Welcome to your best vacation EVER. HOT TUB, PET FRIENDLY, HIGH SPEED WIFI! Nice level entry to this stunning home with all rooms on one level including fully equipped kitchen living room, laundry, and 2 master suites, one King and One queen. Kitchen includes: Electric drip coffee maker, toaster, full oven and stovetop, full size fridge, dishwasher. knives, silverware, cutting boards, croc pot, blender, cooking utensils, ALL provided. All linens provided. One roll of toilet paper provided per bathroom and one roll of paper towel upon check in. Cornhole is provided for guest enjoyment and a selection of board games and books.
Dog- limit of 1, $50 fee will be charged after you book. Note: There are 2 exterior cameras one pointed at front door one pointed at parking. There are no other cameras on site

Hemlock house is located in the gated community of Powder Horn Mountain in Deep Gap, NC just south of Boone, NC. Renters have access to the outdoor pool during the summer months as well as hiking trails (we HIGHLY recommend checking out our trails, there are swimming holes galore!), clubhouse, fitness center, tennis, campground, fishing, paddle boating, frisbee golf, and more.

50"smart TV in living room with Roku and 42" smart tv in side screened porch the perfect place for GAME DAY! Flat Screen TV's in each bedroom as well! This house has central heat and air AND mini splits in the bedrooms for additional comfort. As for the wood burning fireplace, please bring your own firewood. Or let the manager know at least a week prior to arrival and we can have some ordered at $10 per bundle. The house has River Street internet so you will be able to stream your favorite flicks! Cell phone signal is descent especially if you have Verizon but wifi calling is available. (check the settings on your phone)

Just minutes to Boone, Banner Elk, Blowing Rock, West Jefferson, High County festivals, Fly Fishing, Blue Ridge Mountains, Appalachian Trail, Wineries, Breweries, App State Football! Shopping and local restaurants galore! We are about 50 mins to all ski resorts and about 25 mins to Appalachian State University. 4WD is not needed UNLESS a storm is imminent. Always stop for groceries before arrival, once you get here, you won't want to leave!

Top of the mountain peacefulness

The cabin was well appointed, tastefully decorated and accurately described. The ride up there isn’t for the faint of heart, but the views are stunning. We saw many deer right out front the door. Boone is about 25 away, and had nice restaurants and breweries to visit.

Peaceful mountain getaway

A great place to hang out on the screened in porch and enjoy beautiful views! We had a few minor maintenance issues, but the property manager Susan is very responsive and helpful. A peaceful and scenic getaway.

Birthday Getaway

The house was wonderful! We enjoyed our stay very much and enjoyed the amenities the neighborhood had to offer. The dog enjoyed the freedom of the mountain side. We spent majority of our time at the house in the screened in porch which was amazing. Sitting at night and hearing the creek rumble was perfect. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Beautiful house and neighborhood!

We loved this house and neighborhood. I'm into early morning exercise while my husband is into sleeping in late on vacation. This neighborhood was perfect for us both! I enjoyed the gated community's safe streets for walking, plethora of hiking trails, and fairly large fitness center every day while my husband lounged in the comfy bed and furniture. We both saw many deer every day which made the stay even more special..plus chipmunks, wild turkeys, turtles, and frogs. The house was clean, had great showers, laundry, nice kitchen hot tub and 2 beautiful screened in porches where I spent most of my time. I 100% would rent here again!!!

Great time with family and pets

Great stay, beautiful location, very peaceful and quiet. Great contact with representative and very useful information in cabin for all details. Last thing is to get there it is best to drive up to near boone and back down as roads are better from back entrance. Had a great time.

Gorgeous and well appointed

It is beautifully and comfortably decorated. Wonderfully tucked into the mountain via windy roads. Good wifi but no cell service. Exactly what I wanted! A stylish retreat. I will return!

One of the best stays!

We loved this rental and the entire neighborhood! It is true, when you you get there you will not want to leave.The house was great, the beds were super comfy, and the porches were such a nice addition. Everything was so cozy. The neighborhood was amazing!! The trails were so much fun for the whole family. We will definitely be back to this neighborhood. I will say, bring your own drinking water!!

Even Better than Expected

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This mountain cottage turned out to be the cleanest house we've ever rented. The screened porches (yes, two of them, plus a deck) are a highlight. The side porch even has a TV! Beds are comfy, kitchen is well stocked. And even though it is a half hour drive to Boone, there is a lot to do right in Powder Horn neighborhood, especially if you have kids in the group: pool, paddleboat, lovely creek with swimming hole, fairy trail, tennis court. And gem mining and tubing at a place just outside the back gate!

Hidden mountain hideaway

Off the beaten path, windying roads, hiking trails on your door step, paddle boats, views and the roar of water in the distance. This gem has books hidden like treasure thoughout the cabin. Rain or shine the setting is beautiful and the cabin is comfortable. I would recommend AWD and coming in from the north during a storm. It is worth the drive into the Deep Gap.

Beautiful cabin with beautiful view

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Loved having the wood burning fire pit vs gas logs! The cabin was beautiful with everything you would need. It was even better than the pictures. It was a bit of a climb but well worth it to get the scenic views. Enjoyed having coffee in the morning watching the sunrise over the mountains. The roads were clear and well paved so the drive was easily accessible.

Weekend get away-Labor Day

It was an amazing cabin! We could hear the water flow from the cabin-extremely relaxing! Great area. Lots of hiking options near by! We hiked down to the water, not far, but straight down and straight up!!! Beautiful and worth doing! That trail head is 100 feet away if that much! Clean, great host and stayed and extra night! We will definitely do again! Thanks Susan for everything!

Wonderful!

We absolutely loved staying at this cabin. Sometimes I’m nervous about staying somewhere that is animal friendly because they can tend to be a little dirtier or less cared for, but not this cabin. It was one of the cleanest we’ve stayed at. The deck is fully enclosed so it was great to sit and relax while the kids ran around, knowing that even if they were briefly out of sight, they weren’t far and were safe. Our only regret of the trip was being off doing activities and not dedicating more time to relaxing at the cabin. Communication was also great with Susan!

Fall Getaway in the mountains

This little gem was perfect for a long weekend with friends. Tucked away in the beautiful setting of the Blue Ridge Mountain - with everything you need for a cozy weekend. The screened in porch with the fireplace and TV was used by us to just chill - the inside was very clean and comfortable.. We cooked in the evenings - as the drive down to a restaurant "seems" long.. so we stayed in. A lot of very cute little details make this cabin stay extra special. It feels like you are staying with a really good friend, who just wants to make your weekend extra special. Thank you !

Buried in the woods/mountains

This was a great place to stay. if you are looking for a place with screen porches this is IT! Listening to the sounds of nature while reading a book was blissful. The only drawback is the drive in. The roads are beautifully paved but I timed it. It's 19 minutes from the main road to the driveway. The whole time you're curving around the mountain. You will see deer at times. Don't go over the speed limit. It's tricky but doable. We stayed 12 days so it was a lot of driving but if you're not staying that long even the drive is part of the whole adventure. Susan is a great host and will take care of you.

I love this house!

My husband, 4 year old son, and I stayed in this house for a long weekend. I can say the cleanliness of the property was incredible and we had plenty of items not usually included for our convenience (paper towels, a ton of towels, lots of soaps, etc). The beds were the most comfortable beds in the world with the softest sheets (and we have bamboo sheets at home and these were better). We enjoyed this house so much. It is the first vacation I have gone on where it felt like a vacation on the first day. The only downside would be I was a bit nervous driving on the roads- but I think most people are more familiar with the area and would know what to expect. We haven't been able to stop thinking about this house and how relaxing our stay was - and I definitely want to book it as often as possible.

Anniversary trip

We had a 5-night stay in this cabin. It was just me and my husband celebrating our wedding anniversary. The size of the cabin was perfect for the two of us. I think if we had another couple there, that would have been fine also, but the couch and chairs really doesn’t accommodate it. I found myself constantly wanting to put my feet up wherever I was sitting and unless it was the couch, there wasn’t any other place. Fireplace was nice. King BR has a bath that connects to the living space. Older bathroom, but functional. It’s a trade off to the other room that’s smaller, but has a nicer and more updated bathroom with heated floors. The kitchen had pretty much all the necessary tools except for a decent spatula. Pots and pans were of good quality. Screened-in porch off the bedroom has a TV, but it is way too high to watch comfortably. The area is nice to just sit and listen to the creek except you have the view of your neighbors. The back deck is a better view of the woods, but it’s not screened in. It did offer a beautiful night sky view though. Didn’t take advantage of the facilities of the community. It is quite the drive into Boone and Blowing Rock. It’s a drive from the gate of the community to the cabin through some winding roads. That deterred us from wanting to head back out again. This may be the only reason why we may not stay here again. Otherwise we had a relaxing and lovely stay.
