Welcome to Wayland Beach Cottage, your home away from home! Here are some of the things you can look forward to:

We're nearby to so many fun things to do, shop, and eat! Bring the family, see the sights, and come relax at Wayland Beach Cottage. We'd love to have you!

We welcome up to 2 house-trained, well-behaved dogs. The $50 pet fee should be added and paid at booking.

Level 2 EV charger available in the driveway. 40amp NAC, and we have a J1772 adapter available.

*Hot tub guidelines*
- Do not use glassware near the hot tub (plastic cups are available).
- Limit soaking to 15–30 minutes to avoid overheating, and stay hydrated.
- Avoid alcohol and drugs while using the hot tub.
- Dogs are not allowed in the hot tub, nor are children under 5 years old. All children should be supervised at all times.
- If you’re pregnant or have medical conditions (heart disease, high blood pressure, etc) please consult a doctor before use.
- If the hot tub is unusable during your stay, a max refund of 25% per night will be issued to you.
- Non-chlorine shock will be provided. If you use the hot tub, adding one (1) bottle of shock per day helps keep the water in its best condition between our visits. After adding the shock, please turn on the jets and wait at least 30 minutes before using the tub again. Please DO NOT add anything other than the shock that we’ve provided. No chlorine, soap, bubbles, oils, etc. These can cause dangerous chemical reactions that could harm you and damage the hot tub.

We visited for a wrestling tournament. I wish we had better weather but we enjoyed our stay here. Such a great stay and hospitality was great!

Home cooked meals!

Great kitchen - we came to visit our son who is stationed here. Home cooked meals and pies all week for him and a few of his friends. Close to everything and the base. Woild stay here again for sure.

We had a great time visiting with our son in Virginia for Thanksgiving. The house was great and worked perfect for hosting Thanksgiving. The house was clean and comfortable. Will definitely go back!

This was the second time we stayed here. The cottage is cute, clean and very welcoming. Perfect place if you have a pet, fenced in backyard with treats available 😃Communication with the host was easy and fast. Great location for us, plenty of sidewalks to walk and a park close by.

Very nice small house

A pleasant house for our family. Quiet neighborhood located close to everything we needed. Fenced backyard with a pergola was perfect for everyone, enjoyed especially by their small dog. We enjoyed playing cornhole. Lighting was very good. It was obvious that remodeling was well planned with attention to detail.

Quaint home in perfect location

We had a wonderful stay in this home. It is beautifully furnished and the owners provide all of the necessities. The back yard was absolutely perfect for our dogs who enjoyed running around without having to be leashed. We also enjoyed sitting out there in the evenings. The location is great for access to Norfolk and Virginia Beach. There is also a public beach about a mile away from the property. Emily the owner was incredible to work with and I highly recommend this property.

Navy Graduation Trip

This property was exactly and accurately depicted on VRBO. It was bright, clean, stocked with many household items which were used and appreciated, such as the Keurig coffee maker and supplies. The appliances were shiny and modern, the windows and floors clean, the furnishing bright, clean and welcoming. We were extremely comfortable and satisfied with this home. The host communicated check in and check out procedures, was available if needed (we did not have a need), and the host obviously takes pride in presenting a lovely home to guests.

Beautiful

Such a lovely place. The bed sheets were soooo soft. I am definitely OCD because I looked at the glasses and silverware and it was spotless. I need quiet at night and it was literally perfect. Little touches like labeling everything, water in the fridge and small snacks are so very important. Truly loved the house, make your reservation now.

Graduation getaway

In town for son’s graduation. Well appointed home. Cozy and clean. Quiet neighborhood. Each bedroom had a three prong charger for various devices- nice touch. Close to bay beaches north of downtown Norfolk. Convenient to Virginia Beach and surroundings. Highly recommend. Host was very helpful prior to and during stay. Great place to stay with my adult kids coming in for graduation.

Home away from home!

This was our first time staying in a place that provided most of what we needed. You can tell that Emily thought about everything that a family would need when being on vacation. We had plenty of towels/washcloths, there was liquid soap & shampoo in the shower. The kitchen had everything in it ☺️ food was the only thing we had to purchase. The laundry room was well stocked. Books and Board games available in the living room (we definitely enjoyed playing one of the games). The beds were comfortable, which made it more relaxing. Everything was peaceful, we really felt like we were home away from home! I would definitely recommend this place over and over again to everyone. Thanks again Emily ☺️

Awesome experience!

We came to Norfolk to see the base and go to Virginia Beach the rest of the week. The house was amazing. Clean and quiet. Our hosts had everything we needed for the stay. Let’s just say we brought to much with us. The back yard was quiet and we enjoyed a nice night out on the back patio after we grilled out. And yes that was provided. Can’t say enough. Would love to get back in the upcoming years and stay longer. Thanks again!

Cute, clean, and comfortable

We loved our stay at this property. The hosts communicated well and promptly with instructions for check in/check out procedures as well as answering our questions before the stay. The house was lovely. The kitchen had everything we needed and was labeled to make things easy to find. We loved that they had smart tvs in each room, as well as fans, extra blankets, towels, etc. The spare dog bowl and treats were a nice touch. The backyard was perfect for us and our german shepherd, he didnt want to leave. The neighborhood was safe and quiet. Close to ocean view and downtown norfolk, about 30 minutes to Virginia Beach. We will definitely be back to stay- would highly recommend!

Absolute Gem! HIGHLY Recommend!!

This quaint little cottage was absolutely perfect for our family of three and our Mini Goldendoodle. We came to the Norfolk area for vacation and from this location we were able to do a great many things. The house was spotless and you could tell a lot of thought went into making the home as comfortable and convenient as possible. It was so nice not to have to guess which cabinet had what in it because everything was labeled perfectly. The beds were very comfortable, I usually have trouble sleeping through the night and had absolutely no trouble getting restful sleep every night we were there. Little details like having shampoo and body wash in the shower, coffee pods and all the necessary fixings, even though we didn't use them, there were some snacks in the cabinet as well. It was great to be able to do our laundry while we were there, I had very little to do when we got home. Having laundry pods and dryer sheets on hand was also very thoughtful and convenient. Hanging out in the backyard was very comfy, the grill worked really well and our dog loved running around and playing as it is very well fenced in. The neighborhood is very cute and quiet. We were able to take our dog for walks on the sidewalk and explore the area a little. Super convenient location. The hosts were absolutely wonderful and communicated quickly. I highly recommend this property! When in Norfolk we will definitely book here again! Thanks Emily for helping make our vacation so wonderful!

Exceptionally clean, comfortable, quiet

My family (three humans and two dogs) spent a very comfortable week here. The owners have thought of every little detail, and so we felt that we could find everything we needed. When little questions came up, they were very quick to respond via email. The house is located on a nondescript quiet residential street, and is just a few minutes from one of the nicest beaches I've ever been to. We would definitely return!
