The Lookout. 43acres overlooking 7 different mountain ranges
Beautiful home on the very top of 43acres, overlooking 7 mountain ranges. Centrally located between big sky ski resort and Bridger ski resort. A four wheel drive car, truck or suv is recommended from middle of October through April, winter months, due to snow storms and wind drifts The road is maintained year round as there are other houses in the area Relax by the pond, and explore the mountains right outside the back door.
We had a great time exploring gallatin valley and Bozeman with the lookout as our home base. The apartment is super comfortable, offers amazing views in literally every direction. If you are concerned about privacy given that this is an apartment above a barn - donât be. We never felt like this wasnât a stand alone Vrbo.Comment things to explore in the valley to the south and only about 25 min from the center of Bozeman if you want to go into town for dinner or to walk main street. Highly recommend the lookout if you want a relaxing stay surrounded by miles and miles of natural beauty and wildlife, and yet a short drive from town.
We loved our stay. The property is beautiful. The elk were everywhere. Our visit was memorable. No reservations about recommending the property to others.
The apartment and grounds were perfect for our family. It was private and quiet. The views were phenomenal and the amennities and decor were very well thought out. We really enjoyed our time and would definitely stay again.
Imagine sipping your morning coffee, breathing in the fresh mountain air, and seeing the sunrise starting to peek through the mountains. The views here are breathtaking and that is a reason to stay here. The host was very organized, ensuring that we had a smooth trip from the airport and an efficient check-in/out process. The property is clean, and well appointed with all of the standard hotel expectations met. The decor and fixtures are all modern, with extra bonuses like USB outlets near the bedside. The WiFi was reasonably fast and dependable, which is great for anyone that needs to check in with the office, or updating social media. The pre-check out chores are less demanding than other places I've stayed at, and the rules are very reasonable. It's about a 25 minute drive into Bozeman, but there are several places to eat, and a gas/convience store that is close by. It's about a 90 minute drive to the West entrance of Yellowstone from here. Expect to drive a little bit, but the views and peaceful retreat are worth it.I would highly recommend this stay, and can't wait to come back myself in a few years.
Well worth the short drive to downtown Bozeman. Over 100 Elk were roaming the fields next to the property when we stayed, along with amazing views of the valley.
Canât say enough good things about our stay. First time to Montana and we are so grateful to have found and stayed at this beautiful place. My three teenagers were somewhat reluctant to make the long trip out west, but the beauty of this home and the surrounding area is something none of us will ever forget. Itâs the last family vacation before two of our three children leave home for college and we couldnât have found a better place for our family to spend time together and make some great memories. Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks were great, too, but our three days/nights in Gallatin Gateway beforehand was clutch. Thank you, Hana!
Wow! Our family had the trip we were dreaming of at The Lookout! The house was super nice, very clean, thoughtfully stocked, and the view was incredible. The host went above and beyond to make sure that we had all that we needed and answered any questions that we had. We enjoyed being away from the business of town, and surrounded by the beauty of the Gallatin Gateway. I don't think there is a better spot in Bozeman, and I hope we can visit again.
The property was amazing. Every room had phenomenal views of the seven mountain ranges surrounding the property in the distance. The elk herd grazing in the back yard, the sky with no light pollution and the overall beauty of Montana was beyond compare. The house is very well equipped with everything you would need. I did a lot of cooking and even had a couple cast iron pans to use. The bed was very comfortable in the master bedroom. I totally understand the need for a four wheel drive car during winter months. The 1 and 1/2 mile drive in from the road is a hard dirt track and when the wind whips through there was some drifting with deep snow. It was a little challenging at times. They did plow at times but we seemed to leave for skiing early and had to deal with it. Hana and her family were very responsive and responded quickly to questions and concerns. We loved our visit and loved Montana and the people are so nice. Definitely go to Stacyâs, we enjoyed the food and atmosphere and wished we had gone earlier in the trip so we could have gone again! Great local place with good food, fun atmosphere and close to the house!
Beautiful accommodations however listing details were a little misleading. This location is not private it is an apartment on top of their garage which they frequent often. This apartment
is in a community on 43 acres not private at all. Bathroom door has no lock on it. Which can be a little tricky when sharing with teenagers. Otherwise very clean and supplied with the essentials needed.
This property was everything we expected. Wonderful amenities, secluded, private and vast panoramic views of Montana mountain ranges (Gallatin, Madison, Bridger, Tobacco Root, etc). Daily visits from area Elk herds made it feel like authentic Montana through and through.
We stayed here with our two boys (ages 8 and 11) and it was perfect. The location of the property is absolutely amazing. The host was wonderful and we had everything we needed. It is a short drive to downtown Bozeman. I highly recommend this place to stay.
