Unique Alamo City Warehouse Lofts, Parking, BBQ, Firepit
It's rare to find a place that's both historic and one-of-a-kind. Originally an auto repair shop. Themed decor.
This is a two-story 2,400 SF residential home with three bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms.
A spacious kitchen, living room with sleeper sofa, dining room, one bedroom with a king bed and adjoining full bathroom, a half bathroom, and a laundry room with washer and dryer for your use are located on the first floor.
Upstairs are two more bedrooms, each with two twin beds. Two more full bathrooms are located outside each bedroom. There is also a loft area with a full-size sofa, and another space with a second dining table/game table and games and puzzles.
Two roll-away beds and two twin air mattresses and two full air mattresses accommodate additional guests either upstairs in the loft or downstairs depending on your preference.
There is a firepit and BBQ grill. We are pet-friendly.
This house is not well maintained the a/c units do not cool the house by no means. The home is old and the homeowner blamed me for the window frame coming apart. No one even touched the frame of the window the bed was in front of it and thereâs no window sill. The caulking they used was already coming apart and during the two weeks I was there I guess the heat made the frame of the window come apart more. By no means was this my fault. Thereâs was no intentional damage to anything in the home whatsoever. Anything that was damaged was due to the homes age, the poor construct works and/or the heat. Donât stay here itâs hot and the homeowner seems to blame first for common wear and tear in the home due to her own lack of maintenance.
Soon you come in looks very insecure. AC took 5 hours or more to cool down. We had a big group with kids. We ended up leaving throughout the night because place was very hot and dirty. Toilet wouldnât flush. Ants were around the bed and restroom. The place has 6 mini splits , restrooms has no ac and it will take forever to cool down the whole place. From the outside it looks like an old garage dirtiness e
Check in was simple and easy. Great instructions easy to follow. The house or place was big, roomy, and truly a cool conversion from an auto shop to a VRBO rental. Location is close to the Alamodome and down town, very close. The neighborhood was quiet but I will say it is not the nicest part of town. The gentrification of the area is obvious as the remodels stand out. The a/c was not adequate in my opinion for the size of the unit. Each room had its own unit for heat/cooling and it took a whole day before it finally felt somewhat comfortable. I would stay again just never again in the hot summer months. The place needs a good cleaning and perhaps some linen upgrades. Also I will say the description of the beds was not accurate. What was actually there was 1 king bed, 5 twin beds, 1 sofa bed, and 2 rollaway beds. That is different than what is in the listing. There were also a couple of blow up mattress too. I would not recommend for a group over 9 to be comfortable.
If you are into industrial warehouse quirky chic, this is the place for you. This property is a mixture of styles that just work. It is centrally located to the Riverwalk while still being in a peaceful neighborhood. The pet fee is nominal compared to other properties and the host is wonderful. Book this!
This property offered plenty of space fot our group which was in for a basketball tournament. Thr place is really uniquely designed and is positioned very close to the downtown area. It serves us well fir what we needed being that we were gone most of the time and needed the room it provided. The A/C system had a hard time cooling the space comfortably. We had a big ant problem after ordering pizza while the boxes were on the counter ants overtook the pizza, our hotdog bread and breakfast items we had out on the counter. I contacted Joanna and she was very apologetic and concernned and offered help right away. We were out for basketball and couldn't link up but she accommated us by taking care of our food loss and offering and extra days stay at a discount which was greatly appreciated. Overall this property needs some TLC, but can work for a big group if you're not there to spend a lot of time at the property.
Unique property, not too far from Riverwalk, Alamo
There were a few bumps with this one. Cleaning staff forgot to make sure key was in lockbox for us, had to wait awhile to get in. Couldn't get upstairs AC units to work, but they randomly started during in the night. Owner was very responsive to problems. Decor is very unique and cool! Car bumpers on wall, old car pictures, industrial style.
Very unique building. Loved the interior! The area is a little sketchy though and the building on google maps is not up to date, so it looks abandoned if you look it up on maps. Overall good stay, but the area and exterior knocked it to 4 stars for me. The host was very communicative and the check in process was easy. Plenty of room for my family and friends! Iâd recommend this stay.
Overall our experience was good. We were in town for work and it was a convenient location to downtown and our work location. The place is clearly in an older building and pretty nicely renovated, but some things feel dirty when they do actually appear clean and just maybe old, stained, etc. Upon arriving we noticed it was very cold in the house due to the weather being chilly. We turned all of the heaters in the house on and cranked them as high as theyâd go (86 degrees!) but it never got very warm for the 3 days we were there. The outside temp was around freezing at night and 40s/50s in the day. That being said, there also werenât any blankets in the house that we could find. only thin sheets and very thin bed spreads. The beds overall were very comfortable, though the pillows were a little thin. I would recommend this place but do bring warm clothing and blankets if itâs cold outside. .
Very close to downtown, easy to get an Uber. Lots of sleeping and plenty of room for your family. Unique building with lots of character and great decor.
The property was great. It was exactly what we were needing for a 1 day trip to San Antonio for a Spurs game. It helped that the property was 6 minutes from The Frost Bank Center. The converted home had a fun theme and it made for great conversation amongst my big family. No complaints. I'd book the home again for future visits.
I do not recommend this rental. Upon opening the front door, were hit with a very musty odor. It seemed to be mostly in the kitchen and living room. The house was not very clean. On our second night stay, we found bugs in one of the beds upstairs and a scorpion on the floor. The towels were very thin and scratchy. The shower heads in the bathrooms were very low. The only outside area was between our rental, and the one across the way, which is where everyone was parking. There was not much room to sit outside and it was not kept up. Over all we had a very poor experience with this rental and left a day early. I do not recommend. I have a video of the bugs in the bed. Please do your due diligence before renting this property.
Our entire football staff stayed here and it was near perfect. Spacious and plenty of parking. Very convenient with its proximity to the convention center.
When finding the location it confused us but then it made us realize it was definitely a cool stay. The retro style was a nice touch to all of us staying. We were visiting someone on the Af Base and it was a quick drive there with the freeway being close. Downtown was also very close. Overall the family had a great time with having one big sleepover together and enjoying each others company.
