STOWAWAY est un venteux maison de ville de deux étages; excellent pour deux couples ou une famille. Il fait partie d'un petit groupe de 8 unité appelée VILLAS sur le pont supérieur. Il est situé juste au-dessus la ville, faisant de location de voiture en option. Trois épiceries sont à une courte distance de marche.

Le premier étage se compose de hall d'entrée, salon, salle, cuisine, buanderie, salle d'eau, salle à plate-forme, et le pont surplombant la piscine et offrant une vue sur Sainte-Croix, l'étage supérieur comprend deux chambres très distinctes, chacune avec sa propre salle de bain et terrasse . Une chambre dispose d'une mezzanine ajouté.

Jardins, des arbres tropicaux et une nouvelle piscine créent un sentiment de West Indies. Vue est fantastique.

Vous serez accueillis au ferry, pris à l'épicerie et se sont installés dans votre villa par votre greeter personnelle, qui sera en mesure de répondre à toutes vos questions et sera disponible par téléphone pendant votre séjour.

Perfect for families

The view was amazing and this rental was perfect for our family of four. The complex was quiet and private. Plus, the pool and AC units in the bedroom made it an extra comfort stay. Communication with the owner was prompt and she provided tons of ideas and info for us.

Paradise Escape

Marcia’s property is comfortable & beautiful, providing everything you need to make your vacation amazing. The ocean view is absolutely breathtaking & we enjoyed every minute there. The pool was also wonderful & we all wanted to stay longer! We hope to return again one day!

The most quintessential St. John cottage!

Book the trip! Just do it. We had the absolute best stay on St. John with our family and our stay cottage made it so perfect. We had all the beach items, a grill for after a long day at the beach, TV to watch our Tigers play baseball and some precious kitties who would visit us. The pool was wonderful for an afternoon dip from our long days snorkeling! Marcia provided us with tips, tricks and all the recommendations for our agenda and stay. Grateful our time on the island and look forward to visiting again soon.

Wonderful Winter Escape

Stowaway was a great place to stay on St John. It’s a beautiful hilltop property with spectacular views of Cruz Bay and was the perfect space for two couples. The owner provided a lot of helpful information ahead of our arrival and was very responsive. The unit came stocked with bathroom essentials & beach bags, chairs and towels. It was close to Starfish Market for a few groceries (bring your own bags) and town restaurants (5 min drives). Would definitely stay here again.

Great place to stay on St John. Comes stocked with bathroom essentials & beach gear. Owner provided much helpful info ahead of our arrival and was very responsive to any issues that came up once there. Being a two-story unit with stairs, not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. Road up to unit is steep, windy, & not well-marked but the payoff is spectacular views.

This place exceeded my expectations. Lots of space and great views. My only compaint was no screen doors on the bedrooms but that is being taken care in a couple weeks! Can't wait to stay here again in December 2016.

Charming place with beautiful view

The host was wonderful and had lots of great suggestions for snorkeling, eating, beaches etc. the air conditioning in the bedrooms was great and I loved the open plan with incredible views off both the upstairs and downstairs. There was a nice pool but we didn’t use it since we stayed out hiking and snorkeling each day. The drive up was quite steep and I am glad we rented a Jeep . I would definitely stay here again!

Fantastic Nine Nights at Stowaway at Upper Deck Villa's

I have been vacationing in St. John for 35 years; I must have stayed in 15-20 Villas. Stowaway is one of my favorites. For a single person, two people, or two couples, it is perfect. The view is absolutely fantastic. The interior is lovely, clean, and well-kept. Two fantastic bedrooms upstairs. The Villa is equipped with everything you will need. This property is so convenient for everything. Marcia is a fantastic, helpful, and communicative host. What more can I say than I have already booked for the end of 2024 into January 2025, doubling the time I will be staying.

Stay at Stowaway

Fabulous views to the southeast over Cruz Bay from bedroom deck and lower, main floor deck. Is fairly high up mountain. All amenities, appliances worked well, except mosquito screens, some of which don't actually close inside from outside at screen rollers. May be the best bedroom for sleeping I've ever encountered. Landlord was very nice, helpful and friendly, a great welcome to St. John's. Would stay there again, next time.

EXCELLENT

We stayed at Stowaway for a week in January 2023 and had a wonderful time! The villa had everything we needed and the rooms were very comfortable. The breezes and view on the first floor are just amazing - we really enjoyed the sea air! The kitchen is fully stocked, pool is clean and quiet, designated parking spot is a bonus. Check-in was a piece of cake - Marcia was an excellent host and checked on us a few times during our stay to see if we needed anything (which we didn't - everything was there for us!). We're already checking our calendar to book a few weeks at Stowaway - one is never enough!

Amazing stay at the Stowaway

We just returned back from a week long stay at the Stowaway and it was a trip to remember. From the minute we booked, Marcia was incredibly helpful, offering a full list of things to visit and do in St. John. The pictures online don't do this place justice! The views are simply stunning, there are two decks one on each floor. The villa is up a steep hill, very tranquil and quiet. It is a very close drive to town, we would drive in every night and park in a lot. We rented a Bronco in St. Thomas, and drove it over on the ferry as Marcia recommended and it was wonderful advice. We will be back soon and stay here. We had our three young children who really enjoyed the place as well. She has everything and more in stock! It's a great place!

Breathtaking views while having everything we need!

Our stay at Stowaway was perfect! We loved having a full kitchen with all the supplies we needed to eat breakfast and often, dinner at our place. The beds were very comfortable and a perfect set up for a family of 5. The pool down below was a wonderful way to cool off when we didn’t make the trip down to the beaches. The best part was the view! It was spectacular and I will never forget it. Marcia was very communicative and open to texts whenever we had a question. She even provided us with a list of restaurants and things we had to do for our trip. I couldn’t be happier with our choice to stay at Stowaway (once we got used to the drive up :). Thank you Marcia!

Island Charm

We loved our stay at the Stowaway! It was comfortable, clean, and had island charm. We loved the fact that you stayed both indoor and outdoor and there was always fresh air everywhere you went in the home. We were able to get to and from the house without a 4 wheel drive but it is steep (as are many places on the island). The owners not only picked us up at the car ferry but showed us around and were available to answer any questions we had during our stay. It was great to have a cooler and beach chairs for our use every day. Things are expensive on the island. I would return to the Stowaway and recommend it to friends who wanted a comfortable place to stay with more reasonable island prices.

Spacious, Well Appointed Property with Beautiful Views

Our family of four spent 5 days at The Stowaway. The unit was absolutely perfect for our family- well-appointed, clean, comfortable, and spacious. We really appreciated the well stocked kitchen supplies and the thoughtful amenities that were provided, such as shampoo, laundry detergent, cleaning supplies, etc. Our favorite part of the unit was the outdoor living spaces- decks off the first floor main living area and decks on the second floor off of both of the bedrooms. The views from the unit and the decks are absolutely stunning. The owners of the property are very friendly, helpful, and gracious and were available at any time if we had any questions. I would highly recommend this property for a family or two couples. We absolutely loved it and hoped to return in the future.

Stowaway in Paradise!

My friend and I spent a week at Stowaway. This was the perfect set up for two single people or two couples as the bedrooms are of equal size and both have their own bath. The condo is bright, clean and has absolutely stunning views of Cruz Bay. We had everything we needed, including beach chairs and towels, which made it so much easier to explore the many beaches of St. John on our own. Even though we were just two of us, we could each find our own spots to sit, relax and enjoy the views. This would easily be a perfect place for two couples. Marcia, her mother Georgia, and our local contact, TBird were all so helpful. They really went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. Love, love, love Stowaway!

St. John Villa

This was my first time at St. John and it was quite an adventure. I did not expect the steep hills that we encountered on the island. You must have a 4 wheel drive and we did. The island was beautiful and I am glad I got to see everything. The beaches are breathtaking. Like no other beach I have ever seen. The grocery stores are very expensive so be prepared for the sticker shock. As far as the villa goes: Pros: Close to town Beautiful view Cute layout Cons: Not cleaned before arrival Pool was dirty most of the time Small stove Rusted refrigerator Ran out of gas and had to wait till the next day for replacement tank to be moved under the unit Pilot light would not work in oven and was unable to use the oven Owner never contact us to apologize for problems with unit Had to call several people to get assistance with gas issue I contacted VRBO about the problems we encountered and they contacted the owner. I also contacted the owner and never got a response. Although I was disappointing in my accommodations I had a wonderful vacation in St. John. If you plan on eating out the entire trip the gas issue would not of mattered. So it is all about what is important to you and what kind of vacation you plan on having.

Affordable/ but budget

I'm going to start w/that we are not new to VRBO and do not need to be catered to, however, like it clean, efficient and usually book according to reviews and expect accurate representation of property if something is advertised as such, which may alter our choices. I'm going to break into pros & cons PROS 1)The communication w/ owner was great and she has great follow through. I should have been leery about no deposits/contracts though. 2)View is great and has personal parking spot. Has pool, and barbeque grill. Has AC in bedrooms. Has all kitchen utensils. CONS The listing is not misleading but also not super accurate. 1)Unit has dishwasher, but broken and not disclosed w/no follow thru to try to repair while visit. Grossed us out due to dishes were run thru and put away with food on plates when we arrived, so we hand washed the ones we would use daily. 2)Has pool, but pool light broken and no outdoor lighting so very unsafe to get to pool in evening despite a flashlight 3)Has AC in bedroom, but barely could be considered one, very warm at night. Not to mention the main living quarters or bedrooms have no screens on any doors, so very hot, due to couldn't have any cross breeze to help, and bugs were heavy so had to keep doors closed at all times, and ceiling fans don't really cool down humidity. 4)Has new BBQ, but lid on one side missing hinge bolt, very janky, but cooked well 5)Has new oven/stovetop as per greeter, but no directions on usage and no lighter w/ any fluids to use the thing. Had to make trip to hardware store to purchase lighter. 6)cleanliness was considered poor in my opinion. Lot of hair in showers and on all floors, and on shower curtain. Showers are small and so are we, but the curtain was always touching you. Gross 7)The bedrooms are both upstairs, but you have to go outside to access. Didn't expect that. Due to night time storms, you get wet when you go to kitchen to get water in the middle of night, tile slick. Towel bars falling off wall and knobs on cabinets falling off. This property could be much better with some better cleanliness and attention to details. It might be helpful to make a " guidebook / tips for property" - #'s to call / "how to" instructions, etc. Need to make sure there are lighters to use for stove,propane on sight etc. Screen doors would help to utilize ocean breeze for free and not need to use AC that doesn't work that well anyway. Just make sure its ready rent once put on rental market. Frustrating

Wonderful views, outstanding service and great amenities – what’s not to love?

Stowaway was a great choice for our family – the views are great, the pool is right below the balcony so we could let the kids go by themselves and still see/hear, it is well stocked/furnished to prepare meals (barbecued a couple of times and the blender is great for making island beverages) and in a private lush setting while still being very close to Cruz Bay. The booking process, helpful information before we got there and arrival/greeting was very smooth, and when we did have a small problem (fan went out in the loft), it was taken care of that day. Overall it was a fantastic vacation and definitely recommend Stowaway!

Wonderful time at Stowaway

Stowaway is very well situated on St. John. From the rental you have a great view of the south eastern shores from the balcony. In addition, it is very close to Star Market and town restaurants (5 min drives). The property has a beach vibe and is very spacious for us (2 couples). This place also have most of the amenities that you would expect from the states including washer/dryer + dish washer. While there we recommend all the public northern beaches (Hawknest, Maho, Trunk, Cinnamon, Francis, 20 minutes hike on flat terrain to Waterlemon). The hike to petroglyphs was fun and shaded but neither the petroglyphs nor the beach at the end were highlights. Do it for the hike not the destination. However, the hike at Ram's Head is good. The beach at the beginning/end (Salt Pond Bay) is good. Finally, the rental process with Marcia was easy making the rental process a breeze - Lucas

As a yacht designer, I have sailed most of the Caribbean. St John is by far the best place to live and vacation. You will also be talking to my daughter, Marcia, who manages the bookings and finances. My home, Callaloo, is mid island on St John.

Before buying in St. John, we considered settling on St. Barths. I weighed the pros and cons of each place. St. Barths offers a bit of Paris (a place I adore), but St. John offered a lot more of everything else. Dependable, affordable phone and internet service, 22 beaches, good dining (although pricey), affordable air fares, hiking trails, and the heavy hand of the US Government which keeps St. John safe, beautiful, and accessible to all.

We respect nature, wildlife, beaches, reefs, and the sea. We adore our wild donkeys!
