The house was very clean. Exelent location for peace and quiet. Very spacious. The pictures shown on the site don't do it justice.Its quiet and out in the country. But close enough to Fredericksburg for it not to be a long trip to go to town.10 out of 10 definitely would stay again when I'm in the area.

Much needed break made special with such a wonderful place to stay. Loved being able to make breakfast before hiking everyday and returning to relaxing comfortable place. Wish we could’ve stayed longer

.Back 20

This was a great getaway for us. The house lacked nothing. For us the beds were too high so we made use of the recliner and sofa…slept great.Loved watching the deer, cotton tails, birds and two grey foxes! We hope to return in the fall.

This place was everything you could ask for and then some. The house was amazing and had everything you need to be comfortable. The view on the back patio was also amazing with a beautiful view of the hill country and all the wildlife you can think of from birds to deer. Would definitely recommend this place and would be back for sure.

Fabulous Retreat!

This property was truly exceptional - great attention to detail, loved the space and ability to lounge and relax. We loved the deer/deer feeder and observing them each day. Great star-gazing, close to town - cannot wait to go back. Just truly special, well-appointed. Just loved it!!!

We were in Fredericksburg only 2 days, but could easily have stayed 2 weeks at this location and been so very comfortable. Property was very clean, check in so very simple and house is ina wonderful spot.

Amazing Place

This home is beautiful, spotless, comfortable & private. The large deck out back is perfect. We saw several deer, morning & evenings, squirrels, lizards, hummingbirds, cardinals, a lg fox and even a wild pig. Everything we needed and then some was provided. This was a much needed trip & the host did not disappoint! Thank you for sharing this home with us, we did not want to leave.

We all needed some time away and this was just the place. It was away from everything. But easy to get to what we needed. Enjoying coffee and watching the birds and deer were the highlight of our trip. Perfect house for our trip.

Wonderful Home

The Back 20 has everything you would want in a vacation home. I could have spent weeks there. The inside is very tastefully done, and the outside decks are perfect. They even have a screened in porch for when the bugs come out at night. We saw deer and a ton of hummingbirds. They even have extra feed to fill feeders if they run dry. We love The Back 20 and are making plans to return.

We couldn't have asked for a better place to relax and unwind. The home was beautifully decorated with thoughtful touches in every room. Everything was spotless and cozy. The atmosphere was peaceful and calm, perfect for a relaxing getaway. Seeing the wildlife from the back porch was entertaining! From start to finish, this stay was everything we hoped for and more. We're already planning our return! Highly recommend to anyone looking for the perfect home-away-from-home. The only negative about the stay was that the icemaker and water dispenser in the refrigerator did not work so if you're planning on coming stop for ice and water otherwise the kitchen is well stocked!

Amazing place! The house itself is beautiful, with a modern country charm and all amenities needed. The back porch was certainly our favorite - we couldn't get enough of the family of deer visiting frequently, the hummingbirds and the butterflies and the epic star gazing! Would definitely return. Located just outside town for a peaceful getaway but close to restaurants and activities.

Beautiful country location

US290 wasn't far away, but we never heard a sound. The deer feeder had visitors every day, and once I filled the hummingbird feeders (from the juice provided) they were mobbed. Great house, perfect for 2 adult couples, comfortable furniture, nice TV setup, nice kitchen, and the beds were great.

One of the best rental properties I’ve stayed in

I was souring on staying in rental homes until this one redeemed my confidence. The location and home was stunning, but more than that was all the attention to detail. An abundance of towels and small supplies we all need when we are away from home was everywhere in the house. The check out procedure was uncomplicated and made what is a stressful time easy. On top of all that, the house was exceptionally clean. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat.

Can’t say enough good things. We selected a filter for a place with a fireplace. We even asked if they provided wood and they responded that they did not and we stated we would bring our own. When we arrived the wood burning stove has a sign that stated - It is not a working stove. The manual stated to not use it. Please correct the listing. Other than that it is a 10.

Beautiful property

Pros: beautiful home and property. Peaceful with hummingbirds everywhere and deer coming to the feeder Cons: about 10 minutes to downtown, opposite direction from wineries Issues: guessing that batteries are not changed in the smoke detectors each year…they went off all night and the one that needed to come down was too high to reach. They weren’t just chirping, they were actually going off so we did not get a lot of sleep that night. Called the 24 hour management line and didn’t receive a call back until the next afternoon. Internet also did not work the last day of our stay. Called the number and no one came out.
