Villa Bandera Roja is newly remodeled. The Villa is equipped with fans and air conditioning in the living spaces as well as in each bedroom. The rancho houses a nine-foot dining table, a large sectional sofa and TV.

Villa Bandera Roja

Fantastic villa for all ages. Our group of 7 included 4 adults, a teenager, and 2 younger kids - enough space for everyone; we all loved it! The outdoor area was a favorite -used the pool non-stop and saw howler monkeys and iguanas daily. Great quiet and safe location outside of the hubub of Tamarindo; many nice restaurants within walking distance otherwise everything else was a short golf cart ride away. Villa is stocked with plenty of beach/pool towels, having access to laundry was great, cleaners came a couple times during the week; we had no issues. Would definitely stay again.

I'll just echo previous reviews. Miguel was fantastic, great location outside of the Tamarindo craziness, well stocked kitchen, plenty of towels, soap and shampoo in each bathroom, efficient and quiet A/C and a fantastic outdoor space to stay dry during the rain and to watch the monkey "super highway" across the roof. We had a water issue the first night but Miguel was on it and had it fixed in the morning. 5 minute walk to great surfing. Tamarindo tips: rent a golf cart and bring lots and lots of bug spray.

Costa Rican Vacay

Fantastic property. Loved the outdoor space. Many extras that aren’t always provided at rental houses- cooking spices, toiletries, laundry detergent. Lots of towels for bath and pool! Great location in quiet beach town but walkable to Tamarindo for more excitement. Amazing sunsets at the local beach. Miguel, the property manager, and Blair, the owner, were responsive and helpful answering our questions. We were excited to discover the house had monkeys cross the roof multiple times during our stay. Would definitely recommend this property!

What a dream

This home was absolutely stunning. The layout of the house and patio and pool area is just perfect. The bathrooms and bedrooms were beautiful. The kitchen was the best stocked kitchen that I’ve ever stayed in. We walked just a few minutes every night down to the beach for sunset. We had monkeys come across our roof, which was really fun for the kids. If you’re thinking about staying here do it! You won’t regret it.

Perfect Vacation House

Our family of 6 adults and two teenagers stayed in Tamarindo for 9 days for March Break. This house was the perfect vacation rental for us. The inside was spacious, comfortable and was equipped with everything we could need. One of the most well stocked kitchens we have had in a rental. The best part of this house is the back deck and pool. We spent most of our time outside enjoying this beautiful space. We all loved the monkeys running across the roof twice daily and made friends with a couple of cats who passed through the property. Miguel the property manager was wonderful to deal with. He responded quickly to any question or request we had. We look forward to coming back soon!

Extended family stay

The property was great, lots of space, and wonderful outdoor living. Pool was good. Location is good for walkability or a very short drive to town or restaurants. We hadn’t planned on renting a golf cart but did in the end due to the heat and the distance to walk into town. The kitchen had everything you would need. We had a little hard time getting warm water in some of the showers but was doable. Great to see the wildlife on the property. Howler monkeys crossed the roof every morning and afternoon. Overall great house and great time.

Great Property and Location

Great property and location at the south end of Tamarindo. Miguel was a pleasure to work with and always available. One minor issue and he resolved it immediately. House is every bit as nice as the photo's. Be ready for wild life as you are destined to see howler monkeys almost daily as they cross the roof and rest in the large tree. Location is ideal as you can walk to numerous nice restaurants. We had a golf cart which extended our range to the entire town. Lots of great restaurants. Our favorites: Pangas, Dragonfly, Sofia's; Zolu's for tacos and El Sapo for pizza. Best cocktail in Tamarindo may be found across the street at the Bistro. Only minor item is the house did not have any beach chairs or small cooler. Beach access is very close and these items would make it a perfect family spot, quiet yet close to everything.

great location out of the squalor and chaos of Tama. surfed the hell out of Langosta pt, kayaked the mangrove, walked the both beaches in front and beyond the estuary. we drove from Monteverde, hellish and long, to be completely abandoned upon arrival. no address, no property mgr, i had heard nothing in the days before arrival as to location and check in protocol so i texted the mgr to expect a call at check in time. we spent an hour wandering around looking and waiting for a call or text. i'm furious how flakey he is. never again.

Exceptional Home That Exceeded Our Expectations

The moment we opened the door, our whole family was awestruck. This home is so beautiful! The pictures, although nice, do not fully convey the vast amount of space, the charm of the details the owners put in to the Mediterranean/Beachy decor, the roominess in the rancho and adjoining pool, and the overall family-friendly environment. We stayed there with our son and his wife, and their three young children. There was ample room for all of us. We have rented VRBOs in many places, and this one is at the top of the list for sure. The kitchen was very well equipped, and the bathrooms clean, spacious and very beautifully designed. The beds were comfortable, and linens very nice. We were able to walk to the nearby beach and the sunsets there are incomparable. If you are looking for a Costa Rican getaway with simple yet luxurious surroundings, we highly recommend this rental.

Excellent property some maintenance issues

Someone’s dirty clothes in bathroom from last stay, broken light in one bathroom that made it hard to see and was very inconvenient, last day woke up to AC leaking on our heads (AC above bed) slow responses from property manager (maybe slowness is just a Costa Rican thing). Beautiful, spacious property, well equipped kitchen, friendly property manager, really enjoyed overall but these items should’ve been take care of for the cost we paid.

My new favorite rental

The accommodations were absolutely perfect for two families of three. The outside deck/pool area is amazing with a super cool tiki hut area, plenty of seating and a large TV that we got to watch our college son's lacrosse game on that was being streamed. The kitchen is the best stocked kitchen I have ever seen. Our host Miguel Calderon was amazing, he made sure everything was perfect and helped us set-up activities and even gave our boys surfing lessons. He has in-home chefs that will come in and cook you a meal, it is so worth the money, what a treat! If you go to Costa Rica download the app "WhatsApp" since that is how everyone in Costa Rica communicates and it works pretty slick, just like texting. Just make sure you put people you will be communicating with in your contacts.

Amazing Home and Location!

Great villa and excellent location. The outdoor area is much larger than the photos suggested. The Villa is private and very comfortable for two families. Effortless 3 minute walk to Langosta Beach - literally 2 blocks away. The interior rooms are tasteful and spacious and the kitchen is brand new. This home is PERFECT! You’ll never want to leave. The neighborhood is quiet and very safe (gated home and guards at the street entry). We had a private chef one evening and in-home massages one day. We walked everywhere..restaurants, Tamarindo, etc. This was a new listing and we took a shot, turned out great. We're definitely coming back!!!
