July at Lake Melissa

This was our 2nd time staying at this property and we had a great vacation. It is so relaxing and quiet and 2 fawns even visited us a couple times while we were there. Was able to get my walks in with my dog and was close enough to town and grocery stores so there wasn't a lot of unnecessary driving involved.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lake Melissa cabin. We will book again and plan on staying longer next time!

We had a great stay. The house is cute, clean, and set up wonderfully. There was an abundance of dishes, and necessities, just in case you forget. The neighbors were very friendly. We were truly able to get away and relax here, and had the best time.

Wonderful stay

We really enjoyed staying at this house. It was very clean and had all the comforts of home. The location was perfect for our needs, golfing and eating out in the evenings. The host was very quick to respond. We will stay here again.

We loved our stay at the Lake Melissa Cabin! The house was beautiful with everything you need. The property outdoor was really nice. We especially loved the fenced in part if the yard. We took our dog Moose with us. We took him out there and were able to play ball with him off leash.We have family in the area and will definitely be back!

Excellent Stay

This was beyond our expectations. Very nicely stocked woth everything. Clean and very nicely laid out for us to visit, play games and relax. We did the Troll tour and enjoyed the getaway.

Winter Relaxation

The house was clean, warm and comfortable. Two bathrooms definitely helped with 6 people. The kitchen had what we needed. Great location in a quiet neighborhood, but close to groceries, etc., and the relatives we came to visit. We would stay again.

Relaxing with Friends and Trolls!

This property was an oasis for three friends to relax on the deck, visit, read--after the troll adventure. It was clean, beds were comfortable and the cabin was decorated in a cute and cozy manner. The cabin was in a quiet neighborhood with a beach commons area right across the street. We stayed during the week in the spring, so I can't speak to week-ends and the summer lake life. I highly recommend staying here!

Nice place

In general the house was clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. The cabinets were cluttered and disorganized however. This made it tricky to cook and we never did find a blow comb only attachments!

It was a good property for our group as we did not spend much time there, only to sleep. There was a bad smell like cat litter that went throughout the house and we could not get rid of it. Also, you should bring your own towels as the towels provided smell and are thin/very cheap.

Good morning Karlie, Thank you for the review. Please always let us know when you are there if something is wrong. We do not have cats at that house so we will make sure the vents are clear on the roof, in the winter sometimes ice can form on the vent pipe. We will check the towels and replace if bad.

Mouse droppings in the kitchen cabinets, drawers, coffee bar, and in the oven drawer. The kitchen island countertop was not attached, so it moved easily and was unsafe. After three unsuccessful attempts, we concluded the dishwasher did not work. It was severely corroded, with food inside. The Keurig coffee maker's water reservoir was half full of water with algae growing inside. For the next visitor, I would also suggest a few more bath towels and kitchen towels. Since we had to hand-wash all dishes, we ran out of dish-drying towels quickly. The last morning, the shower tub was draining slowly, so it needed to be addressed as well. I texted the property management on Friday evening about some of the issues, but received no response. Overall, the property was overpriced for what we had to endure throughout the weekend.

Hidden gem!

Impressive getaway that will spoil even the most difficult skeptics. The pictures are accurate and the details are worth a 5 star review. It is difficult to find a rental that is clean, nicely decorated and has all the comforts of home. It is a beautiful lake rental that won't disappoint. The lake is only a short walk away. The neighbors are very friendly, yet keep to themselves. The home has all the essentials so you barely need much more than your clothes and, of course, whatever food you care to have on hand. Rarely do I leave reviews, but this hidden gem deserved a thumbs up.

It's a beautiful property and well kept, but the entrance instructions were not clear - it's a digital dead bolt instead of a lock box and you need to press the padlock icon after entering the code, which was not explained in the entrance instructions.

Lake Melissa

We really enjoyed our stay at the property. The inside was roomy and comfortable and it was a great location. We hope to stay there again. The only problem was the back yard had really long grass and should have been mowed. There were cobwebs all over the fence and on the outside of back door and lights. There was a huge hole that wasn't covered in the back yard (leading into a basement?) and could have been a problem for kids and dogs. It was almost like the back yard was forgotten in preparation for a stay. There wasn't an umbrella on the outside table in front and due to the hot weather it would have been nice to have one. Even though the outside was not together, we did enjoy our stay and would definitely stay again and refer others to the property. Thank you.

Difficult check in.

Stay was very nice, place was clean, cozy. We thought we were on the lake, but it was on a nearby street. Check in was really difficult, the indicated the lockbox was on the side door, there was no lockbox on the cabin only on the garage door. We had to call owner with no luck, we then emailed them. There indeed was no lockbox on the door the is an electric code built into the lock on the side door, you can’t see it unless u tap it to light up. After 20 mins of searching and fiddling around with the lockbox on the garage, I finally emailed the owner. Instructions were incorrect so it was very frustrating

The house is perfect. It was clean inside and outand in an awesome location..

The renting process was very simple. Sota Lakes keeps you up to date. The Sota Lakes team were always available if you have questions about the property or area. Will definitely be back to visit and stay at this home.

Great property close to the golf course.

Great property close to the golf course and other amenities. We will certainly stay again next year as our son Josh won the Pine to Palm golf tournament.
