We are a couple who work in fashion and media, and we love to host. We are tapped into lots of fun and cool things to do, and we love sharing them with our guests.

Once upon a time, there was a hawk and a bear who roamed the Catskills region looking for the perfect cottage. They found it in Pond Eddy, a quiet hamlet bordering the Delaware River, an easy drive from New York City and the tri-state area.

Close your eyes and imagine a slower and more peaceful pace of life, waking up to the sound of birdsong in a place that feels like your own. Walk downstairs to prepare your perfect cup of coffee or tea before walking outside barefoot to take your morning stretch under the pine trees, dip your toes in the cowboy pool in summer or enjoy leaf peeping by the firepit. HAWK & BEAR is the perfect cottage in nature – ideal for couples, solo travelers or remote workers. It’s a cozy retreat where you can find creative inspiration, and a comfortable oasis to relax after a day of exploring local hiking trails or canoeing.

Drive through Hawk’s Nest and along State Route 97, which snakes around the Delaware River, then turn on to a private road with layers of bracken ferns. You have arrived at your destination.

HAWK & BEAR Cottage is on a 1.4-acre wooded plot, nestled among a small, quiet community of homes, just two to three hours from New York City and the tri-state area.

Outside, you have a large deck, cowboy pool, bbq, firepit, hammock garden and an outdoor nook for salads in the sun or dining under the stars. By day, HAWK & BEAR offers plenty of south-facing natural light, and at night you get great sunsets and clear starry skies, plus fairy lights for cozy s’mores by the fire.

Amenities include an oven and six-burner gas stove, a dishwasher, washing machine and dryer, smart TV with surround sound, air conditioning unit, and high-speed internet. You can also be assured of a great sleep at HAWK & BEAR, with both bedrooms featuring queen-size serenity foam mattresses with gel-infused foam layers and pocket coils that will keep you cool in summer. The premium mattresses are also designed for sleepers with back pain, and offer great motion isolation.

The cottage is on a small private road used by other neighbors, and it has a wraparound driveway for four cars. The house has a generous private view of a wooded 1.4-acre backyard. You will be surrounded by tall trees, birdsong, chirping chipmunks and sometimes gobbling turkey, prancing deer, and hawks circling above in the sky. Life has many pleasures, and HAWK & BEAR Cottage is one of them.
