overlooking the view of the National Park. Awesome pool!!! Monkeys visit daily!! Sloth come too!! Fantastic birdwatching. Our favorite beach is a wuick walk doen the hill. Lots of yummy restaurants within walking distance as well. Nestled in the lush hills of the nicest part of Manuel Antonio. This house is a dream come true! Let us share it with you!!!!
