Stay in the heart of Vancouver's historical Gastown. This heritage building has been completely restored and custom designed. The loft has the perfect mix of elegance and comfortability; ideal for a couple's retreat, a family visit or a business trip. 1000 sq ft (110 sq metres) of unique space right in the centre of Gastown Vancouver. Our brick and beam loft has been completely restored with every modern convenience. 20 ft ceilings (6 meters) and a spacious layout makes this a great place to stay while in Vancouver.
It is close to many great shops, and attractions as well as Vancouver Convention Centre and Rogers Arena. We are located in the entertainment district so there are acclaimed restaurants and bars all around us and weekends can get noisy from the street and music in the area.
Other details to note:
Depending on the season, we may not approve booking requests that leave a one night vacancy before or after the request. We also may not approve two night weekend bookings that are requested more than two weeks in advance, especially in the high season we require 3 night bookings on weekends. Minimum 4 night bookings are required during the Christmas/New Years holiday, unless approved otherwise.
This unit is located on the second floor - there is no elevator. The loft stairs inside of the suite are steep and open. Not recommended for younger or unattended children, or people with mobility challenges.
If you require a pack and play, we have one that must be reserved in advance and is based on availability.
Pets are not allowed unless authorized by the owner prior to check in. Service animals are only permitted when assisting someone with a disability.
**It is better to send an inquiry rather than a booking request if you have any questions or have not read our details thoroughly**
We stayed two nights while attending a concert at BC Place, it was an easy walk there. Close to lots of restaurants and shops. Clean and great communication, would recommend
Place is fantastic. High quality interiors.
It's located on the street with bars and cafes. So, the street is super busy on weekend nights. One downside is that Fri and Sat nights, you may hear dance music till 2 to 3am in the morning. Just a continuous low volume rhythm/beat, nothing crazy.
Other thing... this place is at the edge where homeless folks begin. But we're from SF, so very much used to that. Don't worry, they don't rob or harm you.
Plenty of street and paid parking nearby.
In summary, I'd stay here again. Highly recommended.
We were four travelers, and for the start of our vacation, we couldn't have wished for anything better. It was very clean, and we felt
completely comfortable.
Communication was excellent, and the location is unbeatable. On weekends, you step right into the heart of the bustling city, so it can be quite loud. However, during the week, it's pleasantly quiet. We didn't miss a thing, and we had a fantastic time here. would come back anytime. Thank you for everything!
Mei-Ling the host was a delight to work with, and really went the extra mile to be accommodating.
The property is extremely well equipped for an extended stay, including full size laundry machines and a dishwasher!
Super clean, comfy bed and spacious bedroom. Maybe not the best choice for someone who struggles with stairs or who is extremely uncomfortable with any kind of noise, but for anyone else looking for a cool space to stay and work I couldnât recommend it any higher
Gorgeous apartment, the photos accurately reflect how great it is!
All beds were super comfortable, even the pull-down and day beds in the living room (my girls were excited to get into bed!)
Lots of lovely coffee shops nearby
We absolutely loved the location, pedestrian only area with so many great restaurants and shops, walking distance to so many things. The apartment is incredible.
The property fit my familyâs needs perfectly! We were two teens and two adults. There was plenty of space for everyone. We loved the location, within walking distance of lots of things, and close to transit and amazing food. The home was clean, well-maintained, offered a full kitchen and washer and dryer, AC, and TV. We are also history buffs, which made the apartment and neighborhood even more appealing. The host also gave us a handy guide that was helpful at several points during the trip. VRBO needs to give attention to its app (not the hostâs fault), which made using the inbox a challenge. But the host offered an alternative communication that worked well. Extra thanks to the hosts, who left a roll of duct tape available. We had a luggage mishap and it allowed us to get home without needing to purchase a new bag. Homeless people and addicts exist in every city. We had no issues at all with safety or security. Weâll be returning asap!
Beautiful loft but not a family friendly neighborhood
This loft was great but itâs not a family friendly area at all. I booked after reading other reviews saying that it was safe and great for families. We didnât find that to be the case. The homeless and drug users (the Uber driver called them zombies) are outside the doorstep and shout at all hours of the day and night.
Again, the unit is wonderful. Clean, spacious, and well stocked for your stay. Just donât book if you will be bringing your family.
Since our primary reason for the visit was to attend a wedding at L'Abbatoir, we were so lucky to find this space. Not only was it right across the street from the restaurant, but it was close/walking distance to almost everything we wanted to do, so perfectly located and provided a great space for our group of three adults and two kids to get some rest in at the end of the day. The communication throughout the process from pre-booking on was exceptional. Would highly recommend if you're in Vancouver and want to be in a hip area of the city.
We occasionally heard outbursts from the bar below at night, but the owners have done a lot to ensure that the noise does not travel to the upstairs sleeping loft. This neighborhood was very cool. Make sure to mind the instructions from the owners about how to avoid the homeless encampments. Walking about felt very safe as long as you avoid the 2-3 blocks where the homeless are concentrated. Gastown is a lovely area with a strong hipster vibe. We would stay here again.
Great place in the thick of Gastown. Well stocked. Clean. Accessible. Five full days: Walking Tours, Chinatown, Whale Watch out of Steveston, Brittania Mine Tour, Lynn Canyon, Aquarium. Allfrom
The loft is as pictured and overall we enjoyed our stay in the unit. The location was the real bummer for us. It was adjacent to Water street which is a charming great area of Gas Town. However, just a few steps away was a very concerning street - Hastings. There was a large group of homeless individuals along Hastings and we actually saw people doing drugs (Injectables, etc) in broad daylight. There are definitely routes you can take to be safe. Overall, with my infant and parents, they didn't feel safe. I would say, if it were just me and my husband we would've felt fine. At night the area does get loud, granted it was St Patty's weekend, but you can hear everything going on in front of the bar downstairs.
Again, overall the loft is as pictured and the host was very responsive and helpful. We just did not love the location.
This loft condo was perfect for our needs and situated within easy walking distance of Chinatown, downtown, and Gastown. We loved the place, though it did get a bit loud after the Canucks won a place in the play-offs!
Mom with two teen boys stayed the weekend. Perfect location to walk everywhere. It does get loud at night on weekends but the hosts provide soothing sound machines. Close to some of Vancouverâs best shops and restaurants. I would stay again.
The Gastown loft worked well for our family of 5 whilst in Vancouver. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go from the location. The apartment was clean, spacious and well appointed. Turning right when exiting apartment takes you to the Gastown strip which we loved, turning left provides an in-your-face experience of the openly drug using homeless. We were aware of the problem before arriving, but probably worse than expected. If youâre sensitive, then the location is not for you. We had no issues with the homeless, in fact one man with all his gear out on the door step was quite apologetic when I asked him to mind out with us coming through. We definitely had no regrets staying there and our teenage kids said they really enjoyed it.
Really great place! I was a little worried about unloading and parking, but it was so easy. Lots of space out front to pull in and unload and secure parking lots so close (just a 5 minute walk).
The place is so nice. It looks better than the pictures. Really beautiful master suite with sun tunnel that can be private or open to downstairs. Plenty of room for my 4 kids downstairs and a big TV to occupy their evenings. Nothing is fragile, so I wasn't worried about them messing anything up...and they were so nervous walking up and down the staircase that I knew noone would play on them anyways. And they loved the street view from the many windows.
They had everything we needed, very well stocked. Also, there's a convenience store right across the street for any small groceries we needed. Really great stay - my kids wanted to move in, lol. Thanks for everything!!
