À propos de cet hébergement

The Cape Cod-style home is right on the water and is meant for family enjoyment. (not a party house please) 4 bedrooms, a gorgeous living area and a breathtaking view of the lake! The gorgeous house has an L Shaped dock (in summer) which is great to sit on on a Muskoka chair with a glass of wine to wonders of nature!

Located in Cumberland Beach is a small village just north of Orillia. It is a very 2km drive from the famous Weber’s Burgers and about a 20-minute drive to Casino. From the rear window, you can see the popular Big Chief island.

Come inside to see a fully functional kitchen and large open kitchen space, or sit on the large deck under the umbrella or in the sun and watch the ducks, birds (Blue Jays, Orioles and Hummingbirds) and other wildlife living their best life. At night there is a nice fire pit for your enjoyment.

There is also a gas-powered BBQ with a sitting area outside for nice meals outside.

On rainy days, you can sit inside and enjoy movies or stream from your favourite service on the big screen tv.

Note that our capacity for the house is 8 people. 3 of the bedrooms are upstairs. There is a king-size bed, a queen in the 2nd bdrm. The 3rd bedroom has 2 Queen beds or for those that prefer more privacy, there is a 4th bedroom that has bunk beds on the main floor.

For those that love to swim the water is generally around knee deep for the first 100m and then it drops off. Enjoy the paddle boards, canoe or paddle boat and we encourage you to bring water shoes for the sandy/mushy bottom.

This is a quiet community with neighbours so we do discourage any groups that plan on playing loud music or using the house for any reason other than enjoying the environment.

There are also fruit markets and a local convenience store within walking distance and a boat slip for anyone bringing a boat. For those that plan on using the fire pit, make sure to get some wood on the way up Highway 11!

Almost perfect!

Il ne manquait que le soleil et quelques degrés supplémentaires Et un peu plus de propreté sur les planchers et dans les armoires et tiroirs de la cuisine, ainsi que leur contenu. Rien de majeur toutefois.Merci pour cette belle semaine.

Winter Get-Away

We were six seniors ( family and a friend). The Yellow House was perfect - clean, spacious, very well equipped. The lake view was beautiful, and although there was too much snow to enjoy the fire pit, there were games to be played, delicious dinners to enjoy, and, of course, the clicking of glasses to toast each other and our good health. Thank you so very much for opening your door to us.We would certainly recommend this rental to anyone planning a holiday in the area.

Beautiful lakehouse

We had a wonderful stay at the big yellow house on Lake Couchiching. Perfect for families, spacious and meticulously clean/organized. The back deck and dock were perfect for morning coffee watching the sunrise, the fire pit was perfect for the evenings. Thank you for an amazing experience.

Stay at the Big Yellow House

We had a lovely stay at the Big Yellow House. The cottage was beautifully renovated and really felt like our home away from home. The kitchen was well outfitted, the beds were comfortable, and there were tons of toys and games for the kids to play with. It did get quite warm upstairs but there were fans that helped a little. Thanks for the great accommodations. We would definitely go back again.

Great Place

One of the better lakefront properties we’ve visited. The dock and area of the lake was really calm and ideal relative to other areas of Lake Simcoe we’ve visited. The house was well kept and had all the amenities we needed.

Great Spot, Great Home

My wife and I and our 3 adult kids + their spouses/significant others (total of 8 adults plus one dog) had a great stay over an extended weekend. The home is wonderful (easily accommodating all of us) and the spot/location is excellent. The host (DJ) is efficient and thorough in his correspondence. We had a lovely stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with friends! It was really quiet and the accommodations were excellent. It was comfortable and we felt safe. The host was really good to deal and we would definitely consider booking again.

Enjoyed a nice and relaxing stay

My family and my dog enjoyed the stay during March Break. Your cottage is beautifully renovated and provided us a relaxing natural environment. All rooms are bright and airy. We enjoyed every meal in the kitchen where the beautiful lake is just right in front of us! The highlight of our stay was stargazing at night and watching the sunrise right at the backyard, steps from the lake. The location is good and not far from the attractions nearby. It’s a quiet and peaceful neighbourhood. We had a great time! My family may consider returning for another visit later.

Perfect!

This was our second time staying and it was perfect for our family. We were attending a celebration of life and this home was a warm and welcoming space for friends and family. Kitchen and bathrooms are very well stocked and super clean! Love the labels on the cupboards so you can find the right item. Beautiful views of the lake and easy to communicate with the host. This is a great location in a lovely neighborhood and convenient to anywhere in the Orillia area. Highly recommend and I’m sure we will be back! Thanks DJ!

Disappointed the dock was not available (for fishing). House was not as clean as it should be — left over open food in freezer, drawers with personal stuff left from last guest. Kitchen may have been organized at the beginning of the season, but stuff all over the place now. Didn’t see fire alarm system anywhere. Week was ok, but won’t go back.

Family weekend trip

Had a lovely time getting family together for the last weekend of summer, already planning when we can go back! Highly recommend when travelling with children. My kids loved playing in the bunk room, there were also toys and boardgames available that the whole family could play.

Wonderful End to Summer!

We spent a much needed relaxing week at this comfortable and cozy updated cottage. Gorgeous lake views and lots of space to stretch out kept us totally in vacation mode. House was super clean and I don’t believe we have ever rented a Vrbo as well stocked.. paper products, soaps, shampoos etc. Very much appreciated! (other owners could take a lesson here) One can tell this has been a much loved home. The neighborhood is very pretty and friendly which we enjoyed on our daily dog walks. Also did some bird watching and saw some amazing sunrises. After catching up with family there was still lots to do in the area and we made an easy day trip to Gravenhurst and Bracebridge. Thank you DJ for an excellent experience! Hope to be back soon :) Dee and Tim

Late Summer Adventure

We enjoyed our stay at this location. Clean premises on arrival, the view over the lake, a barbeque, and big patio contributed to our enjoyment. The muskoka chairs on the dock were well used! The close proximity to Orillia and walking trails is a bonus for this location. Lots of waterfowl (the feathered variety) kept us entertained. The shallow water level of the lake may not be for everyone. A wonderful visit, with thanks to management!

Beautiful and peaceful stay

This "cottage" is more like a home! It had an old charm on the outside but still wonderfully decorated, clean and modern on the inside. We had a great time spending most of our time outdoors on the lake with the paddle boat and boards and the best was watching the stars at night (saw some shooting stars!). Thanks again!

Very Clean and Comfortable

We stayed for 6 days and the weather wasn't great for half of it. Thankfully the home was very clean and equipped with everything we needed to feel comfortable and entertained indoors, as well as outdoors when it was nice out. A major issue I have with booking rentals is that they do not keep them as clean as they may look in the pictures, but this home was very clean. Thank you!

My family loves cottage life and have been living up in the Orillia area for 20+ years. We are keen to offer the same experience to families and small groups who are looking to enjoy the serenity and wonders of nature.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

This property was built by my parents who lived there from 1989 until 2022. Instead of selling the property entire we decided to allow others to enjoy it the way that we have. It is truly a family experience.
