Private neighborhood, in a small bay, with access to boat launch, docks to fish from. Hiking trails through old growth forest accessible from house. Beaches, and freshwater lake w/swimming area, in state park, which surrounds the neighborhood. Jet Boat tours of Deception Pass depart within walking distance. Marina at bottom of hill, or spend time on 500sf deck watching water activities below!
The house truly was a home in the most positive of ways. It was warm, well equipped. And the owner was quite helpful when needed. Had a few great suggestions of places to go. Only thought is that we could have used some directions on the bidets and the upstairs shower. All in all a great place. Thanks
This home is gorgeous! The views are incredible! Everything you could want/need is here and the owner is available at a moments notice! Will definitely be staying here again if available! Thank you for a comfortable and wonderful stay!
Check-in: Easy. Kitchen was very well stocked with cooking implements and dishesâwould like a non- metal implement (turner) to use with nonstick pans. Wifi- very reliable. Host was very accommodating. Simple, undemanding check-out. Note: upstairs shower/jacuzzi was a challenge to use for seniors. Downstairs bathroom/shower worked fine for other occupants. Short-term stays recommendedâstorage for luggage, clothing is limited. Overall, a lovely, comfortable place in a wonderful, beautiful area.
Everything about our stay was great! Check- in was easy, and check out was much easier than most VRBO listings. The house is gorgeous and a perfect getaway.
We were there for 2 days, a short visit but close to many things. We hit up the state park and Anacortes easily from this location. It was clean and comfortable and John was very helpful.
Our host was very friendly. the cabin is very cute. perfect for two close couples, family. Great location to enjoy Cornet Bay and the surrounding area. It was a little awkward utilizing the house, with the owners right outside in an RV. :/ but overall it was a nice stay.
John and Marge are wonderful hosts. Their home is absolutely beautiful and welcoming. The kitchen had everything! The beds were comfortable and the pillows on the bed upstairs were perfection (need to buy). We had plenty of room to park our boat and could drive right to the launch within minutes. The deck was great, amazing views and very peaceful. We even saw a few fireworks on the 4th! We really enjoyed our stay and it was hard to leave. Highly Recommend this property!
We had a lovely stay at this wonderful home. The balcony looked out over the sound and the birdfeeders attracted so many different kinds of birds. The home was charming and relaxing, and I would recommend it!
All the previous comments were correct about this place. It is a A frame shape cottage and it has a view of the water and marina. When we arrived it was beautiful sunny day, so we sat on the deck in very comfortable Adirondack chairs! It was just what we needed. The deck is lovely and the beds are so comfortable!! We went for several walks and even walked to a portion of the Deception Pass State Park and we could see the iconic bridge
Overall, the stay was great. The beds were comfortable, and it was a perfect location for our weekend events. Host was very communicative and friendly, however, it was not advertised that the property is his home, so that was a little strange to learn upon check-in. Master shower set up is also odd, but doable for a short time.
We stayed at this beautiful custom designed home for our 22nd anniversary and enjoyed every minute there! It is a three minute walk to a beautiful marina and bay and eight minute walk to deception pass park with beautiful views of the water! John, the property owner, was very friendly and helpful. He was flexible with the check in and check out times which was wonderful for us. It is an open concept home with a beautifully decorated Living room, dining room, kitchen and upstairs loft bedroom. There is also a deck outside where you can sit and have breakfast or a glass of wine and see the marina views! Rosario Beach is a quick 10 minute drive and there is a beautiful trail that takes you along the waterfront. Coupville is about 30 minutes and Langley is about an hour drive. We enjoyed a nice anniversary dinner in Coupville, which is a beautiful little town on the water! Highly recommend this place for a peaceful, relaxing getaway!
My wife Marjorie and I are both retired. Marjorie as a legal secretary/paralegal, and myself, I spent 8 years on active duty, another 19 at Bayliner Yachts, and another 10 as a maintenance director for 4 retirement communities. We've been pretty active most of our lives raising 2 boys. Living in this area, that involved a lot of boating activities, camping, and hiking. After the boys left, we decided to build a house in Cornet Bay, Whidbey Is. Wa. on a piece of property we acquired. We hit the road in a 36ft Country Coach for a year, and got as far as Virginia Beach, before covid sent us home. Looking for more road adventures.
My wife and I built this house, with a little help from our 2 sons. We think the location is heaven, and have pinched ourselves for 15 years. This offers us an opportunity to share this wonderful place with other people, while giving us some financial reward for the upkeep of the home. We love our motorhome, and look forward to staying there, while the home is rented.
The number of activities so close at hand are amazing. Bird watching is done from our deck. 5 types of raptors frequent our skies, and marine shorebirds and ducks call Cornet Bay home. There's a marina at the bottom of the hill. The trail for the Hoypus Point old growth forest, is accessed at the top of our street. No park fees, because you're technically in the park. Jet boat tours under Deception Pass bridge depart at the state park dock at the bottom of hill. Long for the ocean waves crashing on the beach? West beach in Deception Pass state park is 2 miles west, in the other half of the park, which also boasts a freshwater lake adjacent to the beach for swimming and fishing. Pass lake is another fly only lake nearby, as is Deception pass golf center, a par 3 course only 2 miles away. Anacortes is a quaint old railroad/logging town, turned multi marina tourist attraction, with downtown shops, restaurants, and gift shops abound.
