We really enjoyed our stay. Very walkable to Dogtown and the Zoo. Short Uber ride to everything downtown. Host was really nice and very responsive. Would definitely stay again!
Communication was great, house fit our needs really well, lots of TVs for end-of-day relaxing, and in walking distance of the Zoo, some great bakeries, and a fantastic small sushi place.
Melissaâs home is in a very convenient location that has been recently updated with a beautiful backyard. It was perfect for our family to stay in while attending our daughters college graduation. The only slight issue we had was the air conditioning units didnât keep the home as cool as we would like it and the water pressure was not as powerful as we would prefer but that is only our personal preference. The kitchen was fully stocked and there were plenty of towels. The home is a great stay for a quick weekend or long term stay.
It was really hard to cool even though there were extra cooling units set up. Also, the front window off the porch would not lock and made me feel unsafe. The property was just okay. The downstairs felt âdungeonyâ.
The house was very cute, but was not as well kept as we expected. Lots of peeling paint, doors that wouldnât close, weeds, and holes in the wall. The living room smelled incredibly musty, to the point where it was not enjoyable to sit in. Basement rooms get very humid as there is no AC or ventilation. The rest of the house is cooled by window ACâs. House is in a good location and has a lot of potential, but we were disappointed with the lack of cleanliness and maintenance, especially with the price.
The doors didnât lock from the basement and the front door lock didnât work. This made my wife feel very unsafe that we couldnât lock the doors when we left or in the evening if we were out. The oven caught fire when we turned it on so we stopped using it. The contact numbers were slow to respond.
It has potential but it needs to be repaired before another renter
This house was beautiful, well-maintained, and very convenient and close to attractions. The house was a good size for 4 adults and 4 children (aged 6-6 months) and came furnished with many child friendly items like plastic plates/ cups, games, and a pack and play.
The 3 bedrooms were soft and comfortable. Plenty of towels and bedding. And included the best pillows I've ever seen in a VRBO rental :)
The basement itself was dry and cool - a perfect retreat from the humidity. The house has plenty of fans and air-conditioners on both levels to keep you at ease.
Unfortunately during our stay a strong storm knocked out the power so we had to cut our trip short, but even so, the basement was cool even without air conditioning in July. Melissa was a fantastic host who was communicative with us about the resolution time of the power outage and offered us further amenities to ensure our comfort for the remainder of our trip.
House was fine. Kitchen is big and worked great for cooking some home meals. House is older but has been renovated. Bathroom door on the first floor does not close all the way. The basement rooms have accordion curtains vs doors. My mom did find a bug crawling on her luggage. Our weekend was record breaking hot and it was nice to have the extra air conditioners in addition to the central air. Basement was freezing though - we closed some vents which helped. Backyard is not great. Lots of overgrown foliage and branches. Outdoor furniture is older and full of cobwebs so not very used. There is a grill but we didnât use it. There was a deck box full of garbage at the bottom of the backyard stairs which smelled and was covered in flies. Mentioned to Melissa and she was happy I let her know but nothing was done before we left. Overall it served its purpose.
