I stayed at this property with my husband, dad and two kids. There was plenty of space for everyone to spread out. The decks are great. The kids enjoyed pool/air hockey and the hot tub. Location was great - easy access to Blowing Rock and trails in the area. There isnât great WiFi but that is very well communicated and it was great to unplug a bit. Weâve stayed in the area for a week each of the past five years and this house is our favorite - we would definitely rent again.
We had an amazing time on our long weekend get-away in this cabin. The views from the deck are breathtaking. The cabin is fully stocked with everything we needed. Be aware that the WiFi connection provides little to no internet access and thereâs no cell service (not a big deal in most cases, but donât plan on being able to work from the cabin), but the cable is satellite and worked flawlessly. We found plenty to do in the area. Downtown Blowing Rock was only about a 10 minute drive away. Lots of shops, restaurants, outdoor seating areas. We also found a few of the waterfalls that were outlined in the guest binder in the cabin. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to return!

Stink bugs infestation
Property was ok. But the first issue was that they delayed a day of arrival for a problem a rental management ON THE MOUNTAINS should have taken care of! ( We heard a week prior about the storm an d precaution we needed to take care of) And than when we arrive, we noticed at night stink bugs throughout the tv area and dining area. Crawling tables and sofas and tv screen. We took care of it that night with common pesticide. ( just to not complain) Did not work! Spoke to Lorie from blowing rock rentals and her answer was âI am sorry but itâs common in the mountain housesâ they come from the wallsđđ. After she offer pest control.
We have stayed in dozens of mountain houses and this was the first time we experience this. And ok ⊠letâs say this year was an issue⊠but 30 a day WOW! Thatâs infestation.
They offer a pest control! We complied! The pest control said we needed to wait 2-3 days to see them gone. 3rd day still, we picked up 30 from table, sofas tv and even bed! Disgusting⊠absolutely Disgusting!!
Those bugs kicked us out from that house. It was NOT an early check out! When I called to say we were checking out aggravated from bugs( 2 days ahead and wanted a refund from a problem from day oneâŠ. So house should not hav been rented!!!!) they said sorryâŠ.Your checking out early âŠwe did what we could!
Very disappointed!!! Because our friends did not sleep, waving stink bugs all night long and listening to them bang on the windows!
I have been a VRBO member for the past 10 years with great reviews! I got to say that this is the first time a management company has dropped the ball!!! SHAME ON YOU BLOWING ROCK REBTALS and OWNERS of BOONDOGLE!!! Gayle and Lorie you need some customer service manners, and skills!! And lastly they did not refunded my money from stink bug problem.
If you are looking to rent this home ask for a certificate of clear pest control infestation . We do not want you to experience what we lived. And ask the cleaning crew or properly management????? We left a close jar with the last 15-20 bugs we collected the morning we left. A period of 2-3 hours before departure.
House is situated on a quiet country road in between Boone and Blowing Rock. The view from the living room and back porch is breathtaking. Kitchen is on the small side but had most of the essentials. Wifi was very slow and almost non existent but we were notified of that in the listing. We did not use the hot tub as it did not look very clean and the pool table was not level. Despite these two minor negatives we were overall very satisfied with the property and would stay again.
