First thing we did was open all the doors to enjoy the bay's views and ocean breeze. Fun layout and super comfortable. Beautiful sunrises! Easy 25 minute drive to University of Hawaii. Really enjoyed getting to know hosts too. Nice family.
We had an excellent stay at the property. The location was convenient for the events we had to attend in the North Shore area as well as visits to Kailua and Honolulu. We especially enjoyed watching the sunrise while having coffee next to the pool overlooking Kaneohe Bay. The hosts were wonderful, and we definitely hope to return for another visit!
We had a truly wonderful stay at this property. The location was ideal and the facilities were excellent â everything we needed was there. The building is older, but very well maintained, full of charm, and had absolutely no issues. It felt warm and homey, and the amenities were all thoughtfully provided.Even in the middle of August, we didnât need air conditioning at all â the constant gentle breeze kept the house perfectly cool and comfortable throughout the day and night. It was amazing! The host was incredibly kind and welcoming. We received such warm hospitality that it really made our stay special. We would love to return again next year!
The pool and upstairs decks have expansive views of the bay. We enjoyed watching aerial exercises at the Marine base across the way.Our hosts were extremely gracious and welcoming, and when an issue did arise they were quick to solve it.
We absolutely loved our stay here. Gail and Red were awesome! They view on the front patio is amazing and we enjoyed sitting out there drinking our coffee. The amenities were great and made our stay so much better.
The property is located by a marina in a residential neighborhood. We used it as a home base to explore north shore and Kailua. The layout of the property is a bit funky but it was spacious. The kitchenette is old and needs updating and a coat of paint. The owners live on the property and are very friendly and unintrusive.
I traveled to Oahu with my husband and six-year-old twins. It was our first time in Hawaii, and Malia, Gayle, and their family made us feel right at home. They were helpful, courteous, friendly, and responsive, gave great advice on places to go and eat, and went out of their way to make our stay wonderful. I was nervous about having my young kids in a shared space, given they can be overly energetic, but they were so kind and gracious and made us feel like part of the family. The home is lovely and in a fantastic location, and it was perfect for us. I'd go back in a heartbeat. Thank you to the entire Morris family for a truly memorable stay.
Nice property with beautiful views! Pictures all accurate and portray the sitting areas and nice pool very well. However the kitchen and bedroom areas are very old. Kitchen was adequate for storing in refrigerator and using microwave but otherwise not stocked very well. There were four of us but not small glasses or 4 spoons to use for ice cream or the like.
The property manager was out of town but communicated very nicely before we arrived. Her mother, who lived in big house was extremely nice and we loved talking to her. However, we suggest that the property manager leave a list for her to do if she isnât close by. There isnât much in this area of the island and we didnât want crowded Waikiki. Take time to enjoy the views if you lease this property.
We stayed in the guest house portion of a larger home. The property owners were home and helped to add character to this trip. I was worried about no air conditioning- but the Hawaiian breezes prevailed and sleeping was very comfortable. We had lots of privacy and really enjoyed the whole time
We had to come in for an emergency event, there were not a lot of lodging options. We were so lucky to find a place that fit us all and had the pool too!
We stayed here for 4 nights, and oh my gosh I will try to come back here. The neighborhood is quiet, with gorgeous sunrise views. I loved the outside hangout area by the pool, and our kids loved using the pool while we hung out nearby. Would love to stay here again. The homeowner is very kind and friendly, and she would stop by to chat when we were outside during the day. In the evenings we were able to use the pool and the outdoor areas as if we owned the place. Great house, great host, really loved this.
We came out from California for my grandfatherâs funeral. Most the services were in the Kaneohe area. So this is the perfect location. Not only is the home beautiful, but the atmosphere in the quiet bliss of the bay was phenomenal. The family was very friendly and inviting and hospitable the entire time. We enjoyed ourselves and their beautiful home and recommend to anyone that is looking for a quiet oasis with beautiful views.
My wife and I, along with our son and his girlfriend stayed at the VRBO for 4 nights. The two bedroom set up worked out great. We enjoyed having our other son, spouse, and grandson over to visit and enjoy the very clean, solar heated pool. The place has numerous decks with incredible views of the mountains, and Kaneohe Bay. It has water access also. The owner lives adjacent, and is super friendly and can help you with any needs you have.We look forward to staying there next trip.
It was unforgettable. The house and the view are spectacular. The whole family has been very kind, warm and helpful. While they gave us a space, they helped in anything we asked for without a heartbeat. I would stay here again. Gail and Malia, we appreciate this hospitality so much!
We had such a wonderful stay here. This is an absolutely beautiful home and location. Gorgeous property with amazing views and the most welcoming hosts! Everything was perfect, and we would love to come back!
We enjoyed a home together with 3 generations all under the same roof to enjoy the same sunrises and sunsets together!! Everything was perfect! The management made us feel like important guests. â€ïžâ€ïž
Quirky space in a great location with fantastic views
If you have the right expectations, this is a great place to base yourself for a stay on Oahu!
It is not a completely private getaway or a gleaming, modern space. It is more like a traditional Bed & Breakfast... without the Breakfast. You are staying across the pool from the owners' house, and you will interact with them a little. Gail was there to greet us and during our stay was very helpful with restaurant recommendations, electrical tape to fix our rental car keychain, and most things we requested. Her daughter (who manages the bookings/communication) stopped by a few times during our 9-night stay and asked if we could think of anything that was missing that she could look into getting. Very friendly and helpful folks.
Some things to note:
- There isn't a place to turn around in the parking area, at least not very easily. You need to be comfortable backing out the car through the gate, and it's not a straight-shot.
- As mentioned in the listing, there is no A/C. I was a bit worried. But there are ceiling fans in the bedrooms and by opening all the windows we got a good breeze to be comfortable overnight.
- The downstairs bathroom (shower & toilet) is between the bedroom and the stairs/kitchen, closed off by pocket doors on both sides. It is small, but does the trick. There is a small counter & sink in the bedroom.
- The dining area is outside under cover, and sheltered by movable glass walls/doors overlooking the bay.
A very unique set up that is in a gorgeous setting. The family hosting us was incredibly hospitable and eager to answer any questions and offer anything needed. This was the perfect set up for our small family get together. The pool and lounging space was just right for games, visiting, swimming, and central to any locations we wanted to visit. Loved our stay!
From the outset communication was wonderful. Upon arrival the host was a pleasure to enage with and the space was perfect for us! With the combination of indoor and outdoor space, it was much larger than expected and extremly comfortable for our group. Would highly recommend to anyone seeking accomodation in the area and thoroughly enjoyed the views every day. Wonderful stay and wonderful hosts! Thank you Malia & Gail!
