Adorable newly remodeled house one block away from charming downtown Hamilton and short distance to Spooky Nook. This small community is the perfect mid western staycation destination with a bundle of cute small businesses within walking/biking distance.
House offers super comfy new furniture and all the amenities to make your stay easy and enjoyable. Perfect for any group combination of friends or family, set up to accommodate children, no pets. Street parking only.
Cute property. Love the rose bush in the backyard. Bring a chair so you can relax on the back deck and enjoy the birds and squirrels. Literally 1 block from Main street. You can find numerous restaurants, bars, stores, and more all eithin walking distance. We even walked over to watch the 4th of July parade.
The house was really nice, close to downtown. My only complaints were the showers. Upstairs has a handheld shower head which and downstairs was broken, with a plastic liner that was kinda hard to use. Showers still worked and got the job done. Other than that, I'd give this place. 10/10.
We enjoyed our stay in Hamilton very much. We were there for a sporting event @ Spooky Nook. the location was so convenient! We had dinner on Main street and enjoyed the neighborhood (sometimes at these events you don't get to see cute areas) so a bonus! the house itself was very nice - would recommend to anyone for a cozy & comfortable option. Thank you!!
This property exceeded our expectations - spacious, clean and conveniently located. It was the perfect place to escape after a long tournament day at Spooky Nook.
The house exceeded our expectations. It was very clean and had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable. Conveniently located to resturaunts and shopping.
LOVED this location. Close to Main Street and could walk to downtown. The property was exactly as listed. Very clean and charming decor. Would definitely recommend to friends.
We stayed here for a wedding. Easy check in. Off street parking. It was clean and in a good location. Owner was very prompt getting back to us and checked on us multiple times during our stay.
I booked Spencerâs property to share with two other siblings and their partners for our sisterâs birthday weekend. The property works so well for the three couples. The location was perfect! We parked our car on arrival Thursday evening and didnât use the car until we checked out Monday morning.
We really enjoyed exploring the new Hamilton along Main and High Streets. So many great new restaurants and shops.
Beautiful home to call for the few days we stayed. Would definitely recommend this place. Also a short drive away to family friendly things to do ex.. museumsâs and zoo. Also plenty to do for adults as thereâs casinos and bars not far away as well. Thanks again!!
We had a wonderful time at this house. It is conveniently located right in downtown Hamilton, close to restaurants, coffee shops, breweries, etc. The house has historic charm, but has been updated with all new and modern touches.
The house was nice size. Easy to get to met all of our needs. The only complaint i had the beds were very hard. And the upstairs tub had no plug and you couldnt stand to take a shower. Other wise it was cozy and had all the necessitys we needed.
The house is really cute and close to the cute historic downtown Hamilton. Our bed was very comfortable and there were plenty of extra blankets. Our only complaint was the somewhat limited kitchen supplies (e.g., a large frying pan for cooking breakfast, easy to use wine opener). The owner checked in on us and made sure we had everything we needed.
My wife and I recently came into town for a long weekend with family, and this location was perfect for us. It was close to things going on downtown, and also served as the perfect homebase for winding down after a long day with family. The home is older, as all homes are in this area, but the host has done a good job updating the property to make you feel at home. Communication with the host was great, and we felt very at ease knowing that if there would be an issue, he was so reachable. We will definitely consider this location again for future visits.
This was a really nice place. We initially had problems with the code for the door and even at 5am the host was available and answered the phone and resolved the problem in just a few minutes. Good size rooms, nice towels and linens. Nice to have 2 full bathrooms.
We were in town for a wedding at Lake Lindsey & Soccer event at VOC and the house was perfectly located between the two. It was within walking distance of downtown Hamilton also. Everything described in the description of the house was spot on. The owner was great to work with and even checked in with us a few times making sure everything was ok and if we needed anything. My daughter already said if we are back in the area we are definitely staying at this house.
Lovely setup. But this home runs warm. We arrived late and the home was 80+ degrees when we went in. Cranked on the a/c, but as it as an older home, it took all night to cool off. No one slept well.
We were out all day the following day, came home late, and again, home was very warm, but we didnât adjust the a/c prior to leaving for the day, not sure why it had kicked off. Frustrated that weâd have to try to sleep in uncomfortable conditions a second night, we reached out to Spencer, who said heâd set the thermostat on a cool setting. So not sure if the owner was adjusting the temp remotely.
Third day, we were gone again, came home, and the home was finally a comfortable temperature⊠though the upstairs is not as cool as the downstairs. I donât think Spencer was aware how hot the home gets, and did take action once it was brought to his attention. Not the best experience after being out in warm weather all day, all you want is to come home and sleep somewhere cool.
Came into town for an education conference with coworkers. The home is old but cute and mostly updated inside. The host was wonderful and accommodating throughout our stay. He checked-in on us and made sure we were having a good stay!
Pros:
â Wonderful host who is quick and responsive
â Great location and close to lots
â Wonderful price for what you get
â Plenty of space
â Everything except bathrooms is updated
â Easy check-in and out without lots of extra requirements and steps
Quirks (not necessarily cons):
â The house when we arrived and the first night was extremely hot. We ended up sleeping downstairs on the floor to make it bearable. We discovered during the stay that if the curtains were closed all day, it was much more comfortable at night. In order to make it inviting, the curtains were left open when we arrived but the temperatures in the house were insane. The host did respond to our concerns quickly though and reimbursed us for the fans. We left the fans there for future guests to use so hopefully they help someone!
â The bathrooms are accurately described in the listing mostly but they are difficult. The only shower in the home is no bigger than 24x24 in a very tiny bathroom. It is difficult to use because it is so tiny. I showered daily but my coworkers decided not to because so small.
â The stairs leading up to the house and long narrow stairs leading upstairs make it difficult to access for anyone older or carrying heavy luggage.
