Bar Harbor House in town owned by local family Acadia entrance around the corner
Bar Harbor House is newly constructed, spacious, and at the edge of downtown. The house is a 5-minute drive to Acadia National Park entrances, Carriage Roads, and waterfront. Eagle Lake Road is known for frequent sightings of Bald Eagles and Peregrine Falcons nest nearby. Kebo Valley Golf Course is just across the street from the Bar Harbor House. Kebo Valley is the 8th oldest golf course in the United States. Traces of historical influence are notable and have been preserved. Conveniently located with parking for two/three vehicles helps to avoid searching for parking spaces, meter fees, and frustration. There is a secure garage for storing bikes, kayaks, fishing supplies, golf gear, and more. The Bar Harbor House will accommodate up to 8 guests and is a special place for family and friends to be together. Many lasting memories are made here! My family is six generations with a lot of local history and stories to tell. Family lightkeepers include Jaurel and Nana Belle Pinkham on Egg Rock Light at the entrance of Bar Harbor. Special and hidden areas of Acadia are well known and local tips willingly shared!
This listing is an absolute gem! The location, the space, and most of all the amazing host Deb! Deb was so helpful and accommodating from the get go when we needed to shift travel dates. She was also a wealth of information about the island. A true local and gave us so many helpful tips and spots to see that I never would have known about. She even stocked the kitchen with snacks, breakfast food, and a frozen dinner. We travel a lot, and she was by far the best host weâve encountered! The home was immaculate and had everything we could need. One thing that really stood out was how much room we had to unpack our clothes! We have rented many places where the dresser and closet space was so limited. I always like to unpack suitcases, and it was great to have so much space! The location of this home is perfect. So close to Acadia National Park and Bar Harborâs downtown. A perfect location to hop back to downtown for a late night ice cream trip! We enjoyed our stay in Maine so much and this house and host were a huge part of that. Highly recommend!
Of all the VRBO-style properties I have stayed in over the years, this one was by far THE BEST for many reasons. The main reason for this evaluation was the incredible communication we had with the property owner. The amount of helpful local knowledge we were given was priceless. The tips and guidance enhanced our trip beyond measure and allowed us to experience so much more than we would have otherwise. Plus, the property was spotless, and there were so many special touches designed for the guests. The listing was spot-on in every way. We parked our vehicle and took the 10-minute walk to downtown on multiple days. Parking is 4 an hour everywhere and often hard to find downtown. On other days we pulled away from the house were turning into Acadia National Park in less than a minute. The location was excellent and if you do not mind a short stroll to the shore and downtown Bar Harbor, you really cannot beat it. It is truly hard to list every "bonus" that is given to you as a guest at this property but consider that there is a rack of brochures for every attraction you can imagine inside the house! The owner did not miss a thing. We give the property and the experiences 10 out of 10. You will not be disappointed. Trust me!
We had a great stay! The location is very convenient to town and Acadia, instructions were clear, communication with the owner was easy. There was plenty of room for our family to have our own space and they were well stocked with everything we needed to cook, clean and do laundry. It was very comfortable!
House was in a great location, wonderfully supplied and immaculate. Deborah was so hospitable and available, it felt like we were staying at a friend's place!
Everything went very smoothly, the house was very clean and organized and perfect for our family of 5. Great location as well. Canât say enough good things about Deborah, she went above and beyond to make our stay amazing and her communication was great! Definitely the best Vrbo experience we have ever had.
The house is on a steep incline with many stairs so it prepared us for all the hiking we did during our stay. The owners gave us great tips and ideas for things to do and see while there. We had a great time!!
I would rate Deborah a 10! She is the best host we ever had. Deborah is exceptional and exceeded all expectations. She is an outstanding host who help provide a wonderful experience and a truly made our trip memorable. Deb was very responsive to all communications being available day and night by phone, texting and emailing. Her response was always quick and offered her assistance. The house was exceptional and well maintained. Immaculately, clean and comfortable. The couches and the reclinerswere so comfortable none of us wanted to get out of them. The interior decorating design was very pleasant. Enjoyed seeing Acadia pictures. Mattresses So were so comfortable and insured a good night sleep. We really appreciated the ironed pillowcases. Deb goes above and beyond with welcoming you into the home. Her hospitality and thoughtfulness, providing food for breakfast and dinner, treats and snacks and water, coffee and coffee creamer, hot chocolate, tea and a fully stocked pantry. Deborah is a wealth of information. She has a wall providing maps and pamphlets and a homemade binder for for exploring in Bar Harbor providing a list of boat tours, hiking trails, restaurants, etc. I utilized much of the information and the recommendation from a local standpoint of view. The location was absolutely perfect so convenient a short walk to town and from there, you could also utilize the free shuttle to Acadia. I would definitely recommend anyone to stay here. Ann
The host is so welcoming and informative about the area. There were so many little details around the house that went above and beyond. She even stocked the fridge with essentials! Great experience
This is a lovely, comfortable, very clean home in a great locationâjust minutes from downtown Bar Harbor and Acadia. Deb thought of everything to make the home feel welcoming. It was so helpful to have the refrigerator stocked with the basics, a frozen lasagna, and snacks and coffee for our stay. Deb was caring and kind, and she and Dan were available to help if needed.

The house was absolutely immaculate, with every detail meticulously cared for. Deb was great, a true resource of local knowledge whose suggestions for exploring the area were very helpful. Her recommendations truly elevated our trip! The location was ideal, offering easy access to the heart of Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. Plus, the "quiet side" was just a short, scenic drive away, offering a nice change of pace. We especially loved the convenience of being able to walk directly downtown. This spot is a five-star, well appointed, and cared for property with a very responsive owner. This was the best vacation rental we have experienced with lots of thought and care showing throughout the house and with communication.
Great location. Clean, comfortable, modern house. Fantastic hosts.Everything exceeded our expectations. The house was well stocked with dishes, glassware, cookware and supplies including some fresh food and bottled water. There were notebooks and pens in every room, a closet with toys and musical instruments, and plenty of reading material about Bar Harbor, Acadia, and the area.Deborah and Dan provided detailed information about the house, appliances, and check-out procedures. We decided to visit the "Quiet Side" based on their recommendation and enjoyed a great hike on the Wonderland and Ship Harbor Trails. We enjoyed our stay at the Bar Harbor House and recommend it to everyone who is planning to visit Acadia.
Beautiful home in a convenient location! Deb went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. Many âextrasâ were available if needed, snacks, condiments, coffee, toiletries etc. A deer was in the back yard for hours one morning!
The Bar Harbor house was perfect for our family of 5. It was very clean and in a perfect location. definitely rent this home again if we were visiting the Bar Harbor Area.
House is in a great location! Easy walk to downtown Bar Harbor to shopping and restaurants. Minutes to Acadia and Cadillac Mtn. Kebo Valley golf course is across the street, friendliest pro shop and locals we've come across. House is so welcoming, the hosts have thought of every detail. Our expectations were exceeded with meals and drinks waiting for us. Extremely clean, comfortable beds, safe neighborhood. Guitars and games provided for entertainment. Deb and Dan are exceptional hosts from booking and throughout the stay. Itineraries, best restaurants, hikes and local history are provided by the hosts. We'll be back. Thank you for a memorable stay â€ïž
I booked this house for the location and got so much more! We were five adults and I wanted a place where we could SAFELY bike to the carriage roads in the park. Not only was this the house for that, we could walk to town and did regularly. Our host had groceries in the fridge waiting for us! The house was clean, well appointed and very comfortable. After long days in the park, we came home and lounged - yes lounged - in the many recliners with cup holders in the living room and watched the US Open. Weâve never been so spoiled. More than five stars and would book again!
We loved our time spent at Deb and Dan's Bar Harbor home. They were amazing, gracious hosts and we could not have asked for a better place to stay. It truly felt like a home away from home and the location was perfect, so close to Bar Harbor and all that Acadia has to offer. I can't wait to book our next stay with them! Thank you so much Deb and Dan! :)
We stayed at The Bar Harbor House with our family of five. The home was spacious and immaculate. The attention to detail that the owner provided was amazing. Maps, magazine and pamphlets left by Deb allowed us to make decisions about where to visit and where to eat so easy. The kitchen was stocked with everything you would need. The bathrooms as well as the home was newly renovated. The location was so close to town and the park. We had a wonderful time!
The house is great, clean and well stocked. Awesome location... walk into Bar Harbor, short ride into Acadia. Perfect spot for a family wanting to spend a lot of time in Acadia.
My family is well known in Bar Harbor and surrounding communities on the island. Dan and I have dedicated our professional careers to the field of healthcare. Dan recently retired from Mount Desert Island Hospital as a social worker and clinical supervisor. He is also a professional musician and performs at several local venues during the summer months. I am a proud nurse of 45 years and have enjoyed most of my career at The Jackson Laboratory. I later went on to develop a small consulting business, Smart Case Management Solutions, LLC. My clinical background includes acute care, home health, occupational employee health, program development, education, and Workers Compensation. I enjoy team inclusion, critical thinking, and independent consulting!
Eagle Lake Road is appropriately named for all the right reasons! We often see eagles and falcons flying overhead and nesting nearby. Deer, wild turkeys, and other wildlife are frequently spotted in the back yard. Bar Harbor House is on the edge of downtown and is an easy 10 minute walk to the village. Bar Harbor House is located in the neighborhood where I grew up. Many of my family members and friends still reside there.
What makes our house unique is feeling welcome and immediately comfortable when you arrive. Enjoying the island and time with loved ones will leave unforgettable experiences and cherished memories. We are centrally located within 5 minutes of Acadia National Park entrances, Carriage Roads, Kebo Valley Golf Course, and waterfront. You can easily walk into town and not worry about parking. The back yard is a cross road for deer, turkeys, and other wildlife. The Bar Harbor House is fully stocked. There is no need to stop and shop along the way. You will have plenty of startup groceries and a meal waiting when you arrive. There are brochures, maps, local information, and current island activities available at the house. Avoiding congested Acadia National Park Visitor Centers means more time for fun!
