The house is surrounded by a one-acre yard and peaceful pastures with cattle grazing in the distance, creating your own personal retreat. This historic 4-generation farm has been in our family for over 100 years and is recognized by the State of Texas as an official historic Family Heritage Farm! Listen to the songs of cardinals and bluebirds, and if you're lucky, you might even see a roadrunner or two! Enjoy your morning coffee while watching baby calves run and jump in the surrounding fields. Or enjoy a glass of wine with a beautiful Texas sunset, followed by some of the best star gazing in the state!

And although The Brickyard House is a great place to unplug and unwind, you can also enjoy our free Wi-Fi network to stream your favorite shows on a 55" HD TV or to login and get some work done. When you're ready to venture out, you can grab kolaches in the historic Czech town of West (less than 5 minutes away) or experience the recently revitalized downtown district of Waco (only about 15 minutes away). After an event at Baylor or after exploring the Magnolia Silos, escape the crowds and return to your own personal country retreat. Graduation

The farm house was an excellent respite from the business of Waco yet just a short 12 minute ride to Baylor. The beds slept wonderfully!! It was so peaceful we enjoyed early mornings watching the cows and the sun come up as well as quiet evenings.We will return.

Perfection - like a postcard

We had an amazing stay. The home is just perfect and having coffee looking out the window is a treasure. The house was very clean, Clyde was amazing if we had questions—-can not rate this high enough!

Repeat Guest - our stay was amazing again!

This is my 4th time to stay at the Brickyard House! It is wonderful - perfectly clean farmhouse in the country but so close to Waco. It is so serene to look out back and see the cows in the pasture. Wonderful!

This property was great for our family of 5. We used both beds and the pull-out sofa. We didn't get to spend as much time outside as we would have liked due to the rainy and stormy week we were there, but visited the cows when we could.:) Clyde was very responsive to all of our communication before, during and after our stay - even when we lost power at the house due to a thunderstorm! We didn't spend much time in West. It is an easy, quick trip into Waco. Our recommendations in Waco would be the Silos/Magnolia area (food trucks, shops, wiffle ball), Common Grounds Coffee, Baylor University campus, Fabled Bookstore, Bitty & Beau's, George's and Helberg Barbeque. Be sure to take a peek in all of the cabinets before heading to the grocery - this house had many general use items that we have had to purchase when staying at other rentals. We appreciated the detailed instructions in a binder for almost anything you could think of while staying. We would love to stay here on our next trip to Waco! Thanks again, Clyde, for everything!

Amazing place.

If you are looking for cozy and quiet, but close to the action this place is amazing. My sister and I are already talking about coming again. Clyde was great the house was amazing, the alpacas down the road were adorable.

Great place, great host, peaceful location = 5 stars all around!

Great location if you are looking for distance from Waco, but close enough to drive (or uber) in for the day (20 mins out). Clyde was fantastic at communicating and the house is spotless clean with cold water in the fridge waiting for your arrival. Beautiful and thoughtful updates! Highly recommend!

Cozy Country

We had such a wonderful stay at the Brickyard house! Clyde is the perfect host and very responsive to communications. The house was clean, spacious, and provided everything we could have possibly needed. And having coffee with the cows was such a sweet surprise! Super easy to get to nearby Waco too. We will be staying again!

Our most favorite VRBO!

This place is the perfect getaway. Beautiful country setting with town just a few minutes away. This is our 3rd time staying and it’s always exceptionally clean, well stocked and Clyde’s communication is the best ever. We highly recommend this stay! We’re spoiled now and nothing compares to it.

Second Stay at the Amazing Farmhouse!

From beginning to end, a wonderful weekend! The Farmhouse is the most peaceful spot. Perfectly clean, easy check-in, amazing communication with the host, everything provided for a fun relaxing time. Location is a quick trip to West or an easy 10 min drive into Waco. This is my second time to stay here and I will be back!

Private and comfy

I loved staying here for Baylor Family weekend. This was a much better option for us than a Waco hotel. So quaint and quiet and only 15 minutes campus. The beds were very comfy, so we slept great. I’ll have to say that the cows coming to the fence line for water in the mornings is the main reason I’ll come back. It added to the vibe for sure!

Beautiful home in a perfect setting

The house was exactly as advertised. As soon as you pull in you can tell that it was a family homestead and is well cared for. The giant trees made the lawn a great place to hang out and play. Clyde is a great communicator and a gracious host.

Best VRBO ever

This was by far one of the best places I’ve ever stayed at. The discrimination of this property is spot on in fact I believe it’s so much more. The communication was wonderful with the owner. From the moment you arrive it is clear to see this is a very cared and loved property. This isn’t a modge podge thrown together place. Nice appliances, furniture, linens, and dishes. Lastly COWS they are simply amazing and lovable I couldn’t wait to get up and see them in the morning and we came from Wisconsin where we can see cows all over something just hit differently here. Birds galore as well. The location was super quiet as well. I can not wait to come here again. I enjoyed it so much I wish I could have left them a thank you gift because our vacation was so perfect because of this place.

Best VRBO stay ever!

Clyde puts hospitality first and we felt so welcomed. His family home has been wonderfully renovated for guests and we had everything we needed for a fantastic stay. Quality through and through in the kitchen, living room, bedrooms. The surroundings are quiet and peaceful and the cows in the field are a key component of that peaceful presence one feels. For anyone who loves a cozy, quiet get-away, this is THE place to be!

Oh so peaceful!

The Brickyard House is easily one of our favorite VRBO rentals! When my husband and I decided to visit the West and Waco areas for a nice relaxing weekend to celebrate his birthday, we looked for a cozy cottage in a secluded area. The Brickyard House met all of our needs. It's literally surrounded by peaceful pastures and is located along a very quiet country road. The home was perfectly spotless, well-maintained and supplied with everything we needed and more. But being secluded didn't mean out of touch! Restaurants in West were less than a 10 minute drive. We enjoyed the Tipsy Lion. Everything in Waco was only about a half-hour away. We highly recommend George's Restaurant there! At night there were so many stars! And the king-sized bed was very comfortable. We both slept like babes. Even though we never needed anything, our host Clyde kept in touch and shared information about his lovely home and things to look for in the area. We will definitely look to stay there again in the future.

Relaxing Farm house

My Husband and I stayed one night for a out of town wedding we were attending and we didn't want to leave!! The host Clyde was very accommodating and very quick response. The Farm house had everything needed and more. We will definitely be booking this house again and stay longer!
