Welcome to River View Retreat — your serene escape on the beautiful Taunton River. Just steps (less than 20 feet!) from the water’s edge, this peaceful haven offers stunning bay views, a brand new deck, and a comfortably furnished home perfect for unwinding and reconnecting with nature. Watch the seabirds, feel the ocean breeze, and enjoy the sights and sounds of local wildlife from sunrise to sunset.

This retreat is ideal for boating, kayaking, swimming, fishing, and exploring. The expansive 20,000 sq ft fenced-in lot includes a private saltwater shell beach, perfect for relaxing in the sun or shade, grilling with friends, or lounging on the new brick patio overlooking the bay.

Take a scenic walk just one mile down the road to Pearce’s Beach — a local favorite featuring a giant new red slide that kids will love!

Great Stay

This was our second stay at this property. It is modern and quaint all at the same time, with room for everyone to relax and enjoy. The river view is lovely and the deck and side yard are great. The house has everything you might need. The host is very attentive and a pleasure to work with.

Me and my longtime friends had a fantastic long getaway weekend at Dimitri’s place. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and felt very welcoming—perfect for relaxing. The highlight was the spacious outdoor area. It gave us plenty of room to grill, hang out, watch tv outside, and enjoy time together; all with the backdrop of the river. We also took full advantage of the tv room, to watch sports and play games. Everything we needed was provided, and the setup made it easy to feel right at home. A wonderful spot for both relaxing and entertaining. Dimitri is a fantastic host. He was extremely responsive and made sure we enjoyed our stay. And the pizza from his restaurant is a must!

Great place!

We had a great time at this house. Everything was clean and nice. The views were gorgeous. And Dimitrios was a great host...he made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Agoro's has excellent food! We enjoyed dining in and we also took pizzas to go.

Great place to unwind

We stayed here for two weeks while in town for a work project. The view is amazing--hard to get much closer to the water without being *in* the water. The owner, Dimitrios, was super accommodating--filled the grill propane before we arrived and responded quickly to anything we needed. Lots of restaurants and things to do within 20 minutes in any direction. Highly recommend this cozy retreat!

Lovely property with pretty views of river. Kitchen was our favorite room. It was well stocked with utensil/essentials to prepare a meal. TV/game room is super comfortable and relaxing. Easy check in process. The host was very respectful and thoughtful, checking in by text to make sure all was well.

Fantastic trip!

My old college friends and I spent our annual summer getaway at this Riverside gem. The place is amazing. With stunning view of the river, beautifully decorated, and a yard equipped with fire pits, I would highly recommend staying here. The owner, Dimitrios was super. Very accommodating and couldn’t have been more helpful and welcoming. We will be back! 😊. Oh…and the beds were amazingly comfy!

FANTASTIC!

Such a great rental home! Our family of 7 had a wonderful vacation here. Beautiful view, plenty of room and a great host. All 3 bedrooms are upstairs and were clean & comfortable. Kids loved the bunk beds and our infant slept great in the brand new pack n play. Downstairs a TV room, a bright & beautiful kitchen and a living room. The location was super close to anything we needed (DD, restaurants, a pharmacy). The owner is so accommodating, the house is easy to get to- a place we will certainly book again. Thank you Demetrius!

Riverview Retreat is highly recommended

It was all about the details that made my stay special at the Riverview Retreat. The host provided clear check in instructions and a welcome letter that provided us all the intel we needed to kick off our shoes and relax. We expected to eat out on the town when we arrived, but after seeing the view. We decided to get delivery and soak up the calm river from the deck. This place is kid friendly and offered coin toss and dartboard that both kids and adults to enjoy for hours. There are two living areas and while the kids were entertaining themselves on one side. The adults could enjoy the somewhat peace in the other Livingroom area. The whole house seemed to be recently renovated with an upscale-nautical theme. The beds were super comfy and rooms were a good size to spread out The outside of the property has a large side yard, a grill and firepit that we used everyday. The host provided smores, and were a hit for everyone. There were also kayak's available, but after feeling the water (Brrrr). We decided it was not the season to get adventurous. One thing I wish I had brought was a fishing pole.... You can fish right off the property. We loved our stay in Somerset, and did not want to leave. The next time we are in the area we will defiantly stay at the Riverview Retreat. Thank you so much!!

The views and light were just what we wanted

Overall, a wonderful stay, the light and layout served us well. I came from Oregon and after being awake for 36 hours I needed more information that came in the original informational email from VRBO. One there is a gate code needed - the owner had sent it to me separately, but I didn't know that or have the time to look through 100 unread emails - he responded very quickly with that and any other questions I had. I was happy there was a Nespresso machine in addition to the coffee maker - and host offered to overnight some pods but found some in a drawer nearby. Some information needs updating - there is no hot tub as expected and advertised. I had a group of young ladies getting ready for senior prom and that was joyful and fun. Everything else was fine and being overly picky - a chef's style kitchen lacked some basic serving ware, and I went to the dollar store for bowls and trays and napkins, etc. We did also build a bonfire one night and that was a nice feature, we had to go get firewood but there were chairs and a pole to stoke and manage the fire. We also enjoyed a nice meal at their restaurant and used the gift certificate toward a stack of yummy pizzas for after prom. I was not aware that the house is part of an attached duplex - with people living next to the house we were renting and sharing the driveway with their several cars and loud motorcycle. It was expensive - but it was also a special occasion, and I would stay there again.

Great Experience

What an awesome place to stay for the week. The house had plenty of room for me and my family with a beautiful view of the river. Plenty of space and a newly renovated kitchen. The hosts were very accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed. We have already rebooked another stay. Would 1000% recommend. And this is coming from someone who never leaves reviews... but this time around I had to take the time. Also... plenty of restaurants closeby!

Riverview Retreat

The home is very welcoming and beautifully decorated. My family and I had an amazing time making s’mores by the fire pit and relaxing on the deck. The sunrise and sunset were just breathtaking every day! I look forward to returning to this retreat by the water for a relaxing rewind very soon!

Dimitrios and Stacey are lifelong Somerset locals, happily married for 15 years — which, in dog years (according to Coco, their family pup), is basically forever. Together, they’re raising three awesome kids: Dalila, Dimitrios, and Liliana — the names behind Stacey’s marketing company, DDL Advertising.

Stacey is the brains behind branding, while Dimitrios runs Agoro’s Pizza Bar & Grill, the local go-to for great food and good vibes since 1984. If you ask around town, someone’s probably had one of his pizzas — or two… or ten.

They’re natural hosts who love a good get-together, whether it’s Sunday dinner with friends or impromptu backyard parties. So opening RiverView Retreat to guests felt like second nature. Their goal? To make you feel like part of the family — minus the group chat.

The property at 2980 Riverside Avenue in Somerset, Massachusetts, boasts a rich history that reflects the area's vibrant past. Constructed in 1894, this historic home has stood as a testament to the architectural and cultural heritage of the late 19th century.​

In the early 20th century, the lower level of the residence served as a speakeasy—a clandestine establishment that operated during the Prohibition era, offering patrons a secret venue for socializing and enjoying illicit beverages. The property's location on what was once known as Gay Street adds another layer to its historical significance. This street earned its name due to the transportation of clay from Gay Head on Martha's Vineyard to Somerset, where artisans utilized it to craft pottery on-site, highlighting the area's industrious past.​

Today, efforts are underway to restore the former speakeasy to its original splendor, allowing visitors and residents alike to experience a tangible piece of Somerset's storied history.​
