Feel secluded yet know you're minutes from the hustle and bustle of downtown Anchorage. Check-in and enjoy a good night's sleep in comfy bedding. Air purifiers and bedroom fan for each during the hot summer. The kitchen boasts granite counters and all the pots, pans, or bakeware needed to cook an Alaskan-size meal. We keep it very clean and simple for our guests.
The shopping district, trendy restaurants, and the museum are minutes away by car.
This was a very old Alaskan house, with thin carpeting and uneven floors. New kitchen counters, ratty old cupboards.Very iffy neighborhood, with a very scarey-looking place right next door, a big gate to get in to the apartment, with an electromagnetic lock and bars on the windows, and multiple locks on he front door. I did not feel safe coming in late at night by myself after being with my husband while he was in the hospital. Owner was cooperative and gracious. Bed was comfortable but so tall I had to take a big soup pot out of the cupboard to use as a step stool in order to climb onto the bed! There were air cleaners running in nearly every room. Bedroom one was noisy so I turned it off. 30 minutes later the stench of sewer gas filled the bedroom, so we had to turn the noisy air cleaner back on just so we could breathe in the bedroom while we slept. Nice big refrigerator, good stove, well appointed kitchen. But didnât feel safe at all.
Our family had an enjoyable stay. Location is good, quiet house in a quiet area of town. Downtown was only 10 minutes away by car, and for car renters, there's even a rental place too within the neighbourhood.
Overall the place was cozy, we had part of the house including the 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, living room, and a fully stocked kitchen for cooking home meals as well. We would definitely stay here again, if the opportunity arises.
Everything was fine, as advertised. An old home, a good deal of homeowner painted plywood carpentry, doors that don't fit, etc. But we really didn't mind. The kitchen was just right, there was a breakfast bar by a window, plenty of room in the living room, four chairs table, nice couch and one of those large self indulgent recliners. Not my thing but convenient for my duffle bag. We used the outdoor seating quite a bit as the weather was nice. I would reserve this place again no problem.
Had everything we needed with a full kitchen, and two bedrooms and a bathroom and living room. It doesnât say that it is attached to a downstairs apartment and the owners who live right next door with a door to their house from our master bedroom. We moved the dresser right in front of the door, so no one could enter very easily. But definitely a little surprising. Otherwise, was very quiet and we slept great. The front door is very secure! A bit outdated, but very clean.
Our experience at this property was overall enjoyable. The kitchen is nice and the house is clean. My only complaint is the door in the one bedroom must attach to a garage or something (you donât have access to it) and there were people hanging out there the one night and it was loud and a little tough to fall asleep. Other than that the stay was nice. The place is about 5-10 minute drive from downtown Anchorage.
This rental was awesome! The check-in process was incredibly easy and the house itself was really nice. It has a full kitchen with just about anything you could need. I would absolutely stay here again the next time I return to Anchorage.
My family stayed here for a few days over the summer. We had no problem with bugs and it was wonderful to sit outside and hangout in the midnight sun :)
The Kitchen had everything I needed (as the person who cooked all the meals) Spices, oils, very sharp knives, pots pans, etc. The coffee maker was wonderful! coffee, creamer, and sugar were all available. There was a hot water kettle and tea. I used the rice cooker and it made fantastic rice. The stove was gas and had a flattop in the middle that I made pancakes on yum! It was very easy to use and clean.
Every basic need that you might have was there. Shampoo, conditioner, bodywash, handsoap, dish detergent, etc (you might laugh at that but I once stayed in an 8 bedroom home that only had 1 roll of toilet paper and no soap or salt or anything available at all! We had to go out and buy everything!)
The hosts were prompt in responding to questions and were very helpful!
And finally... for those 40 and up a very important fact. the beds are comfortable. The pillows are fluffy. I had a wonderful nights sleep every night I was there.
Felt very comfortable staying here. The place is cute and clean as well. Also great central location near downtown. I didnât have a car here and never spent more than $10 on an Uber which is nice. Would definitely recommend this place.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this VRBO. It had everything we needed, and most of all "felt like home". The beds were very comfortable. The shower had good water pressure, and had ample hot water. There was a small yard for the pups, so they were able to get a little sunshine. There was also a park nearby where they could get some exercise. The kitchen had everything we needed, and had a huge refrigerator. If there was anything that we needed, Lisa was quick to respond to our needs. We highly recommend that you stay here. It was a wonderful stay!
Everything was great, was a nice trip back to Anchorage after 20 years. House was located in good location to see sites, downtown, etc. Hosts were great and very welcoming!
The property worked well. Nothing fancy, but clean and comfortable. My only real negative is it was a little bit away from key areas for nightlide, but could still walk there. A note for my tall friends; pretty low ceilings/showergead. But good place overall.
We are a busy couple that wears many hats. Vrbo is just one of them! We enjoy traveling and visiting family around the country. We enjoy the Alaskan lifestyle in the summertime at our cabin. Large family provides all the happiness in life we could ask for.
We have tried to make this a comfortable space. It has simple furnishings and decor to reflect a minimalist approach to Vrbo. It allows our guests the freedom of an area not cluttered with knick-knacks. Lots of counter space, and there is a full kitchen with all the bakeware and utensils you need if you like to cook. I also have an Instapot for those who want to go that route. The privacy hedge is nice to block out the neighborhood traffic. The gate ensures guests have to ring the bell before entering, and the fur baby is safe and secure in the 360-degree fenced area.
We are animal lovers and wanted to be able to allow a furry family member. Our great location to downtown, museum, train depot, base, and shopping makes our space only minutes from everything. Having the two bedrooms and the cozy 3/4 shower next to each other is another handy feature that adds to the tiny living aspectâno running down the hall in the middle of the night searching for the bathroom.
