Welcome to East Downtown! This is a private 1st-floor bedroom with a private bathroom, ideal for up to 2 guests traveling for leisure or work. We are a 20-minute walk or a 5-minute drive to downtown, with easy access to the George R. Brown Convention Center, Discovery Green, Toyota Center, Minute Maid Park, BBVA Stadium, and more. Restaurants and bars are within walking distance, and a convenience store is just a 1-minute walk away. The home is also close to light rail stops, with convenient freeway access and easy Uber/Lyft availability.

Your stay is a private bedroom suite. The room is equipped with a microwave, mini fridge, utensils, cups, filtered refillable water, and instant coffee for your convenience. The room locks from the inside, as is standard for private rooms within a home. No kitchen or laundry.

The space includes a full private bathroom with a shower, a large closet, and essentials such as clean bedding, towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and hand soap. Extra blankets, a heater, and an iron with ironing board are also provided.

To keep the space comfortable for everyone, this is a no-smoking home. We ask that guests avoid unannounced visitors, observe quiet hours from 11 PM to 6 AM, and remove shoes prior to entering the room.

Check-in begins at 3 PM and check-out is at 11 AM. Check-in instructions will be shared on the day of arrival.

The host provided clear instructions on how to get in and out. The room was as expected, and it was nice having the mini fridge and microwave. A couple of downsides: (1) the ceiling fan was making a fairly loud squeaking noise, so be careful if you're sensitive to sound and also want the ceiling fan on; (2) the shower water would not get hot, it would only get to slightly below body temp, so it felt cool, but not frigid cold.

Nice room, smaller than expected but clean and only to 25 min walking distance to Dainkin Park, the area feels safe although is very empty when walking in the street. The only thing is that doesn’t have a TV as mentioned in the post.

Cheap and close to areas. Listing shows a gym-there is a cross fit gym across the street but not on site. Other renters may be upstairs in other rooms. Overall cheap and easy with everything needed. No TV in room but not a big deal if you plan to only sleep and shower in the room and do other things.

I stayed at this property for two days, and was attending a conference at the GEORGE R BROWN convention Center in Houston. The room was very nice. The bed was very comfortable. Had a nice washroom with shower and closet. And it was very easy to get to. The neighborhood seemed quite safe and I walked to the convention both days. In the morning I stopped at Brothers taco shop for breakfast and the food. There is absolutely amazing. It takes about 15 minutes door-to-door to the convention center. Highly recommended and very good value. The host is very accommodating, she went out of her way to make sure that everything went well.

When I arrived 23 hours ago, I was not provided with proper entry instructions. I could not open the main gate to get to the front door to enter the entry code provided. I had to contact you to receive additional instructions, which led to additional delays in gaining entry. You may want to update your check-in procedure to inform guests arriving after hours. I will keep the “No Shoes” policy brief. I can appreciate one’s beliefs, and abide by them - which I did as repulsive as it is to me. You may want to include this fact as part of the rental description. Lastly, the power outage. I notified you 13 hours ago there was a power outage. You sent me instructions on resetting a breaker 4 hours ago. I arrived at the rental at approximately 6PM this evening and could not get into the room because it was locked. 4 hours ago you confirmed the power had been out all day. Needless to say, my frozen foods are not editable any longer. 18 minutes after I inquired if anyone was home to unlock my door, someone arrived and you confirmed that it was finally unlocked. Again, might want to update the Rental Description to adequately provide renters with the knowledge that they cannot lock their room prior to departing for the day and have to rely on the availability of the owner to unlock when they get home. It is for these reasons I have checked out and am respectfully requesting a refund for Tuesday-Friday. Crickets…charged for 4 days I wasn’t even there.

Thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry your stay was impacted by the unexpected community-wide power outage. Regarding your concerns, the gate access instructions and check-in process are included in the listing and check-in instructions provided prior to arrival. The bedroom door configuration is also disclosed in the listing and was explained again upon your arrival, so it was not intended to be a surprise. The power outage affected the entire community and was unfortunately outside of our control. We understand how inconvenient this was and apologize that it occurred during your stay. Although these circumstances were beyond our control, we did offer a partial refund as a gesture of goodwill due to the inconvenience you experienced with accessing the home and the power outage. However, because you remained at the property for the duration of your reservation, we are unable to provide a full refund for the unused nights. We appreciate your feedback and will continue looking for ways to make the arrival process as clear as possible for future guests.
