Take a morning walk on the 10+ acre property and enjoy the sounds of Cook Brook as you plan your day's adventures. At night, gather around the fire pit and gaze into the starry sky. Within 5 minutes of Bromley and nearby Magic, Stratton, Manchester, and Weston. Your memories await!

This is a small family cabin located in the Green Mountain National Forest. ***COURTEOUS AND RESPECTFUL GUESTS ONLY PLEASE.***<\b>
Beautiful property that includes a brook, pond, and plenty of forest area. Tons of space in the porch area to stash your gear. Coat closet in hallway and dressers in each room for guest use. All bedrooms have roughly the same dimensions. Enjoy some classic arcade games like Ms Pac Man, Galaga, and more! The home is heated by a propane stove in the living room and each bedroom has its own heating unit. Window units are in the master bedroom and living room to take the edge off hot summer days. Fans are also provided for each room during summer months. The cabin accommodates 6 people max but 4 to 5 people is ideal. A nominal, per guest nightly fee is charged for occupancy over 4. Please ensure you accurately report the number of guests when you book.
Downtown Peru is walkable, and there is a general store 2 minutes away (JJ Hapgood) with a good selection of supplies, food, and essentials and another 5 minutes away (Bromley Market). Beyond that, Bromley is 4 minutes away, a grocery store ~10, Manchester ~15, Magic ~10, Stratton ~25, Okemo ~40, and Killington ~1hr. The Peru Fair is a mile away and walkable. You can apply JJ Hapgood General Store in Peru, VT for approximating GPS address.
We do our best to add value and provide upgraded offerings at no extra cost like a full suite of bed size options, premium plush towels, quality linens, comfortable mattresses, natural bath soaps, complimentary coffee, tea, adirondack chairs, and supplies for outdoor fires, including firewood. The kitchen is small but completely adequate with modern appliances, cookware, and seasonings. We offer a comprehensive PDF about the house and local activities and things to do.
The tap water is potable but most guests bring bottled water for drinking or a filtration device. Other items to make your stay more enjoyable include bug spray/sunscreen, headlamps, and quality footwear made for the outdoors - preferably waterproof. We ask that guests don't wear shoes in the house so slippers or heavy socks are also recommended.
Be aware that encounters with wild animals is possible.

You will have the entire cabin to yourself including 3-season porch area and outdoor fire pit area.
WE DO OUR BEST TO HAVE THE DRIVEWAY AND A PATH SHOVELED TO THE DOOR BUT IF ARRIVING IN SNOWY, BLIZZARD, OR STORM CONDITIONS THERE MAY BE DELAYS.
Have local caretaker available if anything is needed.
To stream TV, you will need a Roku account (free) and usernames/passwords for your cable provider or streaming services OR use the spare HDMI port for your own streaming device. A DVD player is provided.
Air conditioning: the master bedroom and living room units are designed to take the edge off especially high temperatures, not as a central AC cooling system. Please do not set below 75 degrees so the circuit breaker does not trigger.
Arcade game machine: press and hold the top left yellow player one button for 5-10 seconds to return to the main menu and select a different game to play. If the screen needs to be cleaned please use only a microfiber cloth or similar material for what you would use to clean eyeglasses or a TV screen.
We do not allow pets but if you have sensitivities or allergies please be aware the previous owners kept pets.
PLEASE COMMUNICATE - any issues that arise are often dealt with swiftly with a few messages. DON'T STRESS ENJOY YOUR STAY WE WILL ADDRESS ANY ISSUES THE BEST WE CAN.
WAIVER & RELEASE of LIABILITY: The owners compel all guests to use the home of 950 South Road, Peru, VT features, facilities and its grounds in the safest manner. Use of all features, including but not limited to the use of stairs, grounds, appliances, etc are done at the guests sole risk. Guests understand that they are fully responsible for use of all features and owners shall not be liable to guest for any claims related to illnesses, demands, injuries, damages, or actions arising out of or in connection with the misuse of facilities, natural events/disasters or general accidents on facility grounds. Guests choosing to use the firepit agree to do so safely and in accordance with house rules. Guests understand owners are not to be held responsible for damaged or lost personal property. Guest hereby holds owners harmless from any/all claims brought against them. Guest understands that by booking a reservation they are effectively agreeing to the terms of this Waiver and Release of Liability.
**FOR HEAT IN THE EVENT OF A POWER OUTAGE - READ BELOW**
FOREMOST: NEVER ATTEMPT TO LIGHT THE STOVE WITH AN OPEN FLAME OF ANY KIND.
Fireplace operation if power is out: be careful of surfaces if stove is still hot and ensure the stove is without power! If looking at stove, position yourself from the right side and on the floor. Look between stove legs and locate black and red wires. These wires connect to a plastic box. CAREFULLY lift and pull out this box; it is fixed with velcro and the wires are short. Slide open the box, install 4 AA batteries, and return it to the holder. The new batteries will allow the pilot to ignite. NOTE: Run CPI mode on the remote in cold/heating/winter months; otherwise, run IPI mode; toggle the up and down arrows and power button on the remote to switch between these modes.

If you are looking for a cabin getaway and the perfect place to enjoy the Vermont autumn this is it! The property is so beautiful and the cabin is incredibly cozy. I’m so glad we stayed here!

Cozy cabin in the woods
What a great place! The large property provides a lot of privacy with the convenience of being in a great location. Very clean cabin, comfortable furniture, and modern appliances. Easy check in process; Ryan is responsive and a pleasure to deal with. Perfect for our family vacation. We would stay again.

Perfect cabin in the woods experience. Beautiful picture windows in living room to enjoy winter wonderland outside. The porch was full of every winter took and aminity you would need which is exoeciamky thoughtful.

The house was as described. I loved how deep in the woods it is. The fire pit was well supplied. Comfortable bed. Living room was comfortable except for no coverings on the living room window. The sun shown in and made it very hot. We could have used additional kitchen towels and hand towels in the bathroom. Overall we enjoyed our stay. The house is close to towns and restaurants.
