The Bear Den

A great getaway on the Big Laramie River is waiting for you. If you are interested in fishing for trout the Big Laramie River is for you. When you stay at the Bear Den you have over 3 miles of access to river fishing. The Bear Den is secluded, newly remodeled, and nestled along the Big Laramie River. It affords numerous miles of hiking, ATV and snowmobile trails in Jelm BLM and in the Medicine Bow National Forest. The iconic Snowy Range Mountains are a short and scenic drive away.
We now offer electricity, water and internet for RV's. You can camp along the Big Laramie River.

The property was very nice. Access getting with a trailer is very difficult. Don’t recommend having family or friends over to see you they will charge you extra at the end !!! Our son came to see us as we traveled over 15 hours and he lived a few hours away. Wound up storming bad so he slept there we were charged an extra 200. All about the money here.

Amazing and peaceful property within steps of the river! The home was well stocked - plenty of kitchenware and towels, and extra pillows and blankets. This is our second stay and we look forward to the next one!

Very well maintained cabin with great amenities on scenic river

The property was well maintained and we thought one of the most well stocked rental we have had in years as far as kitchen essentials, extra towels etc. Very clean with nice landscaping and outdoor amenities and beautiful little Laramie River in the front yard.

June Laramie River Get-Away

This property is actually better than the pictures in the listing indicate! Kitchen / dining / wall of windows area was A!! We never even sat in the living room or turned on the TV. The entire property & view are just WOW!!! Thank you for sharing with us, we loved everything about it.

Wonderful getaway!

Beautiful views and very clean. We had a wonderful time. We loved how close it was for us to take the RZR and Can-Am to go riding the numerous trails. Definitely recommend staying at this beautiful home.

Winter wonderland!

Beautiful home! Our family of 5 really enjoyed staying at The Bear Den. Phil helped plow some snow so we could travel safely to and from the property. He went above and beyond for us. We had all we needed! Will definitely visit again!

Perfect Den for Mama & Papa bears

Absolutely lovely! Updated and well planned use of space. This cabin delivers comfortable, clean, expanded amenities with gorgeous surroundings. The teenagers could disperse and then come back together with a choice of areas to unify as a family. 2 patios, a hot tub, a nice mud room for ski stuff, nice den, gorgeous great room with dining and plenty of open space, sunshine, and outstanding views of river wildlife. Well heated, attention to detail, well stocked with everything you may have forgotten. Quiet, beautiful, peaceful. Just what we needed. Great hosts, sorry we never met, but sure appreciate your hospitality!

Thanksgiving stay

Such a perfect place to spend our thanksgiving and visit our oldest son. The property was clean, spacious, well stocked and absolutely perfect for a peaceful weekend !! We will definitely be back. Couldnt ask for more !

Gorgeous property

We had a great time at this beautiful home. The location was so quiet and peaceful. We loved watching wildlife from the lounge chairs and sitting in the hot tub under the stars. Everything was incredibly clean, organized and welcoming. We can't wait to visit again.

Perfect In Every Way

The title says it all. We do a fair amount of VRBO rentals and this house was by far the best when it comes to details and amenities. The owner has thought of everything. The property is beautiful. The stars and the sound of the river were two of our favorites while sitting outside. We highly recommend this house. We will be back.

Just a Beautiful Place

Enchanting house!

Beautiful get-away on the Big Laramie River. House was perfect for our family to spend time together. Loved spending time outside on the porch by the Chimenea having a fire going, taking in the views and lots of laughs. We took the ATV’s out during the day on the trails. It was a wonderful vacation where memories were made.

60th birthday get away

It was beautiful and peaceful. We were able to relax and de stress . Max-dog really enjoyed the river. Went to the wild horse sanctuary. They are absolutely stunning and glad that they are safe and will be taken care of.

The River runs Through It

Everything was so nice and accommodating! Watching all the wildlife from a wall of windows, was wonderful. We watched mule deer a herd of 23 we counted. We watched other fishermen catching fish in river. Enjoyed our family time together.

AMAZING Property! Fantastic hosts!

Loved, loved, loved this property! Best VRBO we have ever stayed in! Quiet, peaceful, well-appointed, comfortable, amazing area. Phil and Jennifer were wonderful hosts - communicative and responsive! Starlink Wi-do was awesome for remote working. Deer and red fox excellent co-workers, lol. Highly recommend! Great history regarding Dr. Bear. Hope to be back again some day!

Wonderful Property

We greatly enjoyed our stay from fishing and tubing in the river to relaxing in the hot tub. The house had everything we needed and many extras (bug spray, movies, yard games). The hosts were incredibly welcoming and gracious and helpful during our stay. We hope to next summer.

My wife and I purchased the Bear Den/Little Den in 2020. We renovated the entire cabin and created two separate rentals. The rentals provide a peaceful stay along the Big Laramie River in Jelm, WY. We live right across the river in this beautiful area.
