We really enjoyed our stay at Beachside Bliss. The beach was outstanding except for all the dogs running loose. The fishing wasn't too bad. We caught as many catfish as we cared to but also a giant redfish and some some black sea bass. House was nice. A little small for our group of 12 teenagers and adults in the evening when it was cool (because it was too cold out on the porch) Also the one shower was well used. The porch was a great place to have our meals and the kitchen was decently stocked. We bought most of seafood at My Way Seafood in Panacea. They were outstanding!
If you're looking for a clean "old house" with a beautiful beach this is it. We had read reviews on the condition of the home so knew what was expected. The water has heavy iron/minerals and will make your light colored clothing stain yellowish orange and it smells bad so bring lots of water for drinking and making coffee etc...
All the family enjoyed spending time together every evening on the back porch in the rocking chairs. We would definitely consider coming back.
My family and I were in awe of this beautiful slice of paradise. When werenât enjoying the practically private beach with its fun sandbars and marine life, we were relaxing in one of the rocking chairs or swing on the porch with beautiful views of the palm trees and coast line. Every meal was enjoyed at the porch table with a nice summer breeze (most of the time). While the home itself is older, we felt right at home. Our only complaint was the water coming out of the faucets was heavy with iron and turned our nails and towels orange. Maintenance was called a few days into our trip to check for a filter that may need replacing. This issue was never resolved while we were there. But overall, our stay was great and we are always talking about staying here again next summer.
What an awesome property. The walk to the beach short and the beach was wonderful. Very private beach with white sand made for a perfect family getaway. The water was shallow enough for the kids to play with no worries and the water was very calm. Low tide was super cool to walk out on the sand bar.
The house was perfect for our family and the swing on the porch was super relaxing. Double fridges was huge with groceries being 20-30 minutes away.
Looking forward to hopefully staying next time we visit the area.
The sun rises and sun sets on the beach are beautiful. The house was clean and well maintained. Friendly people and just a short car ride to get to restaurants, etc.
As my sibling put it â itâs like a setting in a Nicholas Sparks bookâ
It was private and secluded! Cozy and comfy! The beds were great! The kitchen was stocked well!
Only complaint no curtains in the bathroom. The cushions on the living room furniture needs replaced. Not comfortable at all. But because we were together with our brothers and sisters, we were able to overlook that! Also we all grew up close by and some havenât been in the area for years so the reunion was amazing and this sweet little gem of a place was enjoyable overall!! Thank you for sharing it with us!
Secluded Paradise Piont of View was Definitely on Point.
Best Family stay vacation Home in the area, even though there is other homes close this place feels secluded and is Absolutely Wonderful , beach access is great, very kid/infant friendly , shell searching is the best. This really makes you relax just like you are in your own home! Loved everything about Point of View.
Wonderful house and location. We've gone to the coast at least 2x per year for the past 40 years, but always stayed on St. George Island. This was our first time at St. Theresa and it exceeded our expectations. We plan to make this place our new go-to. The house was well stocked and super clean. Our only wish is that it had more comfortable furniture in the living room area. A box fan on the porch is also a must in the summer. Overall, this place was fantastic.
This is our 2nd stay at Point of View, and I hope for many more. This place is only for people who value a natural and private setting over luxurious modern amenities. Thatâs what the name means!
Sitting on the porch is like looking out from your own private island. Nothing but shading trees, sparkling clean ocean, sand bars speckled with feeding shorebirds, wind through the pines and rustling the palms, waves breaking gently on the shore, and sparkling stars at night. The most perfect porch for a rain storm.
The beds are so comfortable and well placed for all night sea breezes if you open the front and back windows.
The kitchen has been pleasantly remodeled and opens to a gorgeous antique plank table that easily seats 8 or more for outdoor dining. I love that the owners pay such close attention to retaining the old Florida beach cottage character with their updates. So many homes lose their character in exchange for modern updates.
Our ONLY complaint was the loss of the outdoor shower! With children and playful adults we worried constantly about sand collecting in the drains.
The agents were immediately responsive and accommodating to our needs. We feel grateful to know about this unique and exceptional experience.
Wonderful! We loved our stay at Point of View, and will definitely be back. The house was perfect for our family of 6 adults and 4 kids under 5. The beach is perfect for kiddos with plenty of beach toys there at the house. There were a few issues since it is an older house, but nothing that was a huge inconvenience, and the property managers were easy to get ahold of and quick to respond.
What an amazing location, the best beach, so good for the little ones to play, the beach is very shallow, right in front of the house, with beautiful views. Loved the porch and swing, the windows helped to keep the noise away. The kitchen is well equipped and has lots of room in the bedrooms. They have beach chairs, boards, and a small umbrella (the big one was broken). Not so many channels and tv options and the Internet connection wasn't good but we didn't care, lots of other things to do, puzzles and books to read. Neighbors weren't close, very private location. Thank you so much for sharing your house and for helping us to make memories. Hope we can come back next year.
This was the perfect St. Theresa house, location was wonderful, beach and water were stunning. The house comfortably slept my family, only suggestion would be new living room furniture, was not comfortable. The outdoor brick shower was amazing, we will definately stay here again.
We been loving Point of View for years, for our family/friends getaway. We feel connected to this cottage & love seeing that the family of dolphins has grown each year. The kids play endlessly in the water & have a blast discovering the wide range of marine wildlife. It's my favorite place to unwind with family & friends. I was pleasantly surprised to see updated appliances this year (thank you!), but never minded the quirks of the old ones. Looking forward to next year. xoxo
Property description was right on. Loved the large screened in porch with rocking chairs and swing (complete with ocean view). Having 2 refrigerators was a plus. The view from upstairs bedroom windows at night was amazing (stars, palm trees, and ocean). Really liked the large open bedrooms. House didn't have a lot of stuff (clutter) around making wipe down easy, and had places to set things.
Bathroom could use a rug in front of shower. One trash can didnât have a lock, was worried a bear would get into it (we did call to info them). A bear (or other animal) had knocked down the locked can we had trash in by the road.
We are considering this rental again (we usually stay in Alligator Point).
We loved how rural this location is. Very private! Only thing it was missing was a pizza cutter LOL. Would recommend this location to anyone looking for a non touristy location!
I love this old house. I would love to know more history of it. It is very private and during the time we spent in March it was quiet on the beach with lots of great treasures to search for daily. The house is old and could use some small repairs (I fixed a door handle while there) but that is what I loved about it too you could feel the love and history of the house. I hope we get the opportunity to stay here again one day.
After reading other reviews before our trip I would say the only negative I agree with is the cushions on the furniture (especially inside) need updating, when it rains you can not sit on the porch without getting wet from wind blown rain, and there is no comfy place to sit inside. But it was March in FL, I would love to visit during warmer weather.
Overall I still love the house! Book it it's worth it!
Cant beat the location and access to the beach. The house had a lot of space and the backyard opens to the beach. There were beach chairs and toys for kids, which was very helpful. Itâd have been a 5 star stay except for a couple of things. There is only 1 full bath, and doors to both bathrooms were non-functional. Also, a storm went through the area and knocked out water and wi-fi. We got the water back in the evening and dint hear back from the contact on wi-fi for remainder of the stay.
We loved the character of this old Florida home. The wrap around porch was where we spent most of our time. Staring into the ocean through the palms and pines was truly majestic. The interior was nice and clean. The beds were very comfortable. The bed covers looked better in person than in the pics however they are more of a thin coverlet. I would suggest bringing your own blankets for the beds if you like more of a cozy feel. We brought our own water because we understand how well water can be at times, and glad we did. It is definitely time for a new oven as others have said. It may still technically work but the heating coil has come loose and just hangs down so it wouldâve hung in the food. My only complaint would be the porch floor. Itâs filthy. In desperate need of a deep clean a fresh coat of paint, but We will definitely be back!
