This property was a total disappointment. It was never cleaned after the previous guest left. Trash sitting in the garbage can in the kitchen, the bathroom sink had prevous guests hair and toothpaste spit on the faucets, sink bowl and mirror. The toilet had hair on it(disgusting)and the garbage can was full of previous guest trash. The beds were never made, we had to make up our beds. Finally the TV in the main bed didnt work. This place was booked for a week, we canceled the rest of our vacation at this place after one night, since the owner never even offered to have someone clean it the next day.

The house is a block off Water Street, and everything was within walking distance. Will definitely stay here for the next family reunion.

We had a fabulous stay in this clean and comfortable home away from home. We were grateful for all the extra perks that the homeowner thought of to make our stay fabulous. We highly recommend this for a quiet comfortable getaway.

Quiet Retreat

This house is as advertised. It is clean, extremely quiet, located in a small town where you can walk around, and with the added perk of a garage you can actually park in. It is roomy and the sheets and towels smell wonderful.

It was perfect!

An easy walk to downtown, very close. The house was perfect for our needs. Very cute. Enjoyed the real wood fireplace! Shullsburg is wonderful. Love the driftless area. We will be back!

Cozy Warm Winter Getaway

Well kept, super clean, above and beyond what we had expected. Quiet street and walking distance from places to eat. If you're one to visit Galena yet like not staying on Galenas truck route please consider this short drive away. Well worth it.

Excellent property, owner and location

We are three senior women from the Minneapolis/St. Paul area who travel together several times a year. We stayed at this property over Thanksgiving weekend, 2022 and thoroughly enjoyed the property and the surrounding area. This house has been nicely remodeled and decorated. We especially loved that there is a wood-burning fireplace and that we had use of the garage which meant we didn't have to scrape frost off the car windows! There are plentiful bath and bed linens and kitchen products, although we barely used the kitchen. Beds were comfortable with one in each bedroom on the main floor and two beds in the upstairs bedroom. In the summer the house offers a very nice enclosed back porch. We highly recommend this property and its owner. Shullsburg and the surrounding area is picturesque and charming. If you are in the area for a nearby graduation, wedding, a family event or just looking for a getaway, consider Shullsburg and the "Bungalow in the Burg". We visited nearby Monroe, Platteville, Mineral Point, New Glarus and Cuba City and the Driftless area countryside, but didn't make it to Galena, Illinois which is also a lovely historic town. Try "Gravity Hill" just outside of Shullsburg and see if it works for you!

Girls Weekend

Loved this property for our "Girls Weekend". The home definitely lived up to the photos. It was comfortable, clean, and cozy. The host provided every amenity needed. The information regarding the home was complete and detailed so we had no need to contact the property manager or host during our stay. Shullsburg is a beautiful town. We would definitely plan a stay at "bungalow in the Burg" again!

Just like home.

I have stayed in many rentals before but this cute little house is by far the best I have ever stayed in. Everything was provided. Even a couple alcoholic drinks. Super clean and very inviting. There were enough towels for a change. Even a washer and dryer to do a load if not. I will definitely stay here again.

Sisters get away

This property was so easy to rent and was very very nice. The only down side was the washer and dryer was down in the basement, witch was nicely done , and two of the beds were upstairs . Stairs are not my friend lol. Anyway the home was in a very quite neighborhood. We were close to Dubuque one way was only 20 miles and Galena was the other way 20 miles so we had plenty to do .
