Stay at the historic Clayton-Bullock house! Located in the heart of the beautiful Licking Riverside Historic District, this house was built in 1839 and served as a private schoolhouse during the Civil War. And it's just a short drive to the Cincinnati Zoo, Museums, and Ark Encounter!
We stayed at Chris's property for about 6 months. He was the BEST host. Always on top of communication, fixed any issue we had immediately, and really just was a great host.
We loved staying in the historical district of Covington in a historic home! The best part was it was walking distance for everything (including the Redâs ballpark). We felt completely safe walking everywhere even at night. There were so many fantastic and close restaurants. We live in the country where parking isnât an issue so finding parking on Saturday nigh wasnât the best but wasnât awful. Thanks to the sweet owner for being so great at giving us advice, since heâs a resident of the same town he actually KNOWS whatâs good and where to go.
Great location. Walking distance to Stadiums and other events. Itâs a historical home and has lots of character. It was disappointing related to how unclean it was. Items from previous occupants were left behind, which at times this is helpful, but not in this case. We've stayed at a lot of Air B&B/VRBO rentals, and the lack of cleanliness couldn't be overlooked. The shower was grungy. There were old condiments/groceries in the fridge and cabinets. Writing on the walls above one of the beds. The sheets didn't appear clean. The carpet in the bedroom was stained and overall, just looked filthy.
The outlets along the kitchen counter are loose and the breaker flipped while using the dishwasher. The front door lock also was tricky and on the last night wouldn't lock at all.
It has such good potential to be a great short-term rental, but cleaning needs to improve, and some upgrades need done to make it more comfortable.
We went on a river boat dinner cruise and went to the creation museum and Ark Encounter twice. Kids loves the trampoline and basketball stand!!
Host was easily accessible and courteous!! Thanks!!
Chrisâ place was perfect for our group. I love old houses and this house has all the charm and character of those bygone days but with modern conveniences. The house was spacious and airy. The backyard was a great asset and having a grill, trampoline, and yard was the icing on the cake. We will definitely be back.
Chris was an excellent host. Knew the area and made some in the spot recommendations that worked out well.
Will contact Chris again when staying in the area.
Within walking distance of a number of restaurants and bars in Covington and downtown Cincinnati. More than enough room for 2 people. Chris, the property manager, was responsive and easy to work with.
This is a wonderful location, within easy walking distance to Covington and Newport. Beautiful neighborhood and interesting history of the house. We had a great stay!
This place and the area are rich in history with lots of historic plaques to read as you walk the town. My family of 8 stayed here and had a good time, would stay again.
Great location within walking distance of downtown Cincinnati via a nice metal bridge that was built in the 1800s. Host was great at communicating and fulfilling needs. The kids really enjoyed the abundance of family games.
We were drawn to the historical nature of this property so expected an older building. Everything worked well (although washer and dryer were quite loud). The rooms were spacious. We were bummed that the backyard was pretty rough, but after the first night, it was blistering hot the rest of our 4 days, so we stayed inside while there. Ants came in the last 24 hours. Felt we had respectful and pleasant interactions with Chris and would consider going back if in the area again.
You'll love being within walking distance to everything! There is shopping, restaurants, parks, breweries, museums, and plenty of family friendly activities such as zoos, aquariums, theme parks, and the Ark Encounter! And of course, it's just a short walk to Great American Ballpark, Paul Brown Stadium, and the FC Soccer Stadium!
If you are a history nerd like me, then you'll love the Licking Riverside historic district! The houses here date back as early as 1815 and there are beautiful historic mansions along Riverside Drive! Ask me about guided walking tours!
