Really great little place for a family to stay in Anchorage. The host was very accommodating and communicated regularly leading up to the stay, and accommodated my kids.
Location was very convenient, and parking was nice. Access was easy to get in, was not a noisy area at all, and was described well in the description. I would definitely stay there again.
Property was clean and spacious. We enjoyed the use of the coined laundry room. Kitchen was well equipped with what we needed. The listing said their was a hot tub but their wasn't one. Which was a bummer because we were looking forwarded to that after hiking.
We spent four days in this charming little rental. It was very clean, well-stocked with the needed kitchen items and the rooms were very comfortable. The location is perfect if you are planning to stay in the Anchorage area, centrally located to many attractions and easy to find. Communication with the owner was quick and cordial. On-site laundry was definitely a bonus, making it possible to pack less for your trip.Couple of things to consider-the upstairs and downstairs are not well insulated from each other. The upstairs tenants were not overly loud but the running across the floor is easily heard. IF this is a deal breaker for you, this might not be your location. We didn't mind. Also, the floors are creaky, that bothers some people. The book at the rental has information that was not for this particular rental and was a bit confusing. The rental apparently has more than one name and that made it a little hard to decide what was applicable.
Before I found this place to stay in Anchorage I checked through so many apartments and hotels. Good hotels are so expensive but non expensive have so many bad reviews. I almost gave up and by chance found this place. It has good reviews and good rate. I investigated it and found it pretty good by price, location and pictures. I booked and didn't regret. This place is very clean, has everything you need like microwave, refrigerator and even coffee machine. The owner John is very friendly, responsive to any your issues and very quick in response to your messages. I really enjoyed and would recommend it to everyone who wants to enjoy Alaska living in comfortable and clean place.
Expect to run to the grocery store before you settle in for the night. Check for coffee, tea, sugar, salt and pick up some toilet paper while youâre there. Two rolls for two people for 10 days doesnât cut it and no salt and only enough coffee for 2 cups was just pretty skimpy provisions.Hopefully the owner will have figured out how to make the TV work for the next guests. We had no working TV our entire stay, which wasnât a huge dealbreaker for us, but I could be for others. He replaced it with a new TV, but then didnât set it up and without the owner logging onto it nothing was available. The heat had not been turned on for the year yet and with it being cold and rainy it was fairly miserable. We resorted to turning on the oven for heat for short periods of time and putting our towels to dry in front of the fan. The location is pretty good and 10 minutes does it for pretty much anywhere you wanna go down or to the grocery store Costco, etc.. coin operated washer and dryer have change for that, 2.50 per load. There was soap available. Both beds were terrible but clean. I have back problems so this would definitely keep me away. For the price range this was probably the best available by the time I got to booking six months out. Make sure that you are booking well ahead of your trip.
This house was convenient to downtown and clean. Check in/out was easy. The unit could use some updates. The mattress needs replacing on queen bed. Shower door didnât close appropriately so it leaked. TV wasnât working very well. Itâd be nice to have a few basic live tv channels. It kinda stunk we couldnât control the AC/heat. Communication with host was easy .
This was our first visit to Alaska and my husband and I are traveling with another couple. We had three nights at the front end of our trip and two on the back end in Anchorage. I knew I didnât want to rent a car for both ends of the trip and since we were going to be leaving Anchorage on the Alaska Railroad I decided to took for something within walking distance. This property worked out perfectly. We were able to walk downtown for bike rentals as well as to markets and the summer solstice festival as well as the railroad station and restaurants. The property met our needs and the host was very responsive to questions and messages both before and during our stay. If you are looking to stay near downtown Anchorage for a couple of days and walk rather than drive everywhere this is a great option.
I moved to Alaska in 1995 and I like to camp, hike and explore the Alaska wilderness. My favorite activities are probably kayaking and mnt biking. I also cross country ski and downhill ski. I enjoy playing hockey but my skating skills are marginal at best especially for Alaska standards. I have received awards for being a top fundraiser through the Childrens Miracle Network and Multiple Schlerosis Society. Giving back is as important to me as being a positive steward of my community. I rode a bicycle from Hope to Seward and back multiple years in a row for support of Bike MS. Also Willow to Talkeetna, Talkeetna to Denali, Girdwood to Hope and from Anchorage to Palmer just to enjoy the State Fair. Most of my distance riding is fundraising for the American Lung Association or Multiple Schlerosis Society or just training for these crazy rides.
It's a very comfortable space that isn't crowded like a hotel room. Open kitchen, dining area, lots of natural light and nice furniture. Wi-fi available and smart tv makes this the perfect space to unwind after your Alaskan adventure.
