Kitchen was well-stocked, we had everything we needed. Joel and Lydia timely communicated to us the seamless check in process and let us know they were there to assist if we needed anything but otherwise were out of the way!Would definitely stay again.
We loved our stay! The showers, floors, beds, and kitchen were all extremely clean. Very pleased with everything. The stairs were a little steep & narrow, so maybe not a good option for people with bad joints, but all of us 20/30-something year-oldâs really enjoyed our stay. The hosts were extremely quick on communication and very friendly. We got to meet Joel one of the days walking out and he was so kind. Happy to have stayed here.
Great spot and really easy checkin and check out process. The location was within walking distance to different restaurants and was perfect for our trip.
We enjoyed staying here. The hosts were extremely nice and the property had everything we were looking for.
Location is right on the edge of downtown Portland. Shops and most restaurants are just a short walk.
We would stay here again!
Joel and Lydia's apt is lovely. Spotlessly clean, well appointed, sunny, a delight. The area is very walkable to the port section of town and close to restaurants and shopping. We enjoyed our stay there and would stay again.
Great hosts, very nice place, good location. Not sure if the upstairs shower head was supposed to work but the hand-held one did so we were able to manage. Thanks again for a great stay!
Clean, spacious and very well maintained apartment
The apartment was a nice surprise as rooms are much spacier than we thought from the listing. Very clean, comfortable and hosts were great at communicating. I highly recommend this property for a group of friends or family.
Our group of five (~55-65-year-olds) truly had a great getaway at Lydia and Joelâs apartment and they were excellent hosts.
The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable, while the living areas were perfect for gathering for morning coffee and regrouping after shopping, sightseeing, socializing, lunching/brunching, and dinners out. We were an easy walk to the MANY area restaurants, shopping, Portland Museum of Art (free 3rd Thurs), happy hours, and bowling. We would stay here again!
The house is in great condition and is decorated nicely. Joel is kind and really accommodating. It is super close to some fun, trendy spots but I would suggest keeping a buddy system if youâre walking along the street at night (similar to any city). Itâs a great spot for big groups!
I am giving the rental a 5 star because the owner Joel was super friendly an responses and unit is beautiful and very clean. The only issue we encountered was the bathrooms. We specifically rented this house because it has 2 bathrooms(showers). One shower is not usable so we all had to share 1 shower. Not the end of the world but I could have rented a place for much less with 1 shower to share. The 2nd bath does have a tub if that is something you are open to.
Again, the rental is beautiful and very clean.
Pros: The place is absolutely beautiful, exactly as pictured. Tons of room, great facilities. Very clean. Great water pressure and plenty of hot water. We had an issue with the smoke detector and Joel was very responsive. Only a few blocks to restaurants and shopping.
Cons: The homeless situation (very sad) is quite apparent in this neighborhood. Didn't feel unsafe per se, but it was questionable at times. Quite a bit of yelling right outside the house, often after midnight, often obscene. Definitely kept us awake one or two nights. Also, the upstairs shower head is very low, I'm 5' 9" and had to duck to be under it.
Overall, a great place to stay, just stay aware of your surroundings.
Our first time in Portland was such a blast! This property is exactly as pictured and described here. The kitchen is very cute too which wasnât shown in the photos. Joel was great and communication was clear. He even worked to get our group extra parking spots. Would definitely recommend this property just a 15 minute walk to most things we wanted to do downtown
