Where the Buffalo Roam. Private mountain views w/hot tub
Ready to get away from it all? Relax in this private little paradise. Minutes from La Plata County airport, you will be miles from stress. Sit out on the deck and take in the views or watch the sunset from the hot tub. Perhaps you're ready to go outside and play. In 30 minutes or less you can find numerous hiking/ biking trails, lakes, rivers and scenic downtown Durango. Or travel an hour to ski for the day!
The location and view was fantastic. The only issue we had was very low water pressure in the tub/shower and hot water was not hot just warm. Water pressure in the kitchen was fine
We stayed here for a brief vacation. The host gave us an unwarranted bad review. The utility of the property was misrepresented. The best feature was the hot tub; however the electronics on the hot tub were tempermental. We reported it to the host, but she never responded. We followed all hot tub rules. The water pressure in the shower was inadequate and this was not disclosed. The broiler on the stove barely worked. The propane tanks were empty and the house rules required we fill them. We bought a full one but never used it. You need 4 WD to access the driveway regardless of the time of year. There was only one entrance to the house. The front door lock was broken and if you locked it then you had to struggle to unlock it in the event of a fire. The door was unlocked when we arrived. We cleaned the house before we left and the host noted that we left it unclean. This is not false. We were contemplating leaving half way through the stay. There was no "host book" as required by VRBO outlining the rules, etc of the house. The host's bad review was just another negative element. We often stay in VRBOs and have never received such a bad review from a host. I absolutely do not recommend renting this.
We loved staying here the location was perfect. The only thing we wish it had was more water pressure. We loved the theme and the house. Thank you for a great stay.
Cute and cozy place! Was nice and quite at night and enjoyed some beautiful sunsets. Quick drive to and from Durango, but allowed a quiet setting outside of the city. Thank you for a nice stay!
This is the second time my husband and I have stayed at the property. This trip the hot tub was down, but we were notified ahead of time. It is a fabulous little house with privacy and great mountain views. We will be back!
We really enjoyed our stay. It was exactly what we wanted. It was quiet, secluded and the house met our expectations. Very clean and neat. The outside landscaping was beautiful with the mountains in the distance that were visible and enjoyed having coffee out on the deck and out by the sitting area also. We appreciated the ammendities that was offered and was allowed to use during our stay, including the hammock. I really liked where it was located and the property was big enough it gave us the opportunity to wander the area and look at what Colorodo has that Missouri doesn't when it comes to vegetation, landscaping, and ect. I've never seen wild cactus like I did there with the desert like soil and type of plants that grow there. I liked everything about it and didn't want to leave. My husband and I were more than satisfied and fulfilled our expectations. Can't forget the little prairie dog towns we saw just on both sides of the road driving up to the driveway of the house. That was the first for me seeing prairie dogs and their burrows.
Excellent off grid experience peace and quiet with Excellent mountain views beautiful floral comfortably bed cozy for two HOT TUB DEVINE would stay here again thanks
This is a cute little cabin with a nice hot tub but renter beware.... the drive to it is on a few miles of rough dirt roads and then when you get to the driveway it's a steep hill with twists and turns on even worse dirt! A truck with a trailer is difficult to get up this hill. We rented it during the Four Corners Rally and trailered our motorcycle but couldn't take our motorcycle off the trailer because it was too rough to ride it out of there. Huge disappointment!
Awesome property! Very private. Beautiful view in back. Phenomenal night sky!! Wonderfully landscaped and maintained yard. Awesome mineral hot tub. Just wish the bed was newer...
Overall 5 stars!!!
We stayed at this Vrbo as it was close but not too close to Durango. We loved the seclusion and beautiful views, especially being able to sit outside at night and see so many stars. The property was the perfect size for the two of us! Very cute and cozy!
We were in the area to celebrate my grandpa's life in South Fork & wanted to make a weekend out of it due to the travel time. We loved the exclusivity and views (especially from the hot tub!) and the many options to cook on. We enjoyed the front porch for more hours than we were inside but the inside furniture is comfy leather & the bed is on the harder side (which is great for me) so if you prefer softer bring a cover or use the large duvet they have as your base. :) If we ever find ourselves in the area again we will certainly book again!
P.S. We are super experienced on and off-road drivers so we made the drive in our Kia Rio - I don't recommend this during the rainy or snowy season, we would certainly have brought the jeep if it was then but wanted to get away with the gas mileage in the commuter.
Beautiful location! We enjoyed the cozy space and the fantastic views. Hot tub was a nice bonus. Short (and worth it!) drive into Durango and all of the surrounding areas. Tons of wildlife viewing. Washer/dryer not working when we were there which was a small bummer, but we managed. Driveway is a little steep, but we made it just fine in our small sedan (may be a challenge if too rainy or snowy, though. None of these things negatively impacted our stay but are things to consider. We loved this place! Thanks for accommodating us on our 30th anniversary trip!!
