Your 5 Star Retreat! 3 King Beds-10 Min Walk to Downtown McKinney

This beautiful 1938 home has been fully updated, furnished and appointed with our guests in mind. An easy 10 minute walk to the Historic Downtown McKinney Square, 3 large bedrooms (all with King beds) and a queen pull out sofa in the living room, a light & bright open floorpan, an outdoor patio area with fire pit and dining table plus 2 dedicated driveway parking spots ...this property has it all. We'd love to host your group! See you soon!

**If you live in the DFW area and plan to book Cypress Cottage, please note that you must correspond with the host as to your reason for booking. We love to host DFW locals if you're truly planning on using the property as a home away from home. This house is on a beautiful residential street in historic downtown McKinney and it is not to be used as a local "venue". No "parties" allowed (more than 10 people on the property at any one time) and quiet hours are from 11pm-7am. Thank you for helping us keep our beautiful historic home in great condition!

One of the cutest and cleanest VRBO’s we have stayed in! Great location! Property host thought of every little detail and was very communicative. Snack basket and bottle of wine was a huge bonus! Highly recommend Cypress Cottage!

Visit to McKinney to Celebrate Birthday in November, 2024

We found that Cypress Cottage in McKinney, TX met our expectations in every way. It looks exactly as pictured in its photos on VRBO's website. Its three luxurious bedrooms with comfortable king-sized beds and two fully appointed bathrooms helped us relax during our busy weekend stay. The dining room with its exquisite round table located directly off the kitchen is perfect for enjoying a meal or playing a game of chess or cards. The cheery, pale yellow kitchen with its vintage silver pressed-tin backsplash is fully equipped with whatever tableware, plates, glassware, kitchen gadgets, and cooking utensils are needed to prepare a full meal or simply snacks. The ample living room with its big screen Smart TV easily provides comfortable seating for 1 to 6 guests to be entertained by a movie, while the smaller sitting room next to it is the ideal spot for more cozy chats. Cypress Cottage is located in a quiet neighborhood only a few blocks from McKinney's historic Chestnut Square where we spent 4 entertaining days shopping and eating at its great shops and restaurants during our stay. Cypress Cottage is very well-kept and in pristine condition. We particularly liked sitting on the lovely front porch in the morning to enjoy our coffee while watching neighbors with their dogs out for a morning stroll. We enjoyed a 5-Star travel experience at Cypress Cottage and look forward to returning for another pleasant stay there very soon. Best regards, Rebeca and Erik

Perfect!

Stayed for two days to host a friend with her daughters and it was fantastic. The place was clean and well kept. We were welcomed with fresh flowers and a bucket of awesome snacks. All rooms were clean and cozy, will stay again!!

Cozy & Fun

I brought my 1.5 year old daughter to stay to visit family and the owner offered to have a high chair ready for us! We enjoyed sitting on the front porch in the shade looking at all the beautiful plants and it’s a very convenient location. Kitchen had everything we needed and the host was very helpful.

Home away from Home!!

From the moment we stepped into the house it was welcoming and cozy!! The owner has thought of everything!!! So much thought has been put into this property, if you forgot something, no worries it will be in the house!! We went for a family event and my mother who doesn’t travel much thought this house was a perfect spot. We can’t wait to get this house for our future stay to the area. Thanks for a wonderful stay!!

I would give this 10 STARS if I could!

This home is amazing. It’s full of character and just absolutely charming. We arrived and were greeted with fresh flowers and a snack basket with a bottle of wine. It was a perfect welcome after traveling. The host is absolutely wonderful. She put so much attention to detail in every single room. There was a nice book selection, and lots of cozy spaces to sit and read. Our kids quickly found the game selection. We had so much fun staying up late and laughing as we played games! The beds were all SO COMFY. We appreciated the TVs in each room, so we could all have our own space when needed. You don’t need a thing—she’s thought of it all. My favorite find was the blankets in the living room, we all grabbed one and cozied up while we played games! The kitchen was also fun. We found ourselves changing our plans just so we could spend more time in the home together. I would absolutely stay here again. The host really is attentive and she responds quickly and with sincerity. I could feel how much she cared about making our stay perfect. There’s so much more I can share, but I encourage you to book this property and see for yourself how lovely everything is! It’s a perfect space to make precious memories with your loved ones.

She thought of everything!

I stayed here for a 4 day girls trip. Our group has been taking girls trips together for 10+ years and this is the best place we've stayed. The location was great. It was within walking distance downtown and the neighborhood felt very safe for a fitness walk. Inside the house, there were plenty of supplies plus many extras (too many to name here). Suffice it to say everytime we needed something, it was there. And it is thoughtfully furnished. The bedding was great and the couches were plentiful and comfortable. With 3 women sharing 1 bathroom, it was nice to have the baskets in the bathroom so we could each take one and then move our stuff out when we needed to dry our hair or put on makeup in the well lit hallway. In short, this house is amazing and lives up to its name of a 5 star resort. We would all highly recommend!

Had a wonderful stay in this clean, comfortable cottage. Over the top on amenities. Beds and bedding very comfortable. Kitchen has all you need for your meals. The fresh flowers were icing on the cake! Love the neighborhood.

Truly a Cozy Cottage

This cottage was dreamy! It is beautifully updated and decorated. The beds were so comfortable, and since there were 6 of us, it was so great that all the beds were king sized. There are also two sitting rooms plus a great fire pit with chairs outside. The owner, Kristine, left us a welcome basket of snacks, wine and maps of the area, which was so thoughtful! She was responded quickly to a couple of questions that we had. Everything about our stay was easy and super cozy!

Cypress Cottage

Cypress Cottage was the best VRBO rental we have ever been a guest at. Kristine went above and beyond to make our stay feel welcomed, at home, and her attention to detail was amazing. She even included a basket of goodies as a warm birthday wish for my husband. This was not expected but it was just one of the many things Kristine did to make us feel welcomed in her beautiful home. We will gladly return and tell all our friends and family about Cypress Cottage!

Amazing attention to detail

Wow! This was such a wonderful home! Kristine was great to communicate with and was so attentive to every detail! She welcomed our stay but warned us the place may not have everything for kids it terms of high chair, pack-n-play etc. But, then she left the sweetest gift basket full of treats that was totally geared towards kids and even put popsicles in the freezer for them, which were a huge hit! There were even beautiful fresh cut flowers! She thought of everything to make our stay perfect. Even had phone charger cords for guest to use! We lacked nothing during our stay and would definitely stay again!! I’m pretty sure she even put away some of her breakable decorations when she found out we had kids, which was such a blessing as that always stresses me out! We’ve stayed in many rental homes around the world and this one was definitely one of the best! Truly felt like home away from home! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Perfection

We have been renting houses/BnB’s for 23 years and several comments were made that this is the nicest place we’ve stayed. The decor is beautiful but subtle and calming. The beautiful flowers and the snacks on the table were a wonderful bonus. The location of the house was easy access to downtown and all contact with the hostess, Kristine, was prompt and very pleasant. McKinney is a lovely place to visit and Cypress Cottage is a perfect place to stay.

Graduation celebration

My family stayed at the Cypress Cottage for four nights. The home was clean and beautifully decorated. We enjoyed the firepit in the backyard in the evening with local wine, and coffee on the front porch in the morning. There were fun games and books for a rainy afternoon. Communication with the owner was easy and she was responsive. The downtown area was great fun with lots of shops and restaurants. We walked back and forth a few times.

Lovely cottage exceeded all expectations.

My family and I had an amazing time staying at Cypress Cottage. Everything is extremely well thought of, clean and beautiful. Communication was always detailed and readily available. All questions and concerns prior to our arrival were promptly addressed. Kristine is an outstanding host and we all agreed this has been our best experience staying at a rental property. We had an unforgettable stay and enjoyed all the amenities while also being so close to downtown Mckinney, which was a blast. We will definitely book again in the future.
