The recreation deck at Waikiki Banyan is currently undergoing a complete transformation and is scheduled to officially reopen on May 18, 2026.
Once completed, this will be the largest recreation deck in Waikiki, entirely rebuilt with all-new amenities, landscaping, and furniture. The redesigned space will include:

Location
The location was really good. The only bathroom was in the main bedroom which was a little weird as we were 4 adults travelling and hide a bed was very uncomfortable.

Great location and view
I stayed here with my wife and 1 year old child. This was a great stay for the price and I would stay again. Everything you need, and the free parking was a great bonus. Only real negative is the bathroom is a little tight but is as shown in the pictures and sometimes had to wait a couple minutes for the elevator.

Beautiful and Buggy
Room is comfortable, view is gorgeous, height of the room in the tower was nauseating, and hundreds of roaches joined us for our last two nights. Affordable, but you get what you pay for.

Overall the unit was good. The listing stated and pictures showed 2 beds but after arrival we discovered there was only 1 bed. That was just a minor setback and we utilized the couch bed. It was alarming to discover bugs that came out during the night. Again we accepted and managed. Great views, great staff, great accommodations. Thank you Hawaii!

The VRBO listing initially says the total of beds (2) and when you scroll down or click on Rooms & Beds you are able to see the exact setup. Furthermore, the listing text description is clear regarding the sleeping arrangements as for the Bedroom there is one King-size bed, and in the living a sleeper sofa. As for the bugs, we do have regular pest control in all of our units to prevent this kind of issue. Our team staff are available and respond promptly (when notified) for the time our guests have any concerns during their stay.
