Perfect Location for access to Yosemite and Bass Lake
The house was clean, comfortable and in a safe, residential area. The house is just off the main road, so it allowed easy access to get into Yosemite and to get to the Bass Lake area.
Excellent location for our first trip to Yosemite, easy access and good communication with the property manager, the Internet was not working (that is good to have fun family time)
Great locationâŠit was only about a 20 minute drive to the Yosemite NP entrance and only about a 5-7 minute drive into Oakhurst for supplies. Quiet neighborhood and the house was very nice. We would happily recommend it to others.
We enjoyed the location and cabin. It was perfect for our get a way to Yosemite National park - other than rolling my ankle on the bottom stone step ( but I am clumsy like that). Thank you for sharing it with us
We loved this quiet cabin in the woods as our base for visiting Yosemite. We also explored Bass Lake and Coarsegold while there. Oakhurst is very close for food and groceries.
Quaint, quiet, clean, easily findable property on the southern road to Yosemite. Great communication with the host! Close to town, but definitely not IN town. Deer & turkeys passed through during our stay... Would book again!
The cabin was the perfect retreat for our family of four while we explored Yosemite. While the National Park entrance is rather close (about 20-30 minutes), note it might take you longer to get to the trail head of your choice so plan accordingly.
Our kids loved the loft area. And the deck while a bit old from appearance made for the perfect way to end the day.
We were also close to Bass Lake and the restaurants in town.
We would absolutely stay again!
Great location for family on 4 day trip into Yosemite. 25 minutes from south entrance. Another 55 minutes to Yosemite Valley. 5-7 minutes into Oakhurst for provisions. Bass Lake close also. We did breakfast and dinner at the Cabin each day. Grilled one night. Beds comfortable. AC worked. Clean towels and linens. We felt really good about the place.
My wife and I spent the weekend exploring Yosemite, and when we were done the âRed Door Cabinâ was the temporary home we couldnât wait to get back to. The location was perfect with short drives to the park, downtown Oakhurst, and Mariposa. The cabin had all we needed in a place to stay. It may not have come stocked with all the necessities, but that is not what we base our experience off of. The cabin was cozy and served its purpose. The host kept open communication and was available to answer questions and provided important and detailed formation. Weâd definitely return in the future and would gladly recommend to others.
We loved our experience at this property. It accommodated our family of six perfectly. When we arrived the property was extremely clean, and it had everything we could have needed. The communication was excellent and the owner called to check in on us the last day. The balcony faces west and provided good views of the sunset. We also had space to store our bikes. Itâs a little over and hour from Yosemite village and only 20 minutes from Mariposa Grove of Sequoias. We would absolutely stay here again.
it was good.. Disappointed i the outward appearance of the property. The yard was ot kept up well and the house and structure were in bad need of paint and cleaning. Very ru down appearance. Fortunately the inside is the important part and it did look nice
Visited with my wife and brother. Overall nice little cabin. Full kitchen was a great cost-saver compared to eating out. Grocery stores were 5 mins away. Wish there was on-site laundry, but there was a laundromat in town with reasonable prices. Proximity to Yosemite was plenty adequate, but it was still around an hour and a half drive to the valley with all the main attractions, but unless you want to pay an arm and a leg to stay in one of the resorts inside the park the drive is worthwhile, and the proximity to Oakhurst makes up for it. Overall I'd stay here again if I end up back in the area.
We stayed for 5 nights and had a wonderful time at the property. Cozy kitchen and comfortable leather couches to spread out on after long days in Yosemite.
The upstairs was perfect for our two kids (10/11) to play in while wife and I stayed downstairs. Upstairs sleeps 4 comfortably and the downstairs queen slept well.
Crisp linen for the bedrooms was provided and the kitchen was stocked with pots, pans, and plate ware.
We were able to see some shooting stars from the backyard and also caught a deer bedding down for a nap right outside our back window.
You will have neighbors here however the area was extremely quiet and peaceful.
For Yosemite visitors, just be ready to wake early and get to the southern portal as early as possible. The 13 miles to the entrance is surprisingly long and the valley floor is a solid hour twenty away. That stated, this property was a perfect fit for us and the property owners maintained good communication throughout the rental process. A+, would rent again.
