A quiet little retreat apartment located in a larger manor property on a quiet street. Near the center of St George's for shopping, dining and transportation.
Mark was a great host, knowledgeable and helpful with advise on activities and transportation. There is notebook of recommendations from previous guests as well.
Our host was welcoming, helpful with our questions and prompt in responding. The property included a lovely covered veranda we enjoyed every day. Our experience was one of friendly welcome by everyone with whom we interacted throughout the Bermuda Islands. This location was perfect for us; historic, everything we needed was within easy walking distance, and we look forward to our next visit!
This property was as described. Having not spent significant time in Bermuda on our own, this was a great location for us. The property is part of a beautiful home with charming character, but also conveniences. The master bedroom is quite roomy with its own mini split, plenty of room to spread out. The master also had a desk and dresser so we could leave things out instead of spending 10 days from a suitcase. Kitchen and living area are one open space. This is located right by a park and a supermarket is within a 5 minute walk. There are also some museums, churches, forts, shops and great restaurants all within walking distance. Other sites we planned on visiting we were able to utilize the bus easily and taxis are available. We enjoyed our stay here and met lots of friendly locals.
Charming; great location; free transportation passes are a huge plus!
Stayed a month during Bermuda's "winter". Crooked Elbow is a very clean, lovely large 1 bedroom apartment. Kitchen was a bit challenging as we cooked a lot: should replace warped large frying pan; sink is small - no dishwasher, but we adjusted. Especially enjoyed the sunroom's dining table for breakfasts & dinners. Enjoyed coffee/wine on lovely porch pictured. Apartment is 1 level. Free wifi worked great. TV gets all major stations. Laundromat is 3-minute walk (Beware: need to purchase laundry card & then add money to card - takes Bermuda dollars only). Local grocery store is 5 min walk. We did take the bus to Shelly Bay (15 min scenic ride) to occasionally shop at large grocery store right off bus stop - excellent fresh fish counter & larger selection of everything. We didn't use bedroom AC; owners may or may not be adding AC to living room/kitchen. Great location: bus is 3 min walk; 5 minute walk into town: nice restaurants, bakery, museums; short walk to Tobacco Bay beach; bus to Hamilton is about 45 min scenic ride. Bus routes take you to all the sites/walks you want to explore across entire island. Roads are narrow, winding, no shoulder - advise against scooters & for me, Dramamine was helpful! Crooked Elbow comes w/ free transportation passes(includes all bus routes & ferries. Can't emphasize enough how great it is to have these! Mrs. Rowe, owner, lives upstairs but certainly gives you your privacy. She is absolutely a delight to meet!
If you must have a Holiday Inn/Resort type place with new modern furniture etc, this is not the place for you. BUT, if you'd like to live in a charming historical rehabbed home, in the midst of a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and enjoy convenient transportation across the entire island, you'll enjoy Crooked Elbow .
Mark was an excellent host. He went out of his way to make us feel at home and provided everything we needed in his lovely newly-renovated apartment. The location was very handy and we really felt we were experiencing a Bermudian neighbourhood.
Thanks for a great time, Mark.

Grasmere was lovely! Fit the bill in every way for our family. We were very happy with everything and would stay here again. Mark was a fantastic host! Great recommendations for our fishing trip and we landed the elusive Blue Marlin! Thank you!
Crooked Elbow is an amazing place to stay! St George is old world Bermuda. Somers market is a block away. Oleanders rentals two blocks away! White Horse Tavern, The Wharf, Wahoos, and Mama Angieâs are a three minute walk away. Mark is the perfect host providing everything you could want. Thank you Mark for a great place to stay!
My wife and I spent eight days in St. Georges. It was our first time in Bermuda and if we ever come back we will definitely rent this apartment again. It was charming, spacious, and had everything we needed. More importantly, the location was great. Walking distance to restaurants, beaches, bus stops, and on the cutest street in Bermuda.
