Cabin by The Creek Located Minutes From New River Gorge National Park
Rustic Cabin by the Creek. Get away from it all, listen to the creek, swing on the porch. Located at the intersection of Hwy 16 and 60. We are 4 miles from Hawks Nest State Park and 11 miles from downtown Fayetteville, in close proximity to the New River Gorge and White Water Rafting. The kitchen is stocked with all you cooking needs. Full size refrigerator and a Grill on the front porch. Linens and towels are provided. No internet or cable and very limited cell service, a Great Escape!
The cabin was very nice and clean. Had a great time there. You do not really have any cell phone service at all and the Wi-Fi. There would work every now and then so just make sure you plan for that and the only thing that I did not like about the whole experience was that the host would never get back to me when I had a question
Les points faibles : Communication, emplacement, exactitude de lâannonce
The pictures are very miss leading as what appears to be a nice cabin in the wood near a nice creek is only part of the story. For over 250.00 per night, I was not expecting what I got. There are only 2 beds and one you have to climb a dangerous homemade ladder that you can fall from. The other is a very small room with a full-size bed. The living room has a nice cozy feel but it housed our luggage as there is no other place to put them, so itâs useless unless you want to put your luggage on the porch or leave them in your car. The only bathroom is dark (hard to shave by) and dirty and the vanity only comes up to your kneecaps. There is a nice pit fit and I ordered in a load of wood for the weekend, but the road is only 150â away and you canât hear yourself think, much less have a conversation when sitting around the fire. Winter stays here will present a problem as the only heat source is a small wood stove, but they donât provide any firewood when I askes. One tiny AC in the lower bedroom barley kept the room cool and the one in the living room didnât work white I was there. The TV did not work and normally I wouldnât care but there was a college football game I want to see so I watched on my iPad. The TV remote was broken and had no buttons to push and held together with a zip tie (Only in WV).All of the for 700 for 2 nights.ENJOY
Do yourself a favor in rent somewhere else. Description claims property has two bedrooms rooms. By definition a room is an enclosed space with walls, ceiling and floors. This is an extremely small storage area above the living room you climb a ladder to reach with no fourth wall or privacy. All the windows were open when we arrived obviously trying to air out the funk. The place was so unclean and smelled so bad we could not stay there due to health concerns. I spent another 1,050 staying at a quality inn for the week just so I wouldn't have to deal with the stench. The smell inside was of mold mildew and dog pee, The grill outside smelled of rotten fish. Contacted the host and at first he said he would refund my money. Few days later I checked in to find out why I have not received my refund and the host quit communicating with me and VRBO. eventually the host mother accepted a call. She explain to me they didn't care and they didn't have to refund anything. Very strange situation. VRBO say they can not refund my money because they already gave it to the host and the host refuses. So I'm taking Red Bird property management LLC to the local magistrate in an effort to get my 1,800 back.
The cabin was nice. Just as advertised. Keep in mind that the loft requires you to climb a ladder. Everythingâs clean and comfortable. Great pillows and the sound of stream outside made for a great night sleep. Definitely recommend staying here.
Although on a highway route, I didnât mind the sounds of traffic. I focused and enjoyed the serenity surrounding the cabin. You could hear the water running in the creek while sitting on the swing on the porch. I used the wood burner quite a bit. Slept like a baby and woke up late every day!!
My husband and I - and our Golden Retriever - had a really enjoyable and special time at this charming cabin! It was centrally located to the places we most wanted to visit. Our communication with the host was seamless. We would absolutely visit again!
Centrally located to everything we wanted to do. The stream was beautiful. The cabin is cute and clean but very small. There is traffic noise. Its located next to a busy state road so you hear semi trucks throughout the night. If you are a light sleeper i would not recommend staying here. The oven also did not work. We picked up a frozen pizza and could not cook it. Overall, its a cute cabin witha beautiful view of the stream but would not stay again. We just didn't sleep well.
Our stay was cut short (our choice) due to a power outage from tornadoes in the area but we loved our time there. A great little retreat from the every day hustle and bustle!
The cabin is in a beautiful spot, the late nights on the porch are great! The cabin its self is nice and it was clean and the location for riding was fantastic. Lots of miles were put on and a comfortable place to stay.
We had a great stay. We loved hearing the creek right outside the door. The cabin is close to the road so there is some road noise, but it wasnât a deal breaker for us.
out of power for todays but all went well we had lots of fire wood to stay warm with .the water was still working and had a gas stove to cook on NICE STAY
