Indulge in the best that the world renowned Lake Tahoe region has to offer! Wake up to mountain and lake views from every window and our decks. Spacious, clean and comfortable for everyone, this hosted holiday sanctuary offers every modern creature comfort and is perfectly sized for two or three families - sleeps up to 10 people total. This 4 bedroom, 2.5 bath upper floor unit has been furnished to spare no comfort. WiFi and large screen smartTVs throughout each floor give everyone the ability to enjoy each other while still maintaining privacy. Chef's kitchen fully stocked with cooking essentials including blender, hand mixer, crockpot slow cooker, salad spinner, spices/seasonings, coffee and tea. In addition to our spacious dining room, our main deck also includes a BBQ grill and comfortable outdoor dining table with built-in fire pit for dining al fresco in the summertime and cozy conversations by the fire. To ensure that you’ll enjoy a comfortable stay, we’ve installed a Nest smart thermostat with temperature sensors on each floor to manage the central forced air heating system, controlled by a Nest Hub display in the living room, as well as strategically placed portable air conditioning units for the summertime. Tahoe rarely gets hot enough to need air conditioning so we have not installed A/C units in every room. When needed, the central ventilation fan combined with the portable fans that we have placed in every room do a good job of circulating cool air from the portable A/C units throughout the house. The game room features a billiards table and large screen smartTV connected to a classic Nintendo Wii AND Xbox 360 with a variety of nostalgic games. Plenty of board games for everyone to enjoy together are available in the living room. We also try our best to spoil our guests with luxurious finishing touches - comfortable mattresses, fluffy spa towels, fun beach towels, essential toiletries including shampoo, conditioner and aromatherapy hand soaps, lotions, and body wash.
Additionally, you will have the option to access our semi-private hot tub via a set of exterior stairs. Because the hot tub is only accessible from the outside, everyone visiting with you will need to provide us with a release of liability and agree to the City’s rules regarding outdoor hot tubs before we’re able to grant you access.
After an exhilarating day of playing in the sun, on the beach or on the slopes, relax your tired muscles and soak in our oversized bathtub, sink into our plush couches or snuggle up by our cozy fireplace. We even have an accessible standard power outlet that you can plug your EV charging cable into. Supercharging stations are also available just a few blocks away. We’ve truly tried our best to think of every convenience that you might need and aspire to be the perfect sanctuary for you to call home while exploring the spectacular Tahoe region!
Nestled in between the sandy shores and crystal clear waters of Lake Tahoe (Lakeside Beach is just 3 mins walk to the west), the ski slopes of Heavenly Mountain Resort & Heavenly Village (only 8 mins stroll to the east) and Edgewood Golf, Harvey’s Arena, Tahoe Event Center and all of the casinos, theaters & nightlife (just a short 10-19 mins stroll to the north) - we are located in the absolute BEST location in South Lake Tahoe! In fact, we’re one of the very few properties in the entire region that is both lakeside and ski-in/ski-out! Save precious time from waiting in long lines just to get into parking lots, skip the tedious search for expensive parking and enjoy your stay at our beautiful alpine retreat instead. Leave your car, stress, traffic and parking headaches behind as our home is within easy walking distance to restaurants; movie theater; groceries; local breweries; the world class Edgewood Golf Course (rated as one of Golf Digest’s top golf courses and home to the American Century Championship Celebrity Golf Tournament); Casinos; nightlife; concerts, festivals & conventions at both Harvey’s Outdoor Arena and the new Tahoe Blue Event Center; and of course, the beach, skiing & snowboarding!
During the peak summer season, only limited public access to Lakeside Beach is available for $30 per adult per day ($20 per child 6 - 17). However, our guests are granted access to Lakeside Beach and all of its amenities including picnic tables, playground, swings, volleyball net, restrooms, lockers, breakwaters to protect young swimmers, air pump to blow up your inflatable beach toys & more for only $5 per person (over 5 years old), per day. Our guests can also enjoy a 50% discount on beach rentals (umbrellas, beach chairs, games…) as well as access to Lakeside Beach for free after 5pm during the summer & any time of day during the spring, fall and winter. Furthermore, Lakeside Marina at Lakeside Beach offers kayaks, paddleboards, jet skis, boats & other watercraft rentals. There is a charming event venue on the north end with a walkway & seating area. It is available to be reserved for weddings, family reunions & other events. Enjoy casual lakeside dining on the beach at Lakeside Beach Grill (banquet facilities available in their wind protected outdoor dining patio). Lakeside Beach is also the perfect 4th of July fireworks viewing spot! In addition, there is a water taxi which runs between Lakeside Marina, Timber Cove, Round Hill Pines and circles through Emerald Bay as well as carriage rides nearby.
For music lovers, summertime brings a series of concerts at Harvey’s Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena (12 mins stroll) and the brand new Tahoe Blue Event Center (19 mins stroll) as well as the various casinos. Some of these concerts are audible from our decks and might conclude with a fireworks show, which is viewable from our dining room window or front patio. For golf enthusiasts, we’re only an 18 mins walk to Edgewood, which hosts the annual American Century Championship Celebrity Golf Tournament in July. Or rent a jet ski, kayak or paddleboard from Lakeside Marina and paddle over to the shores of Edgewood in just 12 mins for some celebrity sightseeing and to catch the action from the lake. Furthermore, Heavenly Mountain offers a host of summertime activities including zip lining, ropes course, gemstone panning, rock climbing wall, summer tubing, mountain coaster, 4x4 mountain expedition tours, and of course, hiking and mountain biking trails.
If you do decide to come with a car, May/June is the perfect time to come and explore the region’s waterfalls at their peak. Early October is the perfect time to come and experience the salmon run at Taylor Creek. Or explore spectacular Emerald Bay or Sand Harbor Beach year round - all a short drive away. Other year round attractions that are within an easy 10 minute walk include miniature golf, axe throwing, massage and spa.
The ski lifts via Heavenly Gondola are only a short (~8 mins) walk away. Enjoy all of the amenities, including lots of dining options, locker rentals, snow tubing, ice skating and après-ski attractions at Heavenly Village - which makes our home practically ski-in/ski-out. We are quite literally in the heart of all the fun!
There are many ways to get here, with nearby airports in Reno, Sacramento & San Francisco. The South Tahoe Airporter shuttle offers affordable door to door service from the Reno Airport. Once you’re here, there are plenty of electric scooters, bikes and other vehicles available for rent nearby as well as easy access to Uber/Lyft. In addition, the city of South Lake Tahoe offers a free shuttle service - https://ss-tma.org/lake-link/ - that can take you to the ski lifts, casinos, golf, etc.
Note that this hosted vacation home has not been set up to be child proof and may not be suitable for toddlers and young children. Infants and children who are mature, capable of and understand how to keep themselves out of harm’s way are welcome. Walking times listed are based on Google Maps estimates but individual experiences may vary depending on weather conditions, physical fitness level, ability to adjust to altitude, etc.
We try very hard to ensure that everyone (you, our valued guests AND our wonderful neighbors who live here full time) can enjoy the peace and tranquility of our super quiet and highly cherished Lakeside Park neighborhood. IF YOUR DEFINITION OF HAVING A GOOD TIME INCLUDES LOUD ANIMATED BEHAVIOR AT ANY TIME OF DAY OR NIGHT (for example: playing music loud enough where you have to raise your voices in order to hear each other, consuming alcohol or any other mind altering substance to the point where you don't even realize that you're shouting at each other or exhibiting rowdy, obnoxious and/or intoxicated behavior, then THIS IS NOT THE HOUSE FOR YOU. However, if you believe that you'll be able to have a great time while demonstrating a tremendous amount of respect to our neighbors (as they will to you) and to our property, then we welcome the opportunity to host your alpine adventures!
Must be at least 30 years of age to rent. Not pets. No smoking. No disruptive behavior, parties or events of any sort during any time of day. Absolutely no noise outside on decks or exterior of property after 10pm daily. Maximum of 6 adults and 2 vehicles in the wintertime. There is a $350 replacement fee for each lost/missing parking pass. Please note that as VRBO's damage protection policy does not cover fines or penalties that might get imposed by the City due to noise or parking violations by guests, we must charge a $2,500 security deposit upfront.
Need an even larger house? We also have a 6 bedroom option that sleeps up to 14 people available. Please reach out for pricing and options.
We look forward to welcoming you!
