The Villa was perfect. Very clean, well equipped kitchen, high ceilings, very comfortable beds, and an amazing pool with an ocean view. The Villa was also within easy walking distance to downtown Cruz Bay for coffee and for dinners each evening. Perfect location, and Luciah, the Host, was the best. Great vacation.
Luciah the property manager is wonderful. The house was gorgeous and spacious. The location was great - close to town with a nice sized hill to climb each way. The hills helped us with PT after knee surgeries ha ha. I wish the windows could be opened at night for this time of year, but other than that it was perfect.
Booked our stay a few days before our arrival. The Host was very informative and our greeter Linda was very friendly upon arrival. Walkability was awesome! Rental was furnished with everything youâd need for a nice week. Pool was a definite plus!
Our experience at Cielo Mar started with the fabulous contact, Luciah, on St.John who made us feel so at home. She even had drinks and snacks at the house upon our arrival! She was easy to communicate with and so attentive in responding to any questions we had during our whole stay. The property itself was exactly as pictured and did not disappoint. It is a beautiful property in a quiet neighborhood and so close to the center of town it made not having a car no problem. The property was outfitted with all of the amenities to sleep well, cook dinner, hang on the deck, sit by the pool or go to the beach! We would stay again and you should give it a try!!
It was amazing!! Very walkable to town for 2 of us but the other 3 werenât in shape enough to wake up the hill. Restaurants were all good! The villa itself was very nice we just didnât realize we were sharing the pool with 4 other villas
This property is a hidden gem! Check in was a breeze with the property manager meeting us at the car ferry. The place is spacious and we loved the colonial caribbean feel! Easy walk to town but private feel on a quiet street and felt like we had the pool to ourselves. The only issue is that our mother in law has limited mobility so had a challenge with all the stairs and hills but we made it work! Would come here to stay again for sure!
We loved this home and the area. It was a short walk to town which has restaurants, shops and taxis to beaches. We were gonna rent a car but taxis took us to great beaches: Trunk Bay, Cinnamon and Openheimer, to name a few.
The house was very clean, quite peaceful. It offered beach chairs, floats, snorkeling gear. It was well stocked. The front porch was my favorite. The pool was clean and refreshing. I would definitely recommend this property and be back again.
Loved the feel and the convenience of this location. It was an adult trip with only one couple so this place worked well. The 3 twin beds upstairs are open to the house being a loft. We enjoyed the loft space though but didn't require too much privacy. AC was great upstairs and down. it was my 4th time on the island and never stayed downtown Cruz Bay, it was definitely my favorite. It was definitely a place I would book again.
We visited this beautiful property for our daughters senior year spring break and it was Amazing!!! The property is fabulous, super clean, a great balcony for morning coffee or evening cocktails, and so magical when we found a few treats in the fridge including fresh flowersâŠwhat a great surprise! Perfect for a group of four with an incredible pool and walkable to Cruz Bay. Wish weâd found the white stairs past the pool sooner, great shortcut (when the gate is unlocked) for an easy downhill walk to Cruz Bay. To quote our daughters 10 out of 10, the Moms agree!!! We both hope to visit again one day and enjoy this charming home with our families! Thank you for such a special spring break!
This villa was perfect if you are looking to stay in Cruz Bay.
We were able to walk around and restaurants were also within walking distance.
For those who donât mind a short hike both Solomon and Honeymoon beaches can be reached by a hiking trail and takes about 30 minutes.
The villa has everything you need for a comfortable stay after exploring the island.
We used the taxis for the first 3 days and then rented a jeep for the last 4 days so we could check out the whole island and also drive to the other beaches nearby. It also allowed us to purchase water and food at the starfish market but be prepared for much higher prices than you may be used to. It was still better because we could cook breakfast and pack lunches and snacks for the day.
Of course there are mosquitoes on Caribbean islands. The question is whether the property owner has done enough to control them. The answer for this property is no. We did all we could, such as by keeping windows and doors closed, running the 2 supplied bug zappers, applying bug spray to ourselves and the interior, yet we were still besieged day and night by mosquitoes. We literally had to stay on the go, away from what was otherwise a beautiful cottage, because of this issue. The mosquitoes appear to breed in the a/c vents but there is no way to isolate in any rooms since the doors have louvers.. Even if this is a seasonal problem, it should be addressed, not ignored. At a minimum, the owner could provide mosquito nets for sleeping. Owner needs to figure out a solution to this problem.
We were greeted so graciously at the fer
ry and walked to our Jeep rental location. We then waited until check in time, then waited an hour more for housekeeping to finish and leave. We were left with beautiful fresh flowers, a few beverages, some fruit, cheese and crackers, which was unexpected and appreciated.
Thouse is in a great location, central to town, yet tucked into a neighborhood. The location was perfect minus privacy. The light from all the windows is great in the light of day, but many had no shades nor curtains to draw at night. Windows gave high visibility to kitchen/dr/lr and bathroom. Only Master br was private. There were many, many great points and one huge drawback for us. The master states there is a queen bed, but it was actually a king that was unsleepable. First night was awful. It is hard, like a box spring and has distinct high and low dips. Second night, we slept across the bed, each tucked into one of the dips, hoping to avoid the them cutting into us as they did the night before. It wasnât much better. Third night, we slept in indivual single beds upstairs. They were soft, but not stable, they dip and move when you turn. Probably much better for children. I would stay here again and again if there was a better bed. I was exhausted by the end of our 5 night stay- the bed is the main reason this location does not get a 5 star review.
This was an amazing villa! Everything clean and well appointed. Communication was great and the location was perfect! Within walking distance to taxis, local shops and restaurants. Would definitely stay again!
We spent a week here and definitely took advantage of the close location to downtown. Although it is a close walk, it is very hilly and a difficult terrain. We really enjoyed the property, the house was beautiful! The only suggestion we would have would be to have beach chairs and a cooler available. Other than that, we had a perfect stay and would definitely rent here again!
Upon entering the villa for the very first time, the villa was full of mosquitoes. The host told us âjust be sure to keep the doors shutâ. After a terrible night and day of being eaten alive we bought bug spray, citronella candles, anything we could find. We also called the host back stating the mosquitoes were terrible and her recommendation was - âwear bug sprayâ. It was awful! We all had to sleep under the covers. It appeared as though there were mosquitoes coming out of the drains! There was even a bug zapper in the back laundry room so they are clearly aware of the problem. By the end of the week my daughter and husband looked like they had the measles - they were covered in so many mosquito bites! I would not stay here or recommend it to anyone ! Especially with dengue fever prevalent in St. John mosquitoes!!
there is not much room to park a 4 door jeep but its only a 5 min walk to restaurants and taxis to beaches which is cheaper than jeep rentals. going to grocery would be a problem though, so maybe if host can take a grocery order/prestock would work around. otherwise unless you are comfortable parking in really tight spaces I would recommend a 2 door jeep size vehicle
Honestly, this is the best rental my family (2 adults, 3 boys age 13, 12 & 10) has ever stayed in--worth every penny. From the personal touches (stocking the fridge with snacks/drinks) to the fully stocked house with everything we could need, we were thrilled from the moment we walked in. The villa was perfectly located, close to everything and we especially loved being close to Frank Bay and Coconut coast studios. The property itself is just lovely, comfortable and quaint. AC worked wonderfully and the pool was perfect. Especially loved the two balconies:)
We loved it! Close to town and a separate area for my kids upstairs. Air conditioning was excellent. We had beach chairs, coolers, pool noodles etc. We will definitely stay here again.
Great house, Two teenage kids had their own space upstairs in the loft. We had our privacy in our suite. We would sit on the balcony each morning with coffee and each night with wine. Great place for place to hangout after day at the beach. Easy walk down the hill to Cruz Bay. But the old knees didn't like the walk up most nights. We found a cab driver that would come pick us up at the front door and take us where ever we wanted. We used the pool only once, because there was so much else to do. Would recommend it as your command center, then off to some beach each day.
Beautiful place in a great spot. We stayed for 7 nights and loved the place. Checking in was very personalized. They arranged for a taxi from the airport and it was a breeze from there. There is a nice view from upper balcony or from the pool. The walk to town was short (although quite a hill). There is a key to the opposite gate on the other side that helps with the walk. The place has 3 air conditioners that keep it nice a cool that is refreshing after a walk. One word of caution. There isn't as much privacy as expected in the open area. Although foot traffic is extremely limited to just the guests staying in the other units around the cottage, there are a couple of windows that can view directly inside the cottage. The bedroom is private of course. We rented a jeep while there and I do recommend that.
Adorable home. Comfortable. Clean. Road construction made things a little difficult during our stay. Fantastic pool with great view. Tough to get suitcases up to the loft. Great outdoor spaces. Smaller rental car will fit better in the parking space. 4 door jeep wasnât a great fit. Comfortable living area. Laundry detergent, soap, shampoo, dish soap, beach towels all readily available. We had a great trip and would stay here again.
We had a wonderful week. The place was really perfect for a family. Kids had their own floor with their own beds, balcony and bathroom. Master was a great space. Kitchen and living space was really spacious and easy to keep tidy. Close to Cruz Bay shopping and restaurants. We did not have a car so walked daily to the bus or taxi. Frank Bay was just down the road and good snorkeling near Gallows Point.
